Political Optics

You are really disturbing . You’ve lost your marbles a long time ago, before our very eyes.

Biden had a momentary memory lapse. You seem to have incurred a

permanent mental lapse… image

Your man, the dotard, embarrassed a whole nation more than once, showing how demented he is, so why you picking on President Biden?

Yeah, talk about bad optics. Maybe it’s a good thing many of the most prominent heads of state in the world aren’t much younger than Biden.

No doubt the GOP are the biggest corporate butt kissers. It’s been their MO for decades. Democrats started catching up to them in the 90’s.

Pretty much. We have to move past the free market for any “Green” policies to work.

That’s one of the rare things you’ve said that I do agree with.

I’ve talked myself out of this twice now, but I’m back.
Seems to me it’s time to swing this back to Political Optics,
Here’s one of those precious stories that’s as old a trump-headlines and says all we need to know about donald trumpkin’s head and heart:

The company that man keeps is very telling.
MAGAman
Loser is as loser does.

They know you by the company you keep.

Crooks of a feather flock together

Perhaps it’s time for a blast from the past, with half a year left to go S.V. Date asks the MAGAman president (now the sore loser to his chance at a second term) thee big question. Talk about Politics Optics of the moment!

Mr. Trump: ‘Do you regret all the lying to Americans?’

What a “leader” MAGAman!

What is it that some love about that slug? Guy not sure you’ve ever tried to help explain the trumpster’s appeal to so many scared angry people. Is it simply that he justifies and fuels their anger is that his attraction like some super professional wrestler in the Satan With a Halo costume.

What should we think of GOP two faced liars such as Kevin McCarthy?

During a private meeting last summer, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told two police officers who defended the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, and the mother of a third who died after the riot, that former President Donald Trump had no idea his supporters were carrying out the attack, according to newly obtained audio of the conversation. #CNN #News

Unfortunately, it’s not illegal to lie. It used to matter. Strange how getting more information has made it more common to be caught lying but suffer no consequences.

Fanone on recording the call with McCarthy:

“But I’m glad I recorded it. That’s why I recorded it, was because I didn’t expect Kevin McCarthy to, No. 1, tell the truth; No. 2, recount the conversation accurately; and No. 3, I wanted to show people how indifferent lawmakers are, not just Republican lawmakers, but all lawmakers, to the actual American people that they are representing,” he told CNN’s Brianna Keilar on “New Day.”

He knew up front that McCarthy would lie and would try to squirm his way out of it.

Except under oath. Some of the dotard’s men have gone to prison for perjury.

Right, in specific circumstances, lying will get you in trouble. People who are good at it know.

Today, lying is a negotiable asset instead of a liability.
The bigger the lie, the bigger the pay-off!

After all money (quid pro quo) is no longer an IOU.
Today money is free speech. IOW, the more money, the more free the speech.

That would be the dotard, his cronies, and his minions who would be good at it and apparently know, yet the dotard will pardon them.

Lets talk Political Optics of the GOP’s War Against American Civility.

The man who allegedly attacked Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s husband early Friday posted memes and conspiracy theories on Facebook about Covid vaccines, the 2020 election and the January 6 attack.

Trump allies are leading a pro-QAnon Christian Nationalist roadshow where conspiracy theories and shady prophecies come together to fight the left and “save America.” HuffPost reporter Christopher Mathias and political historian Nicole Hemmer join Mehdi to discuss.

Slip sliding away.

With the help GOP Court Stacking

A federal judge has denied a lawsuit requesting a restraining order against Clean Elections USA, a group whose members are accused of participating in voter intimidation tactics at drop boxes. NBC’s Vaughn Hillyard reports.

Federal Judge Denies Restraining Order On Arizona Ballot Drop Box Watchers

Michael T. Liburdi - Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona

Yes it is very bad and getting worse - when good people stand silent shit will happening and it’ll get nothing but uglier. Face it this thirst for violence is what this trump’s GOP is all about.

Kurt Bardella on The Beat – Republicans Think Violence Against Democrats is a Joking Matter

===============
Just got back from a walk with my Maddy, now I’m off to day of chores in Cortez, so no time to muse, or write. But I wanted to mention the seeming futility of it all. I mean this GOP slide into pure sociopathic, anti-society behavior, Ayn Rand dream come true, where the only truth that matters is one’s own person expectations.

Learning is suspended because we have facades and ‘positions’ to defend - learning from experience and facing one’s mistakes, becomes a personal affront - me, me, me is master. Then I’ve always been told, well the Democrats are just as bad, and everyone nodes.

Are they really?!?

I mean GOP is in a sustained war against our pluralistic constitution and the form of government that created.

My thoughts turned dark because of that philosophy club meeting and being hit with the reality that around 25 young people, and no one could speak to
“learning from admitting to one’s mistakes” or “constructive learning” or that “honesty matters.” Where’s that leave as the world turns very weird on us?

I imagine I always figured by this point in time even the most “skeptical” would have to admit to the truth of what scientists have been learning and sharing - I never could have imagined this collective doubling down on Fantasy Thinking on one side, and their utter disconnect and turtle reflex on the other. Fascinating, but upsetting.

I posted this at another thread, but I gotta run and I want to leave the thought dangling see if anyone want’s to pick up on it.

But the thing my thoughts keep going back to is the general feeling of futility and hopelessness at changing any minds, culminating in his asking: Okay so when’s the last time any of you have had your minds changed, or been able to change anyone else’s? And everyone was stymied.
No one objected, no one was able to point out that they could separate Learning From Facts from the needs of their EGOs and Vanity.

Seems to me I can think of all sorts of times my opinions have been changed by new facts.
I’m as vain as anyone, I can be shockingly gullible and wrong, I have my pride, heck even got the hot head in me, though I’m not proud of it and try to keep a lid on it, but there it is. Point is, I believe in myself and I got passions, but christ almighty when I’m wrong about something, with the facts presented and an explanation about why I’m wrong and what I’d been missing - that’s that. Might hurt my ego, might piss me off, heck might take a little time to soak in if it’s important. It’s called learning.

If understanding is one’s life is a personal mission, honesty is a requirement.

see ya

I think that I am going to find a ballot box watcher and in full combat gear start watching him with a big gun laying beside me.

Then when he leaves, follow him to his house.

I wonder if he would show up the next day.

Be sure to have good video of every move you make. I’m kind of surprised someone has not already done this. It’s not that hard to get to know the laws about how far away from the polling places you need to be, where you can loiter on public streets, where you can park legally. Any march or protest I’ve ever done, they always cover that stuff.

I’m not sure about the following someone part, but I can’t see anything illegal about it either.

The watcher being watched … :grimacing:
