Julian Assange: 24 hr Countdown to Day X (vid live from 0830h)

Day X is the new public hearing date for Julian Assange. This could be the last
chance to stop his Extradition to the United States where he faces a 175 year
sentence. An effective death sentence.

In this countdown, we will be providing you with a complete overview of what
Julian Assange is facing at the two day public hearing that starts on the 20th
Feb at 8:30 am GMT.

We will then be going live from outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

I always thought Trump should have pardon Julian. It would not surprise me if he did in his next term.

I am sure he would not. Politically it would be unsustainable.

And it would be antinomic with every thing he is preaching.

And biden the freedom loving human rights champion free press democracy fighter will certainly not

The public feels there are no checks and balances for the CIA. Insiders blowing the whistle would be at least a drop in an empty bucket for some control.
If the public knew what all the CIA was doing they would want the CIA shut down.

Don’t do the crime, if you can’t face the time.

Let the chips fall where they may.

The US says journalism is a crime . Now surfing the internet is a crime with the Feds going after another journalist - Tim Burke who went on the fox news website and accessed an available unedited clip of tucker interviewing Ye/west.

This is becoming a dystopian world with Burke’s prosecution the latest in a wave of an attacks on democratic rights and free speech carried out by the US government and the Biden administration.

Says the trump fan boy.

Though it’s one point we appear to agree on.

Although it’s stretch to drawn an equivalence between what Assange did and what Burke did. He too will have his day in court.

A day in court for practicing journalism . FREEDOM!!!

Becoming? I’ve been saying i live in a sci fi novel for about 10 years now

Quite the opposite is true. The US says journalism is protected free speech.

Fox is not a news organization

Prosecution for protected free speech Mr Orwell !!!

Well, fiction is not fact. However, 1984 is a cautionary tale.

And here we are!!! Fiction becomes reality

And exactly where are we? A judge ordering an accused individual to stop threatening witnesses and juries is your example of prohibited free speech?

Truth is the first casualty of war. Journalism has never been more dangerous in first world countries.

I agree with that. But the danger does not lie in “restriction” but in the abuse of “freedom” of speech.

See that ? Big brother speech

Do you believe that ALL speech should be protected?

Are you familiar with the “Boy Who Cried Wolf”?

The Boy Who Cried Wolf is one of Aesop’s Fables, numbered 210 in the Perry Index. From it is derived the English idiom **

“to cry wolf”, defined as “to give a false alarm”
