Mriana: Unless Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren get into office and keep their promises about student loan forgiveness, I’ll have this debt with me until I’m 6 feet underground, because I didn’t make money as a substitute teacher, a waitress, a writer, or a cashier in which to pay any of my student loans.
Hey Mriana, did you see the news below?
Presidential contender Sen. Elizabeth Warren said on Tuesday that she would begin to eliminate student loan debt on the first day of her administration, using legal tools that would allow her to bypass Congress. (CNBC.Published Tue, Jan 14 2020)
Warren said she will direct her Secretary of Education to begin to “compromise and modify” federal student loans up to $50,000 for 95% of those with outstanding student debt, or 42 million people.
No, the Trump family likes to kill endangered species.
Back in 2012, photos surfaced of the elder Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, proudly posing with the carcasses of dead animals they hunted while on a big-game hunting expedition in Africa. The photos showed Donald and Eric posing with a lifeless cheetah, Donald clenching a knife along with the bloody, sawed-off tail of an elephant, and the pair posing next to a crocodile hanging from a noose off of a tree.
@Sree It probably would, but I think Bernie has better plans, not just for student loan debt, but also for health care. In fact, I know his plan for health care is better than Elizabeth Warren’s and I am in more favour of him than for Warren, but if she were to win the primaries and ran against the dotard, I wouldn’t reject voting for her. I really don’t want to have to vote for Biden though. Warren has admitted she is a corporate democrat in the past and therefore she is in second place for me. Bernie is first place and personally, I rather have any of those still in the primaries, than Biden in my third place position. I’m concerned with more than just student loan debt. I care about health care (socialized medicine preferable), immigration (not the dotard’s form of extermination immigration), Social Security (making sure it’s not cut, which Biden would do, but rather making sure it stays in place for all of us), housing, boosting labour unions’ power again, and more. I’m not just about student loan debt (mine and other people’s) but a whole lot more. Oh and let’s not forget Climate Change. Bernie Sanders is also concerned about climate change and Warren as a corporate dem, unless she’s changed her mind about that, may side with greedy corporations. Just as she may go back on her promise and go with greedy institutions.
Oneguy, You think it is unfortunate that the US military is not allowed to rape and pillage, these days?
Mriana, If Biden wins the Dem nomination, I think he will have a long long way to go to inspire the progressive part of the party (who are rapidly closing in on 1/2 of the total constituency). And if he doesn’t, and is thus without the full fledged support of that major part of the party, then his appeal to some “independents” in swing states may not be enough to win the Presidency.
I am calling him 20th Century Joe. It’s time for America to actually progress into the 21st Century (a fifth of it is already over).
First day of her administration? I don’t know. I think that is promising a bit much and probably won’t happen.
Cancel All Existing Student Debt
Bernie believes that money would be better spent on freeing millions of hardworking people from the burden of student debt, boosting the economy by $1 trillion over the next ten years, and creating up to 1.5 million new jobs every year. By canceling student debt, we will save the average student loan borrower around $3,000 a year in student loan payments. That money will be freed up to spend on everything from housing to starting a business.
When Bernie is in the White House, he will:
Cancel the entire $1.6 trillion in outstanding student debt for the 45 million borrowers who are weighed down by the crushing burden of student debt. This will save around $3,000 a year for the average student loan borrower.
AND
He’ll make college debt free for all. You may think this sound far-fetch and undoable, but some European countries have done this already and that’s the model he’s look at to do this.

And middle class people are generally too ethical to scam their way to going on Safaris, or to afford such. And most would probably not feel pride at standing by the variously dismembered bodies of animals as somehow representing their personal prowess.
Mriana: Bernie has other issues I am in highly in favour of https://berniesanders.com/issues/ He’s also not a corporate/establishment dem
What about the poor, folks who don't even have social security or pensions? I saw this youtube documentary yesterday about poverty in America. Worse off than those homeless folks living in cars in California are the ones on food stamps in Appalachia.
@Sree Have you read what Bernie has proposed via the link I posted? Your question is dealt with and he will take care of all of that. People will get socialized medicine- ALL people. They will get Social Security and people will have food and housing. Not sure why you even asked that question.
Mriana: Have you read what Bernie has proposed via the link I posted?
Yeah, I glanced through his pitch. This old man is 78 and just had a heart attack. He is proposing to do something that is more impressive than doing a 500 pound deadlift on one leg. I don't understand how he managed to have such passionate followers. I don't think Bernie Sanders believe what he is saying. He would keel over from shock if he won and had to do what he promises.
He also had a surgery after the heart attack that will prolong his life, possibly for years. He could be 90 years old when he dies. His doctors also cleared him to campaign. I also believe he does believe what he’s saying. He’s been saying it for more than 50 years and I think he can do what he says, if people gave him a chance. As for Warren, she’s admitted publicly she is a corporate dem. She’s with the establishment and we cannot continue electing those with the establishment because they aren’t going to make things any better. She says she has a plan for this and that, but when greedy corporations start pushing her, she’ll cave just as she turned on Bernie when he started jumping ahead in the polls.
That said, have you noticed how old Elizabeth Warren is? The same you say for her, concerning age, isn’t much different. Granted, she’s not had a heart attack, but it could apply. Thing is, everyone younger than they are, that I somewhat agreed with on certain things, have dropped out. Kamla might have been OK, except her record as an attorney disturbed me. Castro would have been a riot as president, in name only. Castro v Castro in a new bay of pigs. Nevermind, you have to be old enough to know history or went to a school that actually taught history.
Be that as it may, the only one who could actually beat the dotard is the old man. The dotard will do the same thing to Warren as he did to Hillary. He’d be slamming her right and left and all the other crap and while Warren may win the popular vote, the dotard will steal the election with the help of his bed buddy Putin. Bloomberg is so rich he could buy the election, which he’s trying, just like the dotard who has his lover Putin to help him. Biden is too centrist to win and by your standard, too old, which makes me curious= If 78 is too old, what makes you think the dotard isn’t too old and won’t have a stroke or heart attack tomorrow? Oh right, the orange dude isn’t human.
I think Bernie or Elizabeth could beat T rump, as well as any of the other Dem candidates who are running. But why are the oldies ahead in the polls? Because of name recognition? Because of experience? We haven’t had a particularly experienced President since George W. and he was a disaster.
I suggest looking at the candidates who have not spent most of their adult lives in the 20th Century.
Mriana: Bloomberg is so rich he could buy the election, which he’s trying, just like the dotard who has his lover Putin to help him.
You don't like Bloomberg? He is also an old guy but looks fit enough. He has enough money to blow Trump away. My guess is that Soros would back him and, together with Bloomberg's money, they could churn up a tornado to send Trump all the way to Kansas.
Mriana: Biden is too centrist to win and by your standard, too old, which makes me curious= If 78 is too old, what makes you think the dotard isn’t too old and won’t have a stroke or heart attack tomorrow? Oh right, the orange dude isn’t human.
Frankly, Biden is the only candidate that can come on, visually, like a US President but he is not only too old, he is crooked and looks it. Trump is in his early seventies and is astonishing for a guy his age. I guess he likes being President and the job invigorates him. He is following his bliss, as Joseph Campbell would say. He is self-centered, likes attention, and now he is the center of the universe. Imagine him, as a younger man, running across the street in New York to introduce himself to Paul Volcker. Trump will be immortalized with a Presidential Library, hopefully in Central Park. What do you say?
No I do not like Bloomberg nor do I think Biden is the best choice either. Biden is a centrist and Bloomberg is so rich can buy the election, which is what he’s trying to do. Bernie is grassroots funded and doing very well. Warren is allegedly grassroots too. They’re not greedy like Bloomberg and the fact that they have grassroots funding shows that they are very much supported by the people and not buying their way into the office.
The dotard will be immortalized as the criminal he is and it’s not the presidency he likes. It the power and control he feels with it and he’s greedy for power, control and money. Greed is not a virtue and I don’t think Joseph Campbell would consider greed following one’s bliss. No religion appreciates greed. The thing is Biden can’t beat the dotard, but Bernie can.
