I am not alone.
Also covered in Live Science, Daily Mail, History.com, Natureworldnews.com, Newsbreak.com, ancient-origins.net, Wikipedia.org, bbc.com, wsj.com. Just to name a few. Seems that WION has good company.
WION News is now the highest-rated news app in the world on Google Play Store with a rating of 4.9 on a 5-point scale.
Amazon - 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent app for national and international news
The app maybe high rated, but ION isn’t one of the best news sources and Faux News is one of the worst for misinformation and downright lies. I refuse to watch Faux News because of that. There are others I refuse to watch too, such as Newsmax, OAN, and alike ones.
Add “argument from popularity” to your list of fallacies Mike
That was a really interesting analysis, but then you show your hand with this comment. You take a quote and make it fit your narrative. You aren’t going to research that. Even if you try, you will ignore anything that disagrees with your bias.
And you think that is a recommendation of quality news?
Wait, Ill link a show that would have the highest ratings ever in the entire world.
The quality of viewers would not necessarily of the highest caliber, but hey let’s liven it up.
Let’s get some ratings.
(warning crude language)
And this scenario may actually be relevant today.
4U got me thinking that I better check my news sources. Johns Hopkins University just published a study a couple days ago that showed lockdowns should be rejected.
“While this meta-analysis concludes that lockdowns have had little to no public health effects, they have imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted,” the researchers wrote. “In consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument.”
“We find little to no evidence that mandated lockdowns in Europe and the United States had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality rates,”
Studies that looked at only shelter-in-place orders found they reduced COVID-19 mortality by 5.1%, but studies that looked at shelter-in-place orders along with other lockdown measures found that shelter-in-place orders actually increased COVID-19 mortality by 2.8%.
The researchers concluded that limiting gatherings may have actually increased COVID-19 mortality.
Now the NYT’s, Fox news, Washington Times, Msn.com and many other have covered the story. Some only hours ago, other up to 2 days ago.
NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS have not covered the story. They are talking about the Tonga lockdown and have stories backing lock downs.
Newsmax and OAN are to far to the Right for me. I don’t feel they are fair on reporting the news.
PEW did some research on why people liked different news outlets. And the main reason was that the news outlet matched their beliefs. That’s why I think we should have more debates and less discussions.
I like Carlin. He speaks his mind.
Jen Psaki was asked yesterday if the Russian attack on the Ukraine was still imminent. Psaki said she has not said it was imminent, well maybe once is all. Like it was no big deal. Biden is sending thousands of troops to the EU to be ready for the imminent attack. Today’s news media are all covering the story that the Russian attack may not be ‘imminent’.
Thus, the Crimea people who were being stripped of their self-determination and territorial integrity left Ukraine for Russia. Are they any better off? Will they get back their self-determination? Time will tell. But at least they will be able to do business in the language they speak and have always done business in. And their kids don’t have to be taught in a language they don’t understand. And they will no longer be considered a second-class citizen in the country. Now nine years later on YouTube you can find Crimea people being ask if they are better off now with Russia. Many are saying they don’t notice any difference. The business owners are saying that the tourist business has been down since the war started and that they would like the war over so the tourism will pick up.
Chomsky: US Approach to Ukraine and Russia Has “Left the Domain of Rational Discourse
The Russia-Ukraine crisis continues unabated as the United States ignores all of Russian President Vladmir Putin’s security demands and spreads a frenzy of fear by claiming that a Russian invasion of Ukraine is imminent.
In a new exclusive interview for Truthout on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis, world-renowned public intellectual Noam Chomsky outlines the deadly dangers of U.S. intransigence over Ukrainian membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) even when key Western allies have already vetoed earlier U.S. efforts in that direction. He also seeks to shed some light on the reasons why Republicans today seem to be divided on Russia.
Chomsky — whose intellectual contributions have been compared to those of Galileo, Newton and Descartes — has had tremendous influence on a variety of areas of scholarly and scientific inquiry, including linguistics, logic and mathematics, computer science, psychology, media studies, philosophy, politics and international affairs. He is the author of some 150 books and recipient of scores of highly prestigious awards including the Sydney Peace Prize and the Kyoto Prize (Japan’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize), as well as dozens of honorary doctorate degrees from the world’s most renowned universities. Chomsky is Institute Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and currently Laureate Professor at the University of Arizona.

Seems to me Putin could work on his messaging. Massing troops gets in the way of claiming he is the victim of aggression. I don’t see him getting much support from the Ukrainians either.
As an aside, Parenti talked on this subject, with a similar theme, in the thread I started. But you had nothing to say, except trying to shoot me down. That’s why you get silenced.
Marcon meets with Putin now as we speak much to the anger of the US. France Germany hungry turkey bulgaria Croatia are not following the NATO script
Plenty. Just not to you.
Who does Ukraine threaten? Please refresh my memory. What country is in danger from Ukraine troops? Ukraine?
Ukraine troops threatening the people of the Donbas region. Meanwhile Macron and Putin come to an agreement overRussian troops
Evidence please… Making unsupported allegations doesn’t convince anybody here.
Donbas
The Donbas or Donbass (UK: /dɒnˈbɑːs/, US: /ˈdɑːnbɑːs, dʌnˈbæs/; Ukrainian: Донба́с [donˈbɑs]; Russian: Донба́сс) is a historical, cultural, and economic region in south-eastern Ukraine , some of whose territory is occupied by two unrecognized separatist states, the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s …
Sevastopol and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea both had majority Russian population. Whereas Donetsk and Luhansk do not. That brings up the question. Are the Russian and Ukraine’s separated in the Donetsk and Luhansk territories? A separation of Russia and Ukraine people are shown in the map. Fighting is going on in two cities along the separation line.
What exactly are you implying . That England is somehow an aggressor in this international conflict, or is acting in defense of an ally?
Far-right militia" = euphemism for Nazi
