Rednecks Were Taken in by a Carpetbagger like Trump

Where did you get your degree in economics Bob?
It was an MBA. I won't tell you any more; you would profile me.

Bob, cool it with the language and why would you quote someone out of context like that? You know we are talking about you when we talk about misinformation. If you have some data, some information, some logic that shows that the political landscape is NOT being manipulated by data analytics, I’d like to hear it. But posts like the one at the bottom of the previous page will lead to your account being shut down. I’m saying this as fellow traveler on this forum, but I’m pretty good friends with the moderators.

It was an MBA.
Then I'd think you might have some experience cited sources. Reminds me of a woman who pointed out to a congressman that people like her were being exploited. The man told her she didn't understand economics. So she went and got an MBA and still made the exact same argument.

I didn’t think you really had an education in economics, but even if you do, you still need to made your argument with facts. MBA’s argue all the time, so the degree doesn’t make you right.

No, really, this deserves to be read again:

I’ve repeatedly heard the challenging question from Trump supporters that no one can point out a single instance where Russian interference changed the mind of any voter. When this question is asked those hearing it are usually unprepared to give a convincing response.

The answer is fairly plain.

Propaganda, in this case Russian propaganda never sought to change anyone’s mind.

That would be too overt, instead they did something more insidious; they reinforced the uninformed prejudices of groups of Americans by catering to their bigotry and paranoia.

Russia being at the center of the largest land mass on earth has consequently been invaded numerous times and has an almost pathological interest in the internal affairs of other nations. It has a long history of covertly spreading misinformation and in the twentieth century its incarnation as the Soviet Union brought this practice to its apex.

In an age of facebook chat rooms and free speech, American populations were a perfect target for a well coordinated and highly effective effort to sow discord into the body politic.

With the full backing of the Russian government their skills in this activity are highly sophisticated, so much so that their target audience still firmly believe they were unaffected by the misinformation onslaught.

The perfect dupe is one that steadfastly asserts he was never duped. How many people believed that Saddam Hussein was responsible for 911, or that Hillary Clinton ran a child sex ring from a pizza restaurant in Washington, or that Barack Obama wasn’t born in the United States, or that he was a Muslim? Millions still believe these falsehoods who swear they can never be duped.

Confirmation bias is always a reliable default position for those who lack a practiced habit of critical judgement."

why would you quote someone out of context like that? You know we are talking about you when we talk about misinformation.

D-a Americans, so easily fooled.

What is out of context when the words “perfect target” were used? That certainly doesn’t convey to me that Americans were so well informed and rational that they couldn’t be unduly influenced.

I don’t know why I should think or “know” that you are talking about me when you talk about misinformation. Is this a generalization or more along the lines of ad hominem?

Sorry if the street-speak offended. It seemed like a more direct statement of the opinion presented.

I answered your question here. If you want to argue with the moderators, that’s the place to do it. That’s stated in the rules, so ignoring that is itself a rule violation.

Social Security was a Ponzi scheme from the beginning
Idiot, the entire human economy is nothing but a Ponzi scheme.
War is good for jobs.
But it destroys peoples, places and things. So what so long it don't touch your's.

Now that’s some superiority complex.

Taxes have nothing to with job creation
What the hell you think that Interstate Highway System was built with?

What built the TVA or Columbia and Snake Rivers Hydroelectric Project, etc.?

etc., etc.,

Idiot is as idiot does

@ibeleiveinlogic, You obviously don’t have a clue about logic. Your emotional based beliefs are not logical at all.

When Donald Trump tells all of his followers not to worry about the Corona virus because it’s just fake news it won’t be alarming. What will be alarming is the fact that they’ll be completely relieved to hear it. Genus Homo

Yes, and he’s supposedly having or wanting a propaganda news conference tonight about it because he believe the media is spreading fear about the COVID-19. I’m not watching or listening to his propaganda about it because it will be filled with lies and/or ignorance and stupidity. I will stick with JAMA and NEJM and alike sources.

The followers of our DOTUS will likely be so complacent in the light of T rump’s incompetency and lies, that they will not do the one thing that could protect them, and those of us that they may expose – Wash their hands frequently.

Exactly! Because his word is God’s because God put him there. rolling eyes They are so stupid. That’s why we must be diligent in our handwashing. The other issue is corporate greed- they don’t care if you have the flu, going through cancer treatment, or in this case have the COVID-19 they want your body there, no ifs, ands, or buts, and in this environment where companies like Hellmart and Amazon are going to robots to do jobs, eliminating most jobs and decreasing their need for a human workforce, they’d be glad to eliminate the person who calls in sick 4 or 5 days in a row. They want to deprive sick people what they need most- rest, fluids, healthy food, and most of all healthcare. This is why we need socialized healthcare.

The U.S. isn’t prepared and the 1% doesn’t care how many of the 99% die. They don’t care, because they believe they are immune and have the best healthcare that money can get and they have faith that money will keep them alive… until it doesn’t keep their wife/husband or children alive. The first to drop dead, if and when people do start dying from it, while the 1% look the other way, will be those who can’t afford health care and/or have an underlying condition, such as diabetes or high blood pressure. The elderly will be next, but that’s OK as long as it’s not their parents or grandparents. Next will be the underinsured and those forced to work while sick, but don’t rebel by staying home anyway. Mind you, this won’t be a domino thing, it will happen virtually almost at the same time. Next will be those who have better insurance, but not good enough insurance and mind you, many of these people will be sent home to either recuperate or die because no one has insurance that pays 100% and they aren’t part of the 1% in which they can pay the difference. Only the 1%, who get sick, will be able to have hospital care, which maybe the worst place to be, in the end. So we have millions working while sick, millions sick at home, and millions in the hospital in ICU or other areas of the hospital. (millions in each group maybe high, but still) In the end, the 1% will be mourning their dead, just like everyone else will be, because the U.S. was not prepared and it won’t matter the colour of one’s skin or if they are rich or poor- the virus still hits the same with a 2-3% chance of dying… possibly higher, like your 10% estimate, because we aren’t prepared and the 1% don’t give a damn, thinking their money buys everything, including protection from the COVID-19. It might, if they get into their bunkers right now and stay there for over a year or two or three, but they might lose more money for the stay, in the hopes of not getting it.

@timb I think we are doing it again. We are mixing threads. I read your thread and didn’t realize which one I was in due to arriving via my email. So we’re both to blame. Unless you can relate the COVID-19 to the thread you want to post in, please keep the subject of the COVID-19 in the original thread. I know you’re on edge about it. A lot of people are, but placing the subject of the COVID-19 virus in every thread without somehow relating it to that thread, isn’t going to change anything. This isn’t a warning, but we really do need to keep threads on topic. Thank you.

I think it fits in this thread as well, since the failing on the part of our carpet bagger DOTUS is a political failure to deal with a public crisis.

But that’s fine. I can complain about the DOTUS on any number of topics.

Actually, the dotard just appointed his good buddy He Who Is Not Worth His Name as “Coronavirus Czar” insisting he is well qualified. That’s a laugh. Well qualified to control information and spread lies and propaganda. We’re dead.

Trump puts Pence in charge of coronavirus response

“When Mike was governor, Mike Pence of Indiana, they have established great health care, they have a great system there. A system that lot of the other states have really looked to and changed their systems. They wanted to base it on the Indiana system. It’s very good. And I think — and he is really very expert in the field,” Trump said.

Oh he’s good. He’s very good. He knows about health care. He created a great health system in Indiana and other states want Indiana’s system because it’s a great system. It’s good. It’s really good. That’s how good he is. It’s very good and my buddy is so great, he made a really great system. rolling eyes The dotard is being very redundant and says almost nothing, which means he couldn’t come up with a lie so he’s trying to convince everyone that He Who Is Not Worth His Name knows about health care, which is bullsh**. The man isn’t an expert on health. That’s lie #1 right there and he repeated that lame lie. Lie #2 the man isn’t that brilliant. What he didn’t say was that he probably put his buddy in that position so that they could suppress info and do nothing, because the dotard was so worried about the stock market falling more than he was a possible pandemic.

OK I’m done ranting about the dotard and He Who Is Not Worth His Name. Sorry if I derailed the thread, but maybe TimB is right. This is part of the Carpetbagger thread and apparently he used a lot of his tools in his carpetbag. His minions are going to believe the nothing said but one single lie repeatedly speech, due to his belief of Tell a Lie Loud Enough Long Enough. Not everyone falls for that. We’re doomed as a country and as human being living here.

Here’s something to make us laugh… Hopefully. If countries like the U.S. and China keep this up, maybe us educated people won’t become zombies and we’ll meet up along the road somewhere. Maybe we can make a better place… as long as we don’t become like the Saviours. The Kingdom with Shiva is OK. lol Oh, I need a break from the COVID-19 and politics before I lose my mind.

I would not have guessed that you were a Walking Dead fan.

They killed Shiva. :‘( I just hope they don’t kill deaf girl. Actually, my husband watches it (from the beginning), but somehow he got me watching it too. That big kitty cat got my attention and she had the same name, with the same spelling, as seen in the captions, as my late 1/2 siamese Shiva. That was cool! And I fell in love with the big kitty cat. I even made jokes my Shiva was reincarnated as a tiger. I couldn’t look when they killed (TV) Shiva though. I had to leave the room when she went down. :’( I literally cried when they killed (TV) Shiva. Now deaf girl is in trouble. :frowning: Anyway… I digress over a fake kitty cat who had the same name as my late Shiva.

I do know the CDC and WHO failed people in that show though and there lies the connection. If we keep going the way we are going in reality, the CDC and WHO will eventually fail people. Hopefully, it’s not in the near future.

Come to think of it, “walkers” do bear a resemblance to Trumpublicans.

lol Yes, they do.

Not sure this is the kind of break you were thinking of Mriana but, hey you know I like reaching for music, the great communicator.
