Political Optics

Yes, lust for money and power and the corruption it can cause has always existed. Those examples were much different from today’s corporations in form and function.

A big difference was those people contributed to their societies instead of simply making money for the sake of it. The old Italian business families even ushered in the Rennaissance.

That makes him the perfect “middle of the road” representative of the American experiment.

The best governance model for a country is a balanced socio-economic system,
that encourages and supports innovation and efficiency in commerce and acts as a not-for-profit administration of commonly shared public services and enforcement/adjudication of individual public responsibilities.

In order to be representative of the people in a country with diverse cultural norms and practices, the people should elect those representatives that best reflect their positive social values and practices, so that those cultural norms have freedom of expression and can contribute to the general cultural richness of the Nation.

The current SCOTUS ruling that money is a form of free speech and may be used to fund political campaigns is incompatible with the concept of representative government. It is the greatest blunder committed by the SCOTUS in its entire existence.

Money is not free speech. Money is a “means of exchange” and binds the recipient to a “quid pro quo” contract with the donor. When the donor is a for-profit corporation (disguised as a non-profit) the political playing field becomes skewed in favor of the donor class and monetary debt should never be the decisive factor in electing “representatives” of the "people.

Anarchists tell : " If elections could really change life, they would have been banned long ago.", or “If elections could really change life, the bourgeoisie would have banned them long ago.”

In fact capitalists have done better for them : they have changed them or a marketable good.

Anarchists tell : " If elections could really change life, they would have been banned long ago.", or “If elections could really change life, the bourgeoisie would have banned them long ago.”

Why should there have to be a question of change when you have a fair and just system?

In fact capitalists have done better for them : they have changed them or a marketable good.

In what way? Health care?, Social security? Education?

IMO, Capitalists have corrupted the basic tenets this nation was founded on.

The term Capitalism does not mean “kill the free-market system” in favor of an Monolpoly and Oligarchy.

The key-word in all of this is “balance”. This is a law of Nature.
A balanced system can produce stable growth within natural permissible limits.

AGW is a sign of an unbalanced system.

Anthropogenic global warming is a theory explaining today’s long-term increase in the average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere as an effect of human industry and agriculture.

What you see here is the waste product of millions of dollars in profits.

Let’s re-examine this statement;

(In fact “capitalists” have done better for them : they have changed them or a marketable good.)

In fact “slavery” is the perfect form of a Capitalist system!
Maximum profit with least expenses. It works very well for a few.
Just not for everybody!

Ahead of its time. Many people didnt know what it was saying in 1989 . Whether its god or a bomb its just the same its only fear under another name

You are born into this world
Looking down the barrel of a gun
And those who hold the gun
Want you to work fast and die young
And if you don’t work
If you don’t obey
They’ll make you live in fear till your dying day
Those who govern hold the gun to your head
With religions, corporations, proud of blood
They’ve shed

Whether it’s God or the bomb
It’s just the same
It’s only fear under another name
And the corporate snakes coming in to feed
On that pathetic fact known as human greed
Skin and bone being raked over those hot coals
This dump never seems to give time for human soul
And all those things that we have learnt
No time for questions, you’ll just get burnt
You’ll just get burnt

And those words crush you flat
Like your skull’s under a brick
And the fear’s so damned strong
That it makes you sick
And you can see right through those eyes
That make you fear, that make you lie
And you’re taught to hold high
Yet you wonder why
Dumb values forced upon you by the living lie

The whole song is twisted. Life doesn’t have to be that way. It’s greedy corporations and a government that supports greedy corporation. That can be changed to a more humanistic society.

What we need is gun control!

That and of gun lobbyists, like the NRA, and greedy gun makers too. We also need to get control of ghost guns and crap like that, as well as the Black Market.

Take your own advice my friend. You keep changing the subject when challenged, accuse instead of ask, insult instead of educate, broad brush with no nuance.

I’m thinking of the Political Optics of GOP’s promise of revenge for all who oppose them.

Run, Ken, Run! Texas AG Flees From Process Server

Yesterday, a process server tried to serve a subpoena to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a case brought by a nonprofit that seeks to financially assist women seeking abortions out of state. And though that’s a particularly controversial issue in Texas, you’d think that was a fairly straightforward interaction for the state’s top attorney. …

Oh lordie this one is precious and this fits under the Political OPTICS!!! category.

So this is how the Texas Attorney General respects the laws he’s sword to enforce.

The pathetic mouse . . .

Yeah love the GOP OPTICS:

# Indicted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton mocked for running away from subpoena server

In a tweet, Paxton claimed he feared for his family’s safety, yet {he sent} his wife went outside to start the getaway vehicle.

I’ll bet he does feels his entitled life is threatened, but that’s because he’s another crook about to face the consequences of being a law breaker and getting caught, bless his pea pick’n hart.

“Middle of the road” politics is good for stable times. We are unstable right now and need candidates who are willing to make big changes.

No, the concentration on money made it possible for a “conman” to weave a tale of doom and gloom that only he could fix and it worked.

Remember this : https://www.politico.com/video/2020/08/20/trump-at-2016-rnc-i-alone-can-fix-it-085403

They believed him and he completely broke the system and it ended up in a violent insurrection against his own corruption that he blamed the Demeocrats for. The “sheeple” took the bait hook, line, and sinker.

Trump broke the system and he is still at it. An insane narcissistic megalomaniac who has created an image of an “Orange Jesus”.

Biden has brought a measure of sanity and stability back to the political discourse.

What kind of changes would you suggest?

How do you envision the world in the next ten years?

Turning away from Neoliberalism – which is laissez faire economics mixed with socially liberal attitudes – is probably the most important change we could make. Almost all other problems we have are related to it.

In ten years I think the US will be much weaker but things won’t be a lot different from the way it is now.

That sounds about right to me. It makes the human race an invasive species that will kill or destroy everything in its immediate environment, instead of cultivating the environment for diversity..

And Repugs don’t have a laissez faire attitude about corporations and their economics? Please! They do, I assure you they do.

This is really disturbing. Losing his marbles before our very eyes

Speaking at a conference on food insecurity, Biden thanked a list of lawmakers who sponsored a bill establishing the conference. Walorski, a Republican from Indiana, was among them.

“Jackie, are you here?” Biden asked as he scanned the crowd. “Where’s Jackie? I think she wasn’t going to be here,” he trailed off.

Walorski died in early August, in a car crash that also killed two of her staffers. At the time of her death, Biden issued a statement saying that himself and First Lady Jill Biden were “shocked and saddened” by her passing, and “appreciated her partnership” as they planned for Wednesday’s conference.

I do appreciate that Biden is no saint, and but we do the best with what we have. He sure beat the kind of unhinged from reality WTF stuff that trump and his trumpsters embrace.
