Tracking "the most ominous president ever" ~ as the horrors unfold

I think you missed the point. The point being, there are reporters and science writers around the world that can't get the difference between Global Warming and Climate Change.
There you go spreading that bullshit again. Just because a few reporters and the public are confused doesn't mean scientists are confused. That's the difference between ignorance and reality. BTW, as I've posted out before, it was the Republicans who spread this alternative fact to confuse people and make global warming sound less ominous, and you're doing your part to propagate the propaganda. Alliteration. I love it.

Meanwhile, comedy shows all over the world are lampooning Trump’s America First obsession. I think the Danish did it best.
America First, Denmark Second]

I can understand why people who want to see our government destroyed like this Trump and all he’s bringing with him.
But what about real Americans? People who were brought up to believe in a system of government, governing and civility.
People who still hold values of integrity, respect, honest curiosity, a touch of humor and self-deprecation to keep it real.
Can someone explain why those salt of the earth’s American’s would trust this guy with their government?
V, got any ideas?

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/trump-leaked-audio-clubs-guests-235161 Darren Samuelsohn Annie Karni President Donald Trump, living alone inside the White House, often hungers for friendly interaction as he adjusts to the difficult work of governance. At his clubs, he finds what’s missing. That showed last November at a cocktail and dinner reception celebrating longtime members of his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club. Deep into the process of meeting potential Cabinet nominees, the president-elect invited partygoers to stop by the next day to join the excitement. “We’re doing a lot of interviews tomorrow — generals, dictators, we have everything," Trump told the crowd, according to an audiotape of his closed-to-the-press remarks, obtained by POLITICO from a source in the room. “You may wanna come around. It’ll be fun. We’re really working tomorrow. We have meetings every 15, 20 minutes with different people that will form our government." "We’re going to be interviewing everybody — Treasury, we’re going to be interviewing secretary of state," he continued. “We have everybody coming in — if you want to come around, it’s going to be unbelievable … so you might want to come along." As he prepares to spend the third straight weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, the tape provides a window into how Trump conducts himself away from the prying press and among the loyal faces of his club. ...

From Trump’s Mar-a-Lago to Facebook, a National Security Crisis in the Open By MICHAEL D. SHEAR and MAGGIE HABERMAN - FEB. 13, 2017 https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/13/us/politics/mar-a-lago-north-korea-trump.html?_r=0 WASHINGTON — President Trump and his top aides coordinated their response to North Korea’s missile test on Saturday night in full view of diners at Mr. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida — a remarkable public display of presidential activity that is almost always conducted in highly secure settings. The scene — of aides huddled over their computers and the president on his cellphone at his club’s terrace — was captured by a club member dining not far away and published in pictures on his Facebook account. The images also show Mr. Trump conferring with his guest at the resort, Shinzo Abe, the Japanese prime minister.

A club member posted images of the national security discussion on Facebook.

Asked by Rep. James Lankford (R-OK) about why Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to make more of an effort to interfere in the 2016 presidential election than in years past, Watts, who is now a a fellow at George Washington University’s Center for Cyber and Homeland Security, said, “the answer is very simple and it’s what nobody is really saying in this room." “Which is, part of the reason active measures have worked in this U.S. election is because the Commander-in-Chief [Trump] has used Russian active measures at times, against his opponents," Watts continued. ... “In late July, Sputnik and RT — both Russian state-controlled media outlets — pointed to a fire near a NATO base. . . During his testimony, Watts noted that Manafort and Trump used the “debunked" Turkey story “as a talking point." It was recently revealed that Manafort did secret propaganda work on behalf of Putin before working for Trump. Watts’ second example was Trump using a fake news story to attack Clinton during an October 10 rally in Wilkes-Barre. ... (story worth reading)

More like The Onion, but the stories are real. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/03/30/522093187/ex-trump-adviser-flynn-seeks-immunity-before-testifying-on-russia-contacts Now Trump's short-time National Security Advisor is seeking immunity to testify. It will be interesting to watch this play out, and I hope the investigating bodies move quickly.

This space intentionally left blank. OK. It wasn’t intentional. I deleted a duplicate post. Dang. Now this page is no longer blank.
Never mind.
P.S. I blame the forum software’s overzealous spam filter. See below.

And because the forum software won’t let me have more than one link in a post, here’s a related story. Trump advised Flynn to seek immunity in return for his testimony. Flynn’s warrior said the usual client defense stuff.

Flynn's attorney, Robert Kelner, said no "reasonable person" who has a lawyer would answer questions without assurances that he would not be prosecuted, given calls from some members of Congress that the retired lieutenant general should face criminal charges.
But Flynn had a different take on immunity during the campaign. While on Meet the Press criticized Hillary Clinton immunity during an FBI investigation in server gate.
"When you are given immunity, that means that you have probably committed a crime," Flynn said during the interview.
Trump's administration is becoming even more inept and corrupt than we imagined, yet his supporters refuse to think about what he's doing.

I don't know if Trump supporters refuse to think about what he's doing - probably more like they don't think it's that bad.

Curiouser and Curiouser:
Blackwater founder held secret Seychelles meeting to establish Trump-Putin backchannel ]
Seems Mr. Prince has been doing some behind-the-scenes negotiating with the Russians.

And, of course, we have all heard about Trump firing James Comey a few days before Comey was scheduled to testify before a Senate committee.
