Putin underestimates Ukrainian toughness, resourcefulness, humor

They were called The Paris Peace Accords. But m guessing you apply a “No True Scotsman” fallacy to them.

But what about what the Ukrainians, who are being attacked by Russia (Putin giving the orders to do so) think and feel? It’s the Ukrainians’ land Putin is attempting to steal through force, not Russia’s. Then again, you are probably the guy who supports the White man concerning the Native Americans and their land.

We aren’t in the Ukraine and if you are talking about supplying them with weapons… We aren’t the only country doing that.

No, Russia is escalating the war, by selecting civilian targets and the world is reacting by supporting Ukraine in resisting Russia’s criminal behavior.
Putin is a war criminal and needs to tried and convicted for “war crimes”.
The world is his judge.

You are not the judge of the US in this issue. You seem to be party to the crime committed by Russia.

We hear the Ukrainian voices all the time in a corporate led media

US military and CIA in Ukraine. More will come with the patriot missiles are shipped over for training

Must be peace because the word is in its name. Thats all it takes!!

Sounds like sarcasm. So we agree. They held peace talks for 5 years, with very little progress. Nixon might have sabotaged them.

And are they in favor of a Russian invasion and destruction of their country?

US military and CIA in Ukraine. More will come with the patriot missiles are shipped over for training

You’re damn right, until Putin gives up this criminal enterprise and withdraws all Russian troops from Ukraine. Only then will there be peace.

Ukraine did not start this war, but it will finish it. Give it up Russia, you cannot win this criminal invasion of a peaceful sovereign country. The UN is charging you with war crimes and accusing you as the criminal aggressor. The price Russia will pay is going to be dear and will teach Russia a lesson to give up dreams of an Empire once and for all time.

What a waste of resources. It will bankrupt Russia long before the world gives up helping Ukraine resist this criminal invasion of a sovereign country.

Probably because Russia invaded them.

No its your dumbing down of history. It was never about peace with the US immediately recognising the GVN as the sole legitimate government in South Vietnam once it was signed.

A delay tactic just as merkel admitted recently she did in 2014 for the minsk accord

Not as you are in the destruction of Russia

Because corporate media loves a war and long one at that.

Who fired the first shot?

Seems to me that authoritarian Russia loves acquisition of territory and a lot at that. History proves it .

Compare this map of Russia with its neighboring countries And tell me Russia does not have grandiose dreams and is not territory hungry.

Is Russia the largest country in the world?

Yes

The largest country in the world is Russia with a total area of 17,098,242 Km² (6,601,665 mi²) and a land area of 16,376,870 Km² (6,323,142 mi²), equivalent to 11% of the total world’s landmass of 148,940,000 Km² (57,510,000 square miles).

How did Russia get so big when it only has the 14th largest population?

Its well known in Russia that America have for a long time wanted to break up Russia

And why would the US want to do such a thing? Are you talking about the USSR, the Communist Autocracy that was gobbling up Europe country by country and threatening Western Europe?

The Soviet Union ,

The Soviet Union,[n] officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics[o] (USSR),[p] was a transcontinental country that spanned much of Eurasia from 1922 to 1991.

A flagship communist state, it was nominally a federal union of fifteen national republics;[q] in practice, both its government and its economy were highly centralized until its final years.

It was a one-party state governed by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, with the city of Moscow serving as its capital as well as that of its largest and most populous republic: the Russian SFSR. Other major cities included Leningrad (Russian SFSR), Kiev (Ukrainian SSR), Minsk (Byelorussian SSR), Tashkent (Uzbek SSR), Alma-Ata (Kazakh SSR), and Novosibirsk (Russian SFSR). It was the largest country in the world, covering over 22,402,200 square kilometres (8,649,500 sq mi) and spanning eleven time zones.

Following Lenin’s death in 1924, Joseph Stalin came to power.[8] Stalin inaugurated a period of rapid industrialization and forced collectivization that led to significant economic growth, but also contributed to a famine in 1930–1933 that killed millions.

The labour camp system of the Gulag was also expanded in this period. Stalin conducted the Great Purge to remove his actual and perceived opponents.

After the outbreak of World War II, Germany invaded the Soviet Union. The combined Soviet civilian and military casualty count—estimated to be around 27 million people—accounted for the majority of losses of Allied forces.

In the aftermath of World War II, the territory taken by the Red Army formed various Soviet satellite states.

The beginning of the Cold War saw the Eastern Bloc of the Soviet Union confront the Western Bloc of the United States, with the latter grouping becoming largely united in 1949 under NATO and the former grouping becoming largely united in 1955 under the Warsaw Pact.

Following Stalin’s death in 1953, a period known as de-Stalinization occurred under the leadership of Nikita Khrushchev.

So when did the US threaten Russia? Maybe it was Russia threatening to take all of Europe and that is why NATO was formed ?

Do you think you are winning this exchange? You are just digging yourself deeper and deeper in a hole of misinformation, propaganda , and general ignorance of world affairs.

You must be from Russia, listen to the Government News Channel, and believe every word of the propaganda. We’ve had a lot of Russian trolls come through here and try to convince us that Russia is right and the Ukraine is wrong, but the truth is, Russia attacked and invaded first. The Ukraine hasn’t invaded Russia nor are they attempting to take any Russian land/territory. Also, at least since Stalin, if not longer, Russia hasn’t been known to play fair and murders a LOT of people for disagreeing with Russia. They currently have more people in prison just for protesting Putin’s attacks and war with the Ukraine.

write4u, I’m beginning to believe he’s another Russian troll. If people won’t believe them, they only get worse with the propaganda. We’ve all seen this before on the forum Of course, I’m also beginning to believe they work for Putin too, attempting to convince us Russia is right about this, when they are in fact not. It’s the same old history, only this time we don’t have a world war. Russia is attempting to slowly gobble up countries again, since the Cold War ended and the Iron Curtain fell, causing them to lose their grip on any countries that were freed from their Iron Fist.

I met a woman who lived in Indiana. She went to University in St Petersburg, but had to flee back to Latvia when that city became Leningrad. When her country was occupied she was a refugee, then became an American. So to her, the breakup of the USSR was the freeing of her country.

You may or may may not be deliberately trolling, but you are definitely raising issues that are incorrect and require untwisting. That’s what trolls do.

The media didn’t cause wars, but they do profit when people want to get news about them. We have military industrial complex that is helping perpetuate war, but defending Ukrainians is still morally a good choice.

This is another example of your “trolling whether you realize it or not”. It could be that you didn’t understand my meaning, which could mean you are having difficulties tracking this discussion, or it could be you aren’t even a real person, that you are a bot that picks out key words and makes up angry responses. It doesn’t matter, it’s disruptive and unproductive no matter what.

I brought up the peace talks in Vietnam as an example of “stalling”, as you say Merkel was doing with the Minsk accords. Maybe she was, that’s not my argument. Germany, the US, and Russia are all guilty of doing something like that at different times in history, that was my point. I don’t claim one country is morally superior and another should have its regime changed. I’d like all governments to make big strides toward democracy and transparency, but I don’t expect that to happen soon.

The poll, that you seem to believe indicates Russians are interested in “peace”, looks to me more like they want Ukraine to surrender. That would be “peace” of a sort, in that current fighting would stop, but given that Russia is “recruiting” soldiers from prisons, that peace would most likely be temporary. Putin, or whomever replaces him, would most likely force Ukrainians to fight in his next war.
