Some believe that we already are in World War Three. What technology brings to the battlefield: it is certainly appropriate to consider ‘disruptive technology’ under this lens. As the explosions in Moscow play out over time we understand that these are not all accidents. Every event here in the USA, including paranoia about a truck sized payload on a Chinese balloon, is being scrutinized. The ebb and flow of political regimes to the South of us and the resentments that have built up around the world for U$ is not something that you disssipate with a kiss and a quick apology. With the two nukes that went off in Japan you could mark the start of the problem: they were optional according to careful analysts. Those Japanese were fodder, and this event established Godzilla. Fear rules the planet now. Whether Godzilla’s broken leg is going to heal or not: this is one question. As a corollary we are left wondering if the leg does not heal how is he going down? It could well be in a rampage of terror. The immaturity of our foreign policy is thus. It is already proven time and time again. What’s one big rampage on your way down after so many rampages around the planet? To either side of the meat grinder that is Ukraine are two lovely slices of bread. It’s sloppy joe’s for Godzilla tonight.
I believe it is true. What do you think? (I shouldn’t have to ask that. That is the entire purpose of this forum. It is not here for you to call people out or tell us that we are dumb. As you have seen, when people do that, no matter how long they have been members, I tell them to stop.)
Quit writing posts like this. It is a violation of the rules. I don’t have time for this. No one does. I
Zelenskyy is a democratically elected Jewish president of Ukraine and you accuse him of being a NAZI? Who are you listening to? All you need to do is consult Wiki t get a good idea of who he is. He is certainly not a war criminal like Putin.
[quote]Zelenskyy is the first Jewish president; with Volodymyr Groysman as prime minister, Ukraine became the first country other than Israel to simultaneously have a Jewish head of state and head of government.
Explosion IN Moscow? You mean a few drones exploded over Moscow to show Putin he is not immune from being bombed . It was a warning.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to Tuesday’s drone attacks on the capital Moscow, accusing Ukraine of trying to frighten Russians.
He said civilians were targeted, but air defences dealt satisfactorily with the threat.
“Volodymyr Zelenskiy has announced the dismissal of all the heads of Ukraine’s regional military recruitment centres in the latest drive to root out corruption after officials were accused of taking bribes from those seeking to avoid the frontlines.”
“At a time when the country’s army is in need of new recruits, Ukraine’s president described the taking of cash from people who wanted to avoid conscription while others suffered as a form of treachery.”
Who can blame them.
What do you fear most?”
"I fear that love is not enough "
I presented you the timeline of ukrainian presidents at post 695 yet you persist with the disinformation campaign that Ukraine democracy was never broken , that the events in 2014 are to be ignored and not acknowledging before zelensky there was Petro Poroshenko

I don’t care what happened before Zelenskyy.
Today Zelenskyy is the legitimate president of Ukraine, a country that is under attack by Putin, who is an actual “old school” survivor of the Soviet Union.
The Soviet Union, officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was a transcontinental country that spanned much of Eurasia from 1922 to 1991. Wikipedia

Putin is a war criminal and no hysterical cry of “foul play by any other country” makes a difference to the current situation.
Give it up man. Get with the program of peaceful coexistence.
Meanwhile as biden commits to another 24 billion dollars “aid” to ukraine with the mantra " we will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes,” sending 10s of 1000s of ukrainian solders to certain death, the counter offence is dead. Question is - was it ever alive. This is the reality Western media now have to deal woth and can no longer be denied with articles of ukraine victory and success.
Here is what is appearing in msm now as ukraine gets pushed from our front pages to the middle pages and inevitably to the back pages in biden’s endless war
They are now admitting that the much promoted Ukrainian counter-offensive has failed.
On top of this is that nothing has come from the ‘peace conference’ which Saudi Arabia arranged on Ukraine’s behalf
And
Warsaw and Kiev relations have gone down the toilet as Poland will not allow for more support or active intervention
And
there is also less weapons coming in from the West with the F-16 fighter jets being delayed for another nine months due to training issues. Tanks are in short supply.
.
That gives the russian 9 months to bomb ever runway and aircraft hanger in Ukraine.
This quagmire that biden has engineered sees more and more land being lost to the russians with todays announcement that russia is penetrating deeper into ukraine with the capture of Kupyansk. More and more ulkraine soldiers dead which is why many and briding officals so as not to get drafted.
So whats the end game here? Will it be the partition of Ukraine like korea was to freeze war? What would the people of western Ukraine think of zelensky and the US in leading their country down this path with that very possible and likely result??

Apparently you have never heard of the expression “Give me liberty or give me death:”
Give me liberty, or give me death!
Famous line from a Patrick Henry speech in 1775
“Give me liberty, or give me death!” is a quotation attributed to American politician and orator Patrick Henry from a speech he made to the Second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775, at St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia. Henry is credited with having swung the balance in convincing the convention to pass a resolution delivering Virginian troops for the… Wikipedia
This is the current Ukrainian cry and in the spirit of freedom the US is supporting Ukraine with the means of surviving this blatant and criminal effort by Putin to conquer and subjugate Ukraine.
Note that the Russian people are opposed to the war, but they have no voice at all.
They have been subjugated.
This topic is running around without going anywhere.
A paper in " Guerre et histoire " of August 2023 is making a comparison and asks interesting question.
He compares attack on Ukraine by Russia as the attack of Iraqi on Iran in 1980.
Both attacks are launched to solve a matter of border, with the idea that the enemy army is weak and unable to fight and that the war will be short and victorious. Both are wrong in both cases. In both cases the war becomes a war of trenches and attrition. In both cases " allies " gives or sell weapons to both sides, making a proxy war.
One difference is that in 1980, West was on the side of aggressor. Now, it is on the side of the assaulted.
But the Iraqi/Iran war was the beginning of a cycle of deep changes in the region, which effects are more than still present.
Coupled with the intervention of the Russian army against Afghanistan, in 1979, it led to the present disaster. And USA share greatly the responsibility of it. The second Iraqi war is not only a war crime but a fumble.
I think that attacking Ukraine, Putin has made the same mistake that
Hussein. He has consolidated Ukrainian nationalism behind a president who was becoming very unpopular and would have lost next elections. he has implied west much more that it intended, Nato is strengthened when it was seen as a dead organism. And many consequences are worldwide. Time will tell.
" Guerre et histoire " " War and History " is a French scientific magazine centered around War, strategy and history, may be number one for all publics .
Continuing the topic of the situation at the front, an interesting interview was given by a Ukrainian sniper fighting near Bakhmut with the call sign “Grandfather”. On the air of political scientist Yuri Romanenko, he was introduced as Konstantin Proshinsky (this is a pseudonym).
The fighter spoke in detail about his vision of the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Russian army.
Mobilization. In his opinion, it is conducted incorrectly. Recruits are sent to the front who have never been trained, and they are often over 50 years old and with a whole bunch of diseases.
…
No rotation. The soldier says that “the same brigades” are fighting at the front, and people are not taken out of the front line for six months or more. Whereas by Western standards, they can be kept in a war zone for no more than three months.
…
Behavior of mid-and high-level commanders. According to Proshinsky, many of them are trying to arrange a “mini-Stalingrad” on the positions, forcing them to go into frontal assaults on well-fortified Russian positions.
…
The Russian Army began to fight better.
…
Proshinsky believes that Russia has not yet used much of what it has against Ukraine.

Is Russia taking Odessa a real possibility ? In terms of war strategy , Odessa could be a big negotiation chip to end the war if what remains of ukraine wants port access

You do know that they accept mercenaries in their struggle.
Maybe you could go over there and help out.
Pretty sure they’ll pay you.
Maybe send your kids?
Or just weapons and money…
Maybe better to keep it Slavs killing Slavs, eh?
And keep sweeping the Nazi stuff under the carpet, but it’s getting lumpy.
As far as I know Humanism and warmongering do not really go together.
Back to Minsk and you can see your argument falls apart.
Back to the cold war and it falls apart even more.
We have no interest in Ukraine.
It is completely foreign.
That is why it makes a good proxy war, you see?
Then too there is Russiagate looming for history’s eyes to feast upon.
You thought Complicity was hot, but she’s not.
Perhaps you’d like to sign up and help out poor Putin in his invasion of Ukraine.
I’m sure he would pay you.
I wonder why we even entered WWII against Germany and Japan. We had no business in Europe and Pearl Harbor was an unfortunate mistake, not worthy of retaliation, right?
You just don’t get it, do you? Peace is the desired state of affairs among nations.
Invading another country is not practicing peace. Russia is not practicing peace.
Why are you condemning both Ukraine and the US for Russia’s aggression?
Has anyone attacked Russia? If so, who and by what means?
Do you believe that Putin is justified in bombing Ukraine’s civilization?
Can you make this clear in a short synopsis? You don’t think that bombing Ukraine’s infrastructure is tantamount to Hitler bombing London or Japan bombing Pearl Harbor?
It is Putin who is bombing Ukraine! It’s not the other way around!
Do you think that US assistance to Ukraine’s defense is a bad thing? Why?
And spare me the politics. Words don’t warrant killing people, military aggression does.
Russia is the military aggressor.
