Makes you proud to be an American, doesn't it? http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/donald-trump-refugee-ban-muslim-countries-christians-welcomerobert-fisk-a7550941.htmlHere is a simple problem with the Independent. Do they call the USA or the UK a "Christian country"? If not, why are they calling those six countries 'Muslim countries'? I think the USA should amend the First Amendment to its constitution to truncate freedom of religion. Any religious edict that is unjust, hateful and barbaric should be shunned by the state. Of course, that amendment should be proposed and made possible by the progressive forces of the country. Neither Trump nor the Republican Party would be expected to do that any time soon. However, unfortunately, the otherwise more progressive Democratic Party is not progressive enough to do that. I also think that the USA should give "values test" to anyone coming to settle in this country; sorry, I disagree with the Independent here. For example, if you have any dream of Sharia law in the USA, you should not be allowed to come here; it may be difficult to read people's minds, but that is what the principle should be. In any case, I think the reality of the USA would make it go through some turmoil between regressive forces and the ones that would need to be true and objective to their progressive minds.

Damn right, America first. Makes me proud of Trump!

Sam, you are correct on the religious aspects. I don’t think the way people think will change. Israel is a religious country and it is said that we give them taxpayer money to the tune of $8,000.00 per person in that country every year. I think that we should not give any taxpayer money to any country that claims to be a religious or operates by religious control. It just enforces the religious problems in the government in our country. We need to fix those home problems first.

Do you really have any idea how American’s are seen from abroad? If anything this is going to help us. One news story does not reflect how people think of us abroad. It is not really about the refugees and the restrictions is it? It is more about people’s anxiety of President Trump’s paradigm. Do you even remember when President Obama issued the same orders back in 2011? What was the reaction to Obama order? I really don’t know if I want the uninformed figuring how the real world operates. It is just so damn entertaining watching a bunch of losers chasing their tails.

I have spent a lot of time in various countries, in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, and my husband's whole family live abroad. I know very well what people are saying. I am not depending on one news story. Where do you get your information as to what people think about America? How many foreigners have you spoken to? The people I have heard expressing their opinions are not only people I have engaged with in conversation directly. I have overheard people speaking among themselves inublic places. I read local newspaper articles and hear news and opinion reports from television and radio including those from consevative media. How do you know what foreigners are saying?

I read local newspaper articles and hear news and opinion reports from television and radio including those from consevative media. How do you know what foreigners are saying? It is hard to find out what people in other countries think. I have given up on the news from most countries as a reliable source. For example, I have been following the Venezuela problem for some time now. And I find that most stories are not balanced. And mostly what you hear is always the same side. I got most of my views from Al Jazeera News before they sold out to the US. It was one of best news sources we had ever had for straight forward reporting. I sure miss them. I know we have Al Jazeera America. It is not the same at all. The term “Ugly American" has been around for some time now and books and movies have covered the subject. But I feel it is outdated. You by far have the best method, you can’t beat being at those countries. I went to a party where people were celebrating graduating from English speaking school. They came from all over the world. I remember being told by several people in broken English how bad we Americans are. Here is an example video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDomujaMA-U what bothers me is that most of the views are the views of the left news media, not the views of all the voters who got Trump elected. One guy said it right, American politics is a joke. Point being. You are right. If you have one on one communication. That can’t be beat. What the world will understand is that when President Trump says he will do something, it is more than a line in the sand.
Do you really have any idea how American’s are seen from abroad? My wife and I do. Last time I was in Denmark drinking with friends they asked me, "What the hell is wrong with your country?" That was before we elected Trump. From the feedback I'm getting on Facebook my foreign friends think we've gone crazy. Edit: fixed two typos
This is ridiculous. There is no way the Christians won’t be the victim of this policy. How can they flee from the persecution in their home country if the country decided to end diplomatic ties with the US and close the embassy?

In some aspects I think your friends are right! :-)They're referring to Donald Trump and his supporters. You are Exhibit A.
In some aspects I think your friends are right! :-)They're referring to Donald Trump and his supporters. You are Exhibit A. Of course they are. That is why there is now talk of regulating the news. To stop a lot of that spin. It is said that 70 to 90% of the news today is liberal, meaning the truth has been twisted.

This is ridiculous. There is no way the Christians won't be the victim of this policy. How can they flee from the persecution in their home country if the country decided to end diplomatic ties with the US and close the embassy? They might look at going to other Christian counties. I understand Russia is very Christian today. When Jesus’s half-brother started the Christian wars, There were said to be 20 to 30 million deaths related to the war. Many fled the country and some ended up here in America because they wanted to go to a Christian country. American did not treat them very well. Things are better today, but you should look at all countries before choosing. Don’t put the burden on our backs to fix your problems all the time. Right now we have enough problem here in America. Myself, if I were you, I would look at Canada and Germany. They have an open door policy. We are closing our door a little right now.

He spouts nonsense. Edit: fixed a typo

It is said that 70 to 90% of the news today is liberal, meaning the truth has been twisted. And you're OK with regulating the news? Of course not, don't be silly. And I am not OK with two hours of security to get on a plane today. But the damn liberals are screwing up the news media just like they did climate change. We really are going to have to cut federal funding for the colleges and universities. I see it coming, just thank the liberals for that too.

He spouts nonsense. And as always, you have no answers. You just sit in judgement. If you had half a brain you would get the point of what I was making. That we do take in people, but just like people that came here from China, we do not always accept people because their religion might be the same. There are other facts to our prejudice.

I am for Trump regulating right now. It is not the news he will be regulating. It is the spin. And I don’t want spin. Both the republicans and democrats were doing spin. And that has got to be stopped. Bill O’Rilley of Fox claims no spin. And I have seen no spin, but CC thinks I would not know spin that I agreed with.
Right now Fox is at the top of my list for no spin. What has Fox been spinning?Seriously? Oh. I see. You're playing word games again. Fox doesn't spin the news, they flat out lie about global warming, and the identity of the Quebec shooter among many, many other subjects. As for Trump, he spreads lies at every opportunity. Here is just one example. Trump's Faulty Refugee Policy Comparison] I can come up with a dozen more in a couple of minutes.
