Tracking "the most ominous president ever" ~ as the horrors unfold

The Secret Service is adapting to the Trump Administration. Secret Service Adds Emotional Protection Division to Safeguard Trump's Psyche] You know things are bad when the the president's protectors have to guard his sanity, what little he has anyway.
Now that's news worth reading. ;-P actually perhaps I need some eye protection :coolsmirk:
... The new unit’s three dozen agents, who have undergone rigorous training to prepare for their challenging role, will be charged with defending the 45th president’s psychological well-being around the clock, investigating foreign and domestic threats to his self-esteem and quickly intercepting any spoken or written criticisms before they can harm his pride. “After conducting a full review of the operational procedures available to us, it became clear that adding this new division was the only way to meet President Trump’s emotional security needs," said Secret Service director Joseph Clancy, noting that the president’s detail is specially trained in assessing risks and minimizing any opportunity for him to feel insecure or belittled. “His psyche could be put in grave danger from unfavorable poll numbers or suddenly come under attack from a White House press corps heavily armed with uncomfortable questions." “All of our agents stand ready to lay down their lives to ensure nothing can hurt President Trump’s feelings," he added. ...
Well, he told you off, didn't he CC? How dare you not fall in lockstep with everything our government does. Only traitors exercise their Constitutional right to protest ur government's fascist behavior.
Darron, I give CC more credit than that. The points we are talking about is the evolution of liberals. Liberals evolved into progressive liberals. Progressive liberals were grew out of the colleges. We just had eight years of leadership by the progressive liberals. What we see happening was the progressive liberals melting into socialism. Today you have a lot of people thinking twice about which colleges to send their children to and thinking that the government funding for colleges and universities needs to be scaled back. I don’t want to be a socialist, and that could be what a progressive liberal is today. The public is catching on to what has been going on and they don’t like it. So, as the smoke is starting to clear from the disaster. How is the platforms going to be rebuilt? CC clearly wants socialism. The rest think that causing as much trouble for Trump is the answer. The next election will hit about the time high inflation is causing all kinds of trouble and that will all be blamed on Trump. Or will it? Progressive liberals may just be view by that time as dumb-ass radicals if they don’t change their methods and stay on the same path. And that is what we are debating. I want to move away from socialism and CC want to move more into socialism. It's amazing how well right wingers are at taking any dialogue and rewriting it to create straw men to fit into their own myopic arguments. Tell us Mike what is this feared "socialism" you speak of? Specifically where do I advocate this "socialism" of your's?
We just had eight years of leadership by the progressive liberals. What we see happening was the progressive liberals melting into socialism.
Please let's see if you can produce any specific substantive complaints, maybe help us create a mental profile of where you stand - let's start with this list.
Over the last 8 years, I was wondering: Why have you suffered so? Gays and lesbians can now marry and enjoy the benefits of which they had been deprived. Has this caused your suffering? Top CEOs make more than 300 times the average worker http://fortune.com/2015/06/22/ceo-vs-worker-pay/ Paul Hodgson Jun 22, 2015 In between 1978 and 2014, inflation-adjusted CEO pay increased by almost 1,000%, according to a report released on Sunday by the Economic Policy Institute. Meanwhile, typical workers in the U.S. saw a pay raise of just 11% during that same period. With these increases in mind, it should come as no surprise that the ratio between average American CEO pay and worker pay is now 303-to-1. This ratio is lower than its peak in 2000, when it was 376-to-1, but it's in excess of the 1965 ratio of 20-to 1. Average realized pay for CEOs at the top 350 firms as measured by revenue was up 3.9% between 2013 and 2014, and up by 54.3% since the recovery began in 2009. Meanwhile, most other workers have faced stagnant wages. But pay increases and ratios only tell part of the story. The stark differences are made concrete when translated into dollars and cents. In 1965, CEOs earned an average of $832,000 annually compared to $40,200 for workers. In 2014, CEO pay had risen to an average of $16,316,000 compared to only $53,200 for workers. ...

I got a better way for us to save a lot of time. Take your list and post it on a few Republican websites and see if they agree with you. Or if your list has a lot of spin. All I see here is a lot of items for the healing process of losing to the so called deplorable. Any way you look at it, there was over nine trillion dollars of extra money spent on top of a huge budget. And another ten trillion needs to be borrowed to keep all these programs in operation. Just how do you plan on paying the interest on that amount of money alone? You don’t care do you? The greed of D.C. will do nothing more that create suffering for the poor and working class in this country and any other countries that relies on the dollar.
The greed of D.C. will do nothing more that create suffering for the poor and working class in this country and any other countries that relies on the dollar.
We are in agreement on that. But,how about adding-up and thinking about all that monetary government waste when it comes to the money spent on idiotic strategies and wars that only guarantee more terror and blood and money expenditures? Or to ignoring the care and maintenance of this planet's biosphere that we depend on for everything? We send more tax dollars into self-obsessed corporate coffers than goes to, We The People, the peons that keep the system running and pay our taxes too. But Republicans aren't aware of any of that. Republicans only hate that some of the money is going outside of your faith-blinded right-wing tribe.
What’s wrong with socialism? For me it a nothing more than a caste system went it gets into operation, no matter what it is sold as.
Caste system? Socialism is exactly the opposite, unlike the oligarchy we have in place now.

Where exactly is that list of great socialist countries? Now do the socialist countries in the world have high paying CEO's? I don't think so. I want a scientific approach used. That’s why I have always pushed the datum line for data being established. Being right and knowing your right but not being able to prove you are right by good science can cause a setback or at the very least a lot of political slowdowns in fixing a problem that has no solid method of measuring the progress one way or another. When a story is published about Climate Change in the age of dinosaurs. How do you tell people that Climate Change is manmade effects on the natural climate? I believe we got to have the base line established to get this fixed by science and not by political pressure.

Germany, France, England, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway... I don’t have time to go through the whole list. I picked Germany. Our CIA says Germany is a federal parliamentary republic. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/gm.html A federal parliamentary republic refers to a federation of states with a republican form of government… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_parliamentary_republicederal To save time let’s define what is socialism. Under socialism the workers who operate the industries and services would collectively own and democratically manage them. In each factory and other workplace, the rank and file would elect their own immediate supervisors and management committees. They would also elect representatives to local and national assemblies of the industry or service in which they work, and to an all-industrial congress to coordinate production and distribution of all goods and services throughout the country. In short, socialism would replace the political government run by politicians with an industrial government run by workers and their elected representatives. http://www.slp.org/res_state_htm/socialism_m_p.html Now let’s be fair and compare apples to apples. Any capitalist country of size will build automobiles. Give me a list of automobiles built by socialist run companies and how they compare to automobiles built in capitalist run companies.

Mike, you need to add a sig line. “Words mean what I say they mean.”

Here is a better definition of socialism than the nonsense Mike posted.
Socialism - Wikipedia]

Socialist politics has been both centralist and decentralized; internationalist and nationalist in orientation; organized through political parties and opposed to party politics; at times overlapping with trade unions and at other times independent of, and critical of, unions; and present in both industrialized and developing countries. While all tendencies of socialism consider themselves democratic, the term "democratic socialism" is often used to highlight its advocates' high value for democratic processes in the economy and democratic political systems, usually to draw contrast to tendencies they may perceive to be undemocratic in their approach.
That is only part of the page. Socialism isn't just one thing, but at its heart socialism means taking care off everyone, not watching out just for the one percenters.

You have some valid points. The scope of socialism is quite wide at this time. Therefore I tried to narrow it down to the situation in America. As you are aware the biggest socialist country in the news today is Venezuela. And as it has shown, socialism starts off quite nice for the poor and working class. But look at it a decade or so later. Not so good. So we need to get down to the roots of what socialism is. Is welfare socialism. Let’s agree that it is a form of socialism without the socialism leadership. And that is not bad for a country to have welfare. We have a lot of socialist programs here in our country. But the big difference is that these programs are not controlled by a socialist government. And that is what I am trying to concentrate on. Now my question to you is if you look at Venezuela, do the people view a caste system in their country? And I feel that a lot of people here in America are viewing our policies as forming a type of caste system. Even if they are unaware of what a caste system is. It is in how they describe what is going on in the balance of wealth, the way laws are enforced and the way they are treated by the government.

When a country like ours has a rich 1% or 2% of the population.
Is it true they still only get one vote? Are they using money to buy more votes?
Who and what type of Americans would sell out their vote for money?
I think this last election has answered those questions.

They aren't buying votes, they are manipulating people with fear mongering fear mongering. They buy politicians who do their bidding.
Who and what type of Americans would sell out their vote for money?
It is a lot more complex than simply selling their votes. See above.
I think this last election has answered those questions.
Agreed. Witness all the Trump supporters who ignore his narcissism, sexual predation, and fascist tendencies. He railed against Hillary Clinton's Wall Street ties during the campaign and now filled his cabinet with Wall Street bankers and oil company executives. He manipulated people into thinking he was on their side and is doing the opposite of what he promised. The man lies all the time, yet convinced gullible voters that Hillary Clinton was the worse liar in the race. Trump is petty and vindictive, yet his supporters ignore that and make excuses for his behavior.

By actually learning about climate change and the various factors influencing and not constantly being blasted my emotional, partisan utter bull shit intended to stupefy and confuse. It really is fairly straight forward, just gotta open you mind to the objective evidence. Fool we know all we need to know. If we don't throttle back on this idiotic consumption obsessed economic model, we will exterminate our complex society, and the way we are going at it, you can bet most of humanity will also succumb before too many decades. If you had more appreciation for all it take to keep our complex society humming you'd appreciate that reality. But then you would also need to have some appreciation for natural systems which apparently you are oblivious too. https://public.wmo.int/en/media/press-release/state-of-climate-record-heat-and-weather-extremes http://climate.nasa.gov

Back to America’s new fascist party

Why Is Trump Adviser Wearing Medal of Nazi Collaborators? by Eli Clifton https://lobelog.com/why-is-trump-adviser-wearing-medal-of-nazi-collaborators/ ... Last Monday, Deputy Assistant to the President, Sebastian Gorka refused to admit that that it may have been poor judgment not to specifically acknowledge the suffering of Jews in the Holocaust. Gorka was an odd choice of proxies for the White House to put forward in defense of its Holocaust Remembrance day statement. He has appeared in multiple photographs wearing the medal of a Hungarian group listed by the State Department as having collaborated with the Nazis during World War II. When asked on Monday whether the White House’s Holocaust Remembrance Day statement was “questionable in being the first such statement in many years that didn’t recognize that Jewish extermination was the chief goal of the Holocaust," Gorka told conservative talk show host Michael Medved:
No, I’m not going to admit it. Because it’s asinine. It’s absurd. You’re making a statement about the Holocaust. Of course it’s about the Holocaust because that’s what the statement’s about. It’s only reasonable to twist it if your objective is to attack the president.
That statement is particularly noteworthy when viewed in the context of Gorka’s apparent affinity for a Hungarian group with a checkered past. Gorka, who worked in the UK and Hungary before immigrating to the U.S., was photographed at an inaugural ball wearing a medal from the Hungarian Order of Heroes, Vitezi Rend, a group listed by the State Department as taking direction from Germany’s Nazi government during World War II. Gorka did not respond to a request for comment but appeared to be wearing the medal on his chest during the Trump inauguration ball and in an undated photo posted on his Facebook page.
there's plenty more, check the link.

The point being, there are reporters and science writers around the world that can't get the difference between Global Warming and Climate Change. It is catching on here in the USA, but we are only 5% of the population. Have you checked to see how the rest of the world is understanding the problem? What is a reasonable time to get this understood worldwide? Take carbon offsetting schemes that began back in 1989 and really took off in 2009. Twenty-eight years in the news and being reported and yet it is not a well understood subject. You seem to think that to fix the problems all the people have to do is follow your instructions. Which are to point fingers at the rich and corporations. Which is crazy, because it is the rich and big corporations that are creating the carbon free energy solutions. If you really believed in what you are saying about throttling back, then why is the Left pushing Globalization? Globalization is not throttling back, it is full speed ahead with carbon consumption. You post about record heat levels with no separation between the natural and man-made heat. You post NASA which has no solutions on fixing the problem. So when you state "throttle back", what do you mean? How is this throttling back you are talking about suppose to work for all the people around the world? That's what I would like some details on. http://journalofcosmology.com/ClimateChange116.html https://www.theguardian.com/science/2016/jul/06/dinosaurs-killed-off-by-one-two-punch-of-climate-change-and-asteroid-strike-study
