First. You know your opinion is changing to be the minority opinion. I’m not sure it ever was the majority, or just that Israel’s actions toward Palestine were tolerated by the militarized first world.

The chronology of these nations does not start on October 7, 2023

The chronology of this conflict started on Oct 7
And even if you want to take the historical perspective, it is the Jews that have been persecuted since the very beginning.

Antisemitism: how the origins of history’s oldest hatred still hold sway today

Published: February 27, 2018 8:03am EST

The seemingly endless conflicts in the Middle East have made the problem worse as they spawn divisive domestic politics in the West. But can the advance of antisemitism be attributed to the rise of right-wing populism or the influence of Islamic fundamentalism? One thing is clear. Antisemitism is here and it’s getting worse.

Antisemitism rears its ugly head in every aspect of public life, whether internal debates within political parties or accusations of conspiratorial networks or plots in politics and business. Or even in the accusations that Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s sexually predatory behaviour was somehow linked to his Jewish origins.

But by focusing narrowly on the contemporary context of modern antisemitism, we miss a central, if deeply depressing, reality. Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor of The Atlantic magazine, puts it correctly when he says that what we are seeing is an ancient and deeply embedded hostility towards Jews that is reemerging as the barbarous events of World War II recede from our collective memory.

Yep, after 2000 years of being persecuted and exterminated, it is the Jews that are being accused of genocide.

Note the irony that Jesus, a Jew who preached peace and compassion, was voted to be criminally crucified instead of Barabas, the original Trump criminal character of that time.

I will sum up.

No, the chronology of this conflict began with the creation of Israel and the expulsion of hundred of thousands of Palestinian.

There was a lull up to 1967, with the short war.

This war began another time with he colonisation of Palestine and Gaza. The Oslo and Camp David gave hopes of peace. The muder of Rabin ended it.

You cannot ask Palestinians to live under Israeli domination without wanting revenge. remember that almost every day they are expelled from their ancestral lands by colons, that they are deprived of most rights, and so.

I don’t accept murder and terrorism by Hamas, i don’t accept murder and mass destruction by Israel.

Is a genocide perpetuated in gaza, right now ? It is more than possible. At least mass murder and mass destruction to make life impossible there and provoke mass deportation, and that is probably a crime against humanity by international law.

Yes Jews have been prosecuted for 2 000 years. Why does that make impossible for them to commit a genocide? There is no rational reason.

Modern Israel was established in 1947 with United Nations consent.

In the face of increasing violence after World War II, the British handed the issue over to the recently established United Nations. The result was Resolution 181(II), a plan to partition Palestine into Independent Arab and Jewish States and the Special International Regime for the City of Jerusalem. The Jewish state was to receive around 56% of the land area of Mandate Palestine, encompassing 82% of the Jewish population, though it would be separated from Jerusalem.

The plan was accepted by most of the Jewish population, but rejected by much of the Arab populace. On 29 November 1947, the resolution to recommend to the United Kingdom, as the mandatory Power for Palestine, and to all other Members of the United Nations the adoption and implementation, with regard to the future government of Palestine, of the Plan of Partition with Economic Union was put to a vote in the United Nations General Assembly.[7]

Jewish Holocaust survivors did not take Israel away from Palestine by force as Russia is trying to do with Ukraine.

But since that time Israel has been subject to constant attacks from outside by neighboring Islamists.
Do you know what it is like to live in a country that needs to be a giant fort.

You are right of course but i gave him a chance to show some humanity

Then, I am afraid, you are missing the point. To Israel this is a matter of survival, not of humanity.

Unless you have been exposed to the sound of bombs exploding a few blocks from where you live, demolishing your school , humanity becomes a cheap word.

I don’t know you so I’ll withhold judgement on your character. I’ll just remind you that you don’t know me either. Yours is a classic case of prejudice based on a false premise.

This topic is now on “slow mode”. Think carefully before posting.

To kill thousands of people, to fully destroy homes, mosques, hospitals, cultural institutions, and any other buildings where people lived a question of survival ?

If Israel wanted peace, it would have decolonized Palestinian lands…

Israel wanted peace but before the ink on international agreement was dry ;

the Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel sparked the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, which resulted in the 1948 Palestinian expulsion and flight from the land that the State of Israel came to control and subsequently led to waves of Jewish immigration from other parts of the Middle East.

The spoils of a war Israel did not start.

So far, mortal enemies of Israel can wage unlimited war on Israel and be exempt from retaliation? Israel is now the terrorist?

Recall the US response to 9/11 that cost the US some 3000 civilian deaths?

The September 11 attacks of 2001 were the deadliest terrorist attacks in human history, causing the deaths of 2,996 people, including 2,977 victims and 19 hijackers who committed murder–suicide. Thousands[a] more were injured,[3][4] and long-term health effects have arisen as a consequence of the attacks.

Israel has been placed in an impossible position. This is not a level playing field.
Hamas can kill at will inside Israel, then hide underground and behind civilians in hospitals and schools in Palestine, so that any “military action” by Israel will unavoidably result in civilian casualties.

Note that Hamas intended to kill only Israeli civilians, whereas Israel intends only to militarily defeat Hamas, but can only do so at terrible cost of civilian life being forced to shield the terrorists.

Israel is not a terrorist country. It is surrounded by countries sponsoring terrorists.
It is the terrorist sponsoring countries that do not want peace.

AFAIK, the few ME countries that have peace treaties and trade with Israel are well satisfied with the beneficial civilian results of peace with Israel.

You are justifying the deliberate murder of thousands of people, among them women and children.

Israel does not want peace. Israel want to annex Cisjordanie and expel Palestinians from its territory.

The 7th of October 2023 attack was a terrorist attack, created by Israel attitude since Rabin murder. I don’t justify terrorism, i explain it.

The Arab states have been ready for years to make peace with Israel, some have done, others were on the point of doing it.

I’m sorry, but your explanation is full of contradictions.

Are you accusing Israel of being instrumental in killing their own citizens by means of Iran sponsored Hamas mercenaries?

How on earth can you even imagine such deviant behavior from the “victim” of the crime?

A lot of very thoughtful, academic people are explaining this. You should take a break from this forum and study

Yeah and what did our response accomplish?

Guarantee an endless war.
Did it accomplish anything else.

Lots of profits and power for a few masters of the universe.

Right. Israel just commits acts of terror because it’s easier than working on solutions and accommodating the peoples whose land was confiscated for them.
An eye for an eye, an ear for an ear until the entire world is deaf’n mute.

And people talk about our society having another couple hundreds ahead of it, what a hoot.

Back to nazi germany as jewish bank accounts are frozen again

Pro Palestinians Jews …

AFAIK, Israel has agreed several times to mediation, but it is the Islamists that are refusing to negotiate anything other total destruction of Israel (see above).

Islamist don’t negotiate. They issue fatwas to rid the world of apostates.

This may be of interest.

Jihad and Jew-Hatred makes a major contribution to the understanding of radical Islamism by tracing the impact of European fascism on the Arab and Islamic world.

Drawing extensively on German-language sources, Matthias Küntzel analyzes the close relationship that began in the 1930s between Nazi leaders and Muslim extremists, especially the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood and the Mufti of Jerusalem.

This path-breaking book provides compelling documentation of the Nazi roots of what became Islamo-fascism and jihadist terror.

Assange proved right again - the goal is endless war not a successful war

Israel’s military leaders must realise what the rest of us do - that the US has not decisively won any war since Eisenhower crossed the Elbe. Why put any faith in the US riding to the rescue? Clearly, the goal here is as Assange identified - endless war not a successful one. I just don’t get why the Israeli population can’t see what a disaster they are blindly supporting.

These threads can really go off topic, can’t they?

That is nothing new or unique. It was in the book “1984”. Published in 1949. I’m not saying it should be acceptable as normal, I’m saying we didn’t need Assange to point it out.
