This should be something discussed in the thread with everyone else, not a private one. I’m just trying to merge it with the other thread of this title.
Because I’m not playing this game with you.
You don’t take a public debate (dialogue, whatever) and try to make it a cozy private conversation. I’m already spread too thin, I got no private time for you!
Your posts feel to me like they are all about playing games and spite and your own sense of superiority.
We all know the world is plenty screwed up. Some of us are even aware that at it’s roots, centuries worth of self-absorption and self-serving thinking have created today’s world step by step - and it’s simply been supercharged by crazy-makers over the past half century that I’ve been taking notes.
With lazy consumers preferring dishonest yappers and rejecting actual physical reality (scientific understanding) in favor of our innate yearning for ever more, ever bigger, and resulting in ever less regard for others. One mistake compounding into yet more mistakes, with “solutions” quite often creating even more problems than solved.
Not to mention the growing disregard for the needs and concerns of others.
Me, me, me, Ayn’s battle cry has been embraced it has created this nightmare society that is in an existential free fall. Something you seem to celebrate.
No thank you, I hang up on unsolicited phone calls, and I will out unsolicited baiting, such as the following.
That’s my complaint for you, take it up with the CFI management if you think I’ve aggrieved your “honor”.
Message rejected and returned:
You haven’t a clue, try studying history a little, the foundation for today’s nightmare goes back further than you care to learn about, and your superficial shadensfraude is a drag and really off-putting and pointless to engage in.
Yup! Pretty much. Not only do I think this should be kept in the original discussion, but I don’t have time for this BS, which should include everyone. Gotta go to work and if Lausten doesn’t succeed in getting it move by the time I get home tonight, then I’ll see what I can do after work.
Hersh: What’s going on in the Biden White House? Who the hell is running the country?
Who is running the country?
Seymour Hersh
Readers of this column know that President Joe Biden’s drift into blankness has been ongoing for months, as he and his foreign policy aides have been urging a ceasefire that will not happen in Gaza while continuing to supply the weapons that make a ceasefire less likely. There’s a similar paradox in Ukraine, where Biden has been financing a war that cannot be won and refusing to participate in negotiations that could end the slaughter.
The reality behind all of this, as I’ve been told for months, is that the president is simply no longer there, in terms of understanding the contradictions of the policies he and his foreign policy advisers have been carrying out. America should not have a president who does not know what he has signed off on. People in power have to be responsible for what they do, and last night showed America and the world that we have a president who clearly is not in that position today.
You know, you bad mouth President Biden and push a felon and a habitual lair, but you don’t give any other alternatives. Truth be told though, a write in vote would be a throw away vote. That still leaves us with the two people that are offered voters, even though there are far more parties than two parties, again throw away votes. Right back where we started and there are even devote Repugs who refuse to vote for the habitual liar and felon, but won’t vote for President Biden either. Even they knew the dotard was lying about everything during the debate, while President Biden doesn’t have the competence to be president. You aren’t offering anything to voters that will solve this issue. I’m sorry, but your 34 count felon won’t win either, so why are you pushing him so hard?
… I’m getting pretty old myself and a bit senile to boot, while desperately clinging to my relevance. But I can still muck it up with the best of them.’
Seriously? Who is running our country into the ground?
Jane Mayer | Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right
Why is America living in an age of profound economic inequality? Why, despite the desperate need to address climate change, have even modest environmental efforts been defeated again and again? Why have protections for employees been decimated? Why do hedge-fund billionaires pay a far lower tax rate than middle-class workers?
The conventional answer is that a popular uprising against “big government” led to the ascendancy of a broad-based conservative movement. But as Jane Mayer shows in this powerful, meticulously reported history, a network of exceedingly wealthy people with extreme libertarian views bankrolled a systematic, step-by-step plan to fundamentally alter the American political system.
The network has brought together some of the richest people on the planet. Their core beliefs—that taxes are a form of tyranny; that government oversight of business is an assault on freedom—are sincerely held. But these beliefs also advance their personal and corporate interests: Many of their companies have run afoul of federal pollution, worker safety, securities, and tax laws.
The chief figures in the network are Charles and David Koch, whose father made his fortune in part by building oil refineries in Stalin’s Russia and Hitler’s Germany. The patriarch later was a founding member of the John Birch Society, whose politics were so radical it believed Dwight Eisenhower was a communist. The brothers were schooled in a political philosophy that asserted the only role of government is to provide security and to enforce property rights.
When libertarian ideas proved decidedly unpopular with voters, the Koch brothers and their allies chose another path. …
So to answer your question it our own self delusions and obsession with gluttony - too much, never being enough - everyone wants a free ride, the most for the least effort, and the have nots, dream of becoming billionaires.
Stateless, where do you stand, beyond wanting to poop on everything?
Not my fault the DNC didnt listen to its base that screamed and shouted pick someone else not Joe Biden. Not my fault that the DNC hijack bernie’s campaign in 2016 that would have sanders as president and trump as history. Not my fault the DNC refused to hold debates during their primaries to showcase the candidates and show us who best would lead instead if gaslighting everyone that Joe is the one and never been better mentally, only now to be caught with its pants down with a lost aged and confused politician ,
The NYT , MSNBC and CNN have now called for Joe Bidens removal. They have never done this to a democrat before and this pickle is all in the Democrats making
I do remember some screaming. In the end it’s votes. There were good debates within the party in 2020. It doesn’t look good to challenge your incumbent. This year is very weird with two presumptive candidates. One of them will definitely be out in 2028 and maybe we’ll have good choices again.
Hersh asks a really important question . We all saw the state biden is in. He isnt running the country. So who is?
The billionaires are funding both biden and trump. NYT wrote about this last week.
How Billionaire Donors Are Reshaping the Trump-Biden Race” and the subhead: “Billionaires versus billionaires.”
The Times writes:
Donald Trump has rapidly erased his cash disadvantage against President Biden, out-raising his Democratic rival for a second straight month. Powering that fund-raising haul was a coterie of well-heeled supporters who donated millions shortly after the former president was convicted of 34 felony counts in New York.
But wealthy donors are still giving to Biden, and his campaign has used its big early financial lead to build a political machine in key battleground states. That means that success in November may come down in part to which side can keep tapping its billionaire backers for cash
All the talk all the messaging was that this was a the most important election ever because it was an election to save democracy. That messaging by the Democrat does not line up with how they have prosecuted this campaign and the last and the one previous to that
It’s been that way for a long time. What did you think? That people listen to the candidates’ thoughts on the issues, then study the issues, then choose by calculating who’s platform is more likely to result in a better future?
So mums the word?
What are you going to do with the situation?
As in your responsibility to yourself.
Really pissed off usually means really torn up inside.
Trust me, I know of what I speak.
On a certain level you have been correct with your observations and gut feelings, but details have blinded you to the whole. At least I get that feeling about you.
What do you think of the old troupe "if you want to free the world, free yourself first?
Stateless, if I were to ask you: Who Are You?
Can you come up with a thoughtful meaningful response, or are you a ball of confusion?
If the democrats and its spokesperson Biden are so worried about the threat to democracy why is it mums the word when it comes to Project 2025?. Can you figure this out. ? Why didnt biden bring this up in the debate???
