Donald Trump says Merkel made 'catastrophic mistake' on migrants

While Donald Trump needs to demonstrate that he is honorable enough for the office that he has been elected to, I think he is right when he says that Merkel made catastrophic mistakes on admitting too many Arab refugees in Germany, or that the USA should not have invaded Iraq in 2003, or that safe zones should have been created within Syria and paid for by the United States’ Gulf allies.

20/20 hindsight

It was not hindsight for a lot of people. Germany/Eurovision for example never talked about full control by Germany, just the opposite, shared leadership. When the rest of EU union started to bitch about being scammed. Germany did a lot of projects to distract by creating a need for a central governing power the Germany controlled. This immigration was just one of the projects. Germany must have known it would require total synchronizing of the EU police forces and the (CSDP) Common Security and Defense Policy and the battle they were having with the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). The problem was that Germany had to rely on the other members to conduct military operations. Germany had already cleaned up the banking problems by making the EU banking part of Germany’s Bundesbank and Frankfurt Europe’s financial capital. The next step was to take over and control the military. This is not rocket science and it has been many, many decades in the making. Ask yourself these questions. Who is the president of Germany? Joachim Gauck.
Who is president of the EU? Jean-Claude Juncker
So what is Angela Merkel’s job? Chancellor of Germany
Why does it seem like the Chancellor of Germany is running the EU?
Point being, are Europeans total dumbasses? Or was this immigration move part of an operation knowing that terrorists would create the need for central control (Germany)? Yea, Trump is right! If it was up to the EU and not Deutschland, most likely safe zones would have been built in Syria.
As far as Iraq, Iraq was invaded for several reasons, but mostly for a religious political power that resides in the United States for the protection of assets and interests located outside of the United States.

:wow: “catastrophic” he’s been boning up on vocabulary I see. That’s huge.

Point being, are Europeans total dumbasses?
Hey silly, we just elected a man who lives in his own imaginary world, who does not know the difference between truth and fantasy as President of this nation and you got room to call other's dumbasses. :-/

20/20 himdsight Yes, hindsight is always 20/20. However, if it leads to better foresight, that is what matters. For the USA, the lessons from Germany and Europe in general, Iraq, Libya and Syria should be: 1) Controlling immigration of Muslims to the USA. Verification that the immigration seekers are eager to assimilate with the culture of human dignity and rights in this country, as opposed to thinking of creating Muslim ghettos of nuisance such as loud-speaker prayer calls, injustice such as forcing girls to marry much older men and raising girls with the brainwash/force of wearing excessive body covers, and hatred against non-Muslims, including having Sharia laws, etc. in this country. 2) US foreign policy should not include regime changes by US or allied forces, and realization that people need to be respectful of other people's dignity and rights in order to be ready for democracy. Too many Muslim-majority countries have recently voted Islamic fanatics to power when they got democracy. Dictators such as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi were better for their countries. 3) Talking about safe zones in Syria for the people whose lives have been made hell by the civil war there, it is stupid to tolerate the Saudi proposal of building mosques in Germany for them without offering them any humanitarian help. It is a colossal shame that Saudi Arabia is an ally of the West. What Donald Trump would do about that is not as good a question as what people that claim to be better than him, liberal, secular and humanist have done so far. That might help the USA in electing better liberal, secular and humanist leaders in 2020.
Point being, are Europeans total dumbasses?
Hey silly, we just elected a man who lives in his own imaginary world, who does not know the difference between truth and fantasy as President of this nation and you got room to call other's dumbasses. :-/   It would help if you learned to read with reason. I did not call them dumbasses, unless you believe that they didn’t know the consequences of an open door policy. Europe has had for many decades one of the best immigration and lawful temporary nonimmigrant work programs that has ever been implemented in modern history. Yet, as the Euro was formed it changed the lawful temporary nonimmigrant enforcement laws and put the burden on the country of entry, which is the poor southern countries. Germany has for decades accepted skilled workers to come and work for years in Germany and then go back home. According to the new Euro laws the immigrants would enter Euro and have to be processed by the country of entry. Which excludes Germany and most of the rich northern countries. This burden would create enormous costs and hardships for the southern countries and a labor pool for Germany to pick the cream of the crop for the better paying jobs in Germany. The southern countries now not being solvent and with German financial controls hanging over their heads could do little to protest the actions of Germany. And their new Euro country was proving to be a puppet of Germany. The southern Euro countries were not dumbasses, they ignored and intentionally help the immigrants get to Germany. Euro was created by Germany and countries joined because they were told all countries would be equal, no matter how small or weak. And that the bigger and more powerful countries like Germany would not take advantage of and control the union. This is not the case today. Britain can see what was going on and is getting out. What is America’s position? Obama wants Globalization too. He followed Germany’s steps and tried to open the doors. Thank god for Trump! The only fantasy is not living in the world of reality. The working people of America are getting behind Trump and will turn this nation around. If we fail then you should live in your fantasy world, because you will not like the real world.

Thanks for the compliment. Most of the time I don’t have the time it takes to compose a response at the same levels as most of you are at. It is a skill I don’t have. Being taught on a phonic alphabet I just can’t find the ability to spell the words that I desire using our proto-form system.

Joachim Gauck. Who is president of the EU? Jean-Claude Juncker So what is Angela Merkel’s job? Chancellor of Germany German has a large population. The largest in the EU, I believe, far greater than France or the UK. (thanks for the correction, Johannes Fischbach! Why does it seem like the Chancellor of Germany is running the EU? Point being, are Europeans total dumbasses? Or was this immigration move part of an operation knowing that terrorists would create the need for central control (Germany)? Yea, Trump is right! Why does it seem like the Chancellor of Germany is running the EU? Germany's economy is based on exports, backed by a very solid reputation of German engineering prowess. This helps them to be the biggest contributor to the EU. (They get the greatest benefit from it too, since the great majority of the exports go to the rest of the EU. No tarriffs, same currency=good for export business.) Germany's populace work together in a way some other countries do not: the needs of society really are considered above the needs of the individual. Germany's export-oriented economy depends on deadlines that must be met. This ends up affecting all off society positively. Germany is very procedure-oriented. They follow rules well. This kind of approach, while slower and less exciting than some nationalities, enstills a conscientious thoroughness in the German psyche. Which pays off. Germany has a very stable government compared to many EU countries(*cough, cough* Italy, for example) While her star is beginning to wane, Frau Merkel has long been considered the most sensible and practical politician and Europe and whole-heartedly and enthusiastically supports the EU. Germany is risk averse. This pays off in a Union like the EU. Germany is centrally located. Considering its population size and its location, in West Central Europe, along with its access to coast, this gives an advantage that allows it to dominate politically and economically. As you posted Lance LaSalle was just answering a question on Quora. “Why is Germany disproportionately powerful in the EU?“ That article also said, “It will be misleading to say all major countries in Europe have disproportionate influence because this view totally neglects the fact that Germany is currently dominating the Euro zone reform and representing the European security policy. The real question should be, why was Briton the only ones smart enough to mistrust Germany’s intent and incorporate a back out clause? And that answer, the true answer will never be printed. And it is simple – MONEY. Germany bought all the political powers for the formation of the EU with a promise of money. And the money cost Germany nothing. Germany actually made money and save a pending German banking collapse. The greatest amount of the new Euro money was digital money. Only existing in computers. Part of the deal in forming the EU was only one Central Bank for the new money. And how much money was all the countries to get? What was each countries share of this new Euro money? The idea was that each country would be closing its national central bank and using the Euro Central Bank because they were going to start using the Euro. So the money sent to the Euro Bank from each of the countries central banks would be exchanged for Euros. And that happened. But the greatest amount of money in many of the countries balance sheets were bonds. Bonds are a form of money in the same way a dollar is nothing more than a note. Most of these balance sheets had bonds going all the way back to the mid 1800’s. And most of these bonds were unsellable or tradeable. What Germany did was brilliant, they set up a five year program to pay for all these bonds. These bonds were not just owned by the banks, but the richest people in Europe. Now how do you decide the value of a hundred year bond? For example a $1,000 dollar bond could now worth as much as $35,000,000.00 based upon gold values. And many bonds were issued in currencies that were discontinued years ago. The - Who, Where and Why these bonds got priced and paid was the controlling factor in the forming of the EU in the method that put Germany in charge. It happened at the Central Bank of Germany in Frankfurt, in an office operated by only five guys. And the bonds were the back door tool that Germany used to bring the voting in their favor. The rich got richer and most likely felt that the EU was a good move for their country. And only time will tell. So far it has a lot of good features. But the sellout was giving Germany control of EU’s money. He who controls the gold makes the rules.

I don’t know if the liberal thinking has the capabilities of absorbing reality of the political actions going on in the EU. For example, the Cold War. The liberals see it as an arms race in the way history portrays what happened. In reality, we were never in an arms race the way it is said. We divided the country into seven economic zones. When a zone was depressed, we implemented stimulus actions to build up the economics in the zone. Because of regulations, the fastest way to pump money into a zone was the military. Russia did not understand this and tried to match the programs and military buildup. When in fact a lot of the programs never amounted to anything. If we got a plane or tank, it was better than creating a welfare state.
The point being, Obama never understood the EU. And was following a lot of their ideas, just like Russia was following the U.S. Trump on the other hand understands what is going on economically and will do what is best for America. If you follow the labor market of Germany, it has not changed for decades. When Germany created their war plans before WWII it included outside labor. The titles of the temporary labor pools have changed over time from slavery, to prisoner and now to immigrant. Some working in the same factories and operating the same machinery. And I might add that Germany without a doubt makes the best machinery in the world.
A comparison in the United States is in the farming labor pools. Over history, labor pools have come from Europe. Then Mexico. And now Central and South America. In trucking right now the pools are from India coming in through Canada. Trump needs to fix that.

If that was the question you wanted answered, why didn't you ask it? You asked why Merkel seemed to be running the EU and I provided an answer to that question. I offered no opinion on who would be a better choice. I provided an answer that answered the question you asked. Most knowledgeable people give a similar answer when asked that question. If you asked the wrong question, or if you just don't like the answer please have the grace to admit it. You wrote, "the true answer will never be printed" as if there were some worldwide conspiracy to hide the truth. Many articles have been written on why the UK pulled out of the EU and there is more than one reason, one being that many voters wanted to end free immigration into the UK. I suspect you just don't like the answers being offered, so you claim "the true answer will never be printed". That's complete BS. Presumably you think YOU know the "true answer" but it's being universally suppressed. Do you really think you're the only one who knows the answer? There isn't one news writer or commentator in the whole world who would write about the "truth" as you know and not one news source that would publish it? That doesn't give you second thoughts about your version of the "truth"?

You think the full quote is any better? As your next sentence, that's just funny, go for the paranoia - works real well. Way better than reason.

They have nothing to worry about. They'll be seen as the world's saviors by comparison. They may even have to bail us out as the we helped bail out Germany and the rest of Europe after their version of Trump was finally stopped from fixing things.
While Donald Trump needs to demonstrate that he is honorable enough for the office that he has been elected to, I think he is right when he says that Merkel made catastrophic mistakes on admitting too many Arab refugees in Germany, or that the USA should not have invaded Iraq in 2003, or that safe zones should have been created within Syria and paid for by the United States' Gulf allies. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-38632485
Why does it matter that Trump is occasionally (partially) correct on a few things, usually in hindsight, as has already been pointed out. Any number of politicians have analyzed this situation and weighed in on it and have had much more intelligent things to say about it.

Well that's already not working very well, is it?
Just moments after President Trump took the oath of office Friday, the official White House website was transformed into a set of policy pledges -- and absence of them -- that offered the broad contours of the Trump administration's top priorities, including fierce support for law enforcement and gun owners' rights to defend themselves, the disappearance of the outgoing White House's policy page on climate change and a notable lack of any directives involving former president Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/01/20/moments-after-taking-the-oath-president-trump-transforms-white-house-website/?utm_term=.0d8b50b60a44

Well that's already not working very well, is it? Well, I meant mostly his demeanor, which is not working very well either. As for policy matters, some of the regression was correctly expected/feared; and Trump's party is probably worse than him. Unfortunately, the dishonesty and insincerity of otherwise better people have been making regressive forces more popular and taking some parts of the world backward. India is another prime example. So, for the future, I think the USA would need to find ways to have leaders that are honest and sincere about human rights, liberty and justice for all.

Sam, it’s nice to agree with you.
