I don’t really like fascism but there’s no other option if you’re not liberal.

When I look at the common descriptions of what makes fascism, I see that I support most of those things.
So really, I am a fascist.
I will add that the difference between a dictatorship and a totalitarian state is that:
- in a dictatorship, as long as the people sut up and don’t meddle withe the powers, nothing will arrive to them
- in a totalitarian state, the people must actively support the state, and actively share its ideology, be it nationalism, communism or religion ; the control of the people is absolute, and every aspect of their lives is controlled; the totalitarian state presents itself as a permanent victim of enemy plots, and enemies must be crushed and killed.
Maga movement is a fascist movement and Trump wants to set up an authoritarian state. does he want to institute a fascist state, it cannot be ruled out. I would say that if he does that, it probably would be more to satisfy the Magas than by conviction.
But his war against wokism, science and critical thinking a big step
That article says fascists have a “desire to return to an imaginary past where natural hierarchies were respected…” and supporters see themselves as victims. It discusses types and aspects of fascism, so simply pointing to the article as a definition is not helpful. It would be helpful to know if you see violence as end in itself or corporatism as a better way to drive the economy.

I would like to know what Thaton thinks of these ideas, and if he does recognize himself in them.
The article clearly gives examples of what most people think fascism is. Differences exist, but they’re minor.

Your 14 signs of fascism list is mostly things I agree with either completely or partially. The only things I don’t agree at all with is militarism for the sake of militarism, and “newspeak”.

One of the shapes Newspeak takes is under the guise of “ alternative facts “
One another shape is the way Trump and Magas use the words with a changed meaning. for instance “Freedom of speech” is freedom to insult, to sow hate and to emit fake news, while repressing opponents named communists and wokes.

There were many democrat politicians who were calling for the shutdown of protests at universities campus regarding the genocide against the Palestinians, even to the extend of withholding funding if no action taken. You also question Dems newspeak on freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly?
Could you explain and give some exemples? I don’t live in USA and even if i follow what happens there, i don’t know the details.
And are you sure you are not trying to divert the topic from ¨Magas and rep to Dems?
