Non US citizens use less welfare

That’s repression of freedom, and may be double speak, but it is not newspeak.

Newspeak is : Newspeak

In fact, to be rigorous, to use of a word with a different meaning than the usual one, and to build an alternate reality are double think and no new speak.

Double think

Any way, the mistakes and crimes of the Dems do not exonerate the Rep and Magas from their owns.

Newspeak - biden called cries to stop the genocide as antisemitic.

Georgiespeak - reads an article that says, “Dissent is essential for democracy,” Biden said at the White House. “But dissent must never lead to disorder.”

And he inserts anti-semitic in there somehow.

Critical thinking has its limits in politics. I’m not against it, though.

Let’s not forget newspeak is a made-up thing from a novel so it is impossible to say what it exactly means. We might as well talk about Winston’s favorite ice cream flavor.

1984’s newspeak is not going to work in real life.

My concern about newspeak only stems from the fact that political language should be clear and easy to understand for the sake of practicality. Trump refusing to accept climate change or whatever is a compltely different topic.

It does !!!

Look at the way Trump and Magas twist the meaning of the words to give them new meanings, ans twist reality.

And, even if it is not doublespeak, look at the way US history is wowen in a myth that nothing should call into question.

Which words are these?

Every nation has that problem. It is not related to something like newspeak, but arrogance and pride.

On the positive side the truth about history can easily be discovered.

Sorry, not doublespeak, doublethink.

A French teacher in University has Chinese students among others. They have never heard about Tien An Men revolt.

The principle party slogan of Ingsoc is “Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past”. Doublethink requires the “continual alteration of the past”, the erasure of memory as a form of reality control in which the individual must perform surveillance and discipline of the self.

Herman describes in his book, Beyond Hypocrisy, the principal characteristics of doublespeak:

What is really important in the world of doublespeak is the ability to lie, whether knowingly or unconsciously, and to get away with it; and the ability to use lies and choose and shape facts selectively, blocking out those that don’t fit an agenda or program.

Totally Trump.

He lives in an alternate reality. If he believes in it, he is more dangerous than i thought. But, if he does, his supporters are criminals.

Fishing boats are narco terrorists.

Anyone from Somalia is dirt and wants to steal millions of dollars to fund terrorism.

If we eliminate all undocumented immigrants then citizens will get the jobs they do and crime rates will go down.

DOGE saved American taxpayer money.

Those aren’t word definitions being changed. Those are lies. (Somewhat).

All politicians lie. It is part of the job.

Trump’s problem is he is not good at lying and makes it obvious.

A Frenche saying by Coluche : “ When does a politician begins to lie?” “ When he opens his mouth to speak.”

All politicians lie about what they are going to do, about what they have done, about what they can do.

But the mix of half truths and lies of Trump goes beyond : he and his goons are building an alternate reality and they try to enclose people in it.

For instance, in 2021 : “ There never had been so many people at a presidential inauguration. “

It is a blatant lie, But it is a tentative to build an alternate reality people must live into. That’s doublethink. Everyone knows it is a lie, but everyone must speak and act as if a truth.

The matter with Trump is that he does believe in his alternate reality.

In DOGE, the E is efficiency. If you are going to move the goalposts, I’m done here. I’m expecting some version of “War is Peace” any day now.

Absolutely retarded. You are a perfect example of why universal suffrage is the dumbest idea humans ever came up with.

Wrong. Everyone does not have to believe Trump’s lies.

Out of all of that you pick on the word “everyone”? You’re missing the context.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually believe it. The lie can only be maintained as long as the state can protect the people from the political, economic, and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the state to use all its powers to suppress dissent, because truth is the mortal enemy of lies, and therefore, by extension, truth is the greatest enemy of the state.” (Attributed to Goebbels)

The Susan Wiles mess brought a new term for me, the non-denial denial. She complains about the process of how she was interviewed and says things like “context” but never denies the truth of her quotes
