Let's all be grateful for Trump.

You're just encouraging him.
Sadly, yes...sorry. I've certainly done my part.
You're just encouraging him.
Thank you, sometimes I can use a little encouragement.
We have different views on this point. Americans are scared. Just about every American I know, knows someone who had their medical insurance taken away. People in retirement who had paid all their working life into a medical plan that would pay all the bills when they got old. Had their contracts torn up by the insurance carriers under the directions of the Federal Government. Big business used the Federal Government to rob them. They watched department heads lie to congress and get away with it. There is no doubt the whole show was a put on to fool the general public, thank god for Snowden. If you can’t trust your government, you had better be scared. Otherwise you are stupid. The smart people of America decided it was time for major changes in Washington. The people were not voting for Trump as much as voting against the ruling DC political machine. I totally agree with you about the hijab.
I know people who were able to afford health care for the first time due to the affordable health care act. Before it there were about 45 million uninsured Americans and over 100 million under-insured - the insurance was only there if they didn't really need it. Health care reform under Obama didn't create a crisis for most Americans when it came to insurance, it acknowledged for the first time there was a very serious crisis that had been ignored for decades. Treating everything including illness as a way to make money is the issue here, not whether or not the "government" is trying to rob people. And actually trying to give people health care, which has worked in many cases - 20 million more Americans received insurance under ACA] - which the Obama administration did even if its augmentation was flawed beats the last administration which orchestrated one of the most expensive wars in US history for no real gain while standing back and allowing the Great Recession to happen and baled out billionaires with $700 billion dollars of public funds. So we have the democrats trying to save lives on the one hand while on the other hand the last Republican administration was doing everything it could to take them away. The total awareness intelligence scheme wasn't something dreamed up by Obama, it was created under Bush and Cheney. And the ruling machine isn't in Washington, it's Big Money in New York and Americans just elected President a psychopathic billionaire from there. Want to guess how much worse things are going to get from here. You just got fooled. You don’t know anyone that was able to afford health care. You know people who paid into a government subsidized program. The taxpayers were most likely paying more of the bill than the people that you know were paying. It is going to be interesting on how Trump will try and fix this mess. The whole Obamacare program is designed to crash and burn unless huge amounts of federal funds are pumped into the system. It is a federal program that is using federal dollars to keep the program afloat until the federal government passes the costs to the States. Where do you think the States are going to get the money from? The federal government is just printing its money. What are the states going to do? They could try and cut education costs in half and close state colleges. But then they end up battling Federal mandates. The people have reached a point where they will not approve more taxes. The Federal government will come and demand the people to pay more fees and taxes. Now the problem is not just State Power verses Federal power, it is the people power verses Federal Power. You just got a taste of that with the election of Trump. I disagree with you views on health care. Over 80% of health care costs occurs in the last few years of a person’s life. The idea is that you pay into a system that invests a large part of your monthly payment into the risk pool, reinsurance pools and reinvestment pools. Then as you get older your insurance payments will not increase and you have full coverage. These pools of money are huge and are never talked about in the news. Now the baby boomers are coming of age and the pools will start paying out on the health care. The health care industry got the government to take over the health care. Rewrite your health insurance contract. And they get to keep the money in the pools. The government insurance programs will not pay full coverage. So, you now have out of pocket expenses. Obamacare most likely would have worked if the government had taken the pool money from the insurance carriers. They did not. Why????????? Had the federal government taken the pool money. The States most likely would be fighting to get Obamacare up and running for their share of the pool funds. The investment funds would be covering much of the insurance costs. The States would have control of the health care which it historically always has had. Take off your tin hat for one moment and finally listen to what's being said. There are millions of people who couldn't afford health care before the ACA who now can. It's not some government plot to take everybody's money, it's a flawed program in a deeply flawed political system in a society with some very serious issues. No one is going to "fix" health care in the US - or anything else - until the real issues are dealt with. The main one being this insane belief that money can fix all problems and that it's the only measure of worth. Something you constantly propagate with your equally insane climate change denial here. Trump isn't going to fix anything because more than anyone else who was running in this election he's entirely committed to the religion of money which is the real issue in America today. If you look at pre-existing conditions. Then yes the system is rigged for them. Otherwise you are denier. The Democrats don’t want to take claim for the system now and the Republicans are stuck with having to restructure and fix a very costly system. Thank God for the Republicans and Trump. Go back to where the health care was dreamed up by Bush and Cheney. Yes, we needed a good health care system. And we still do. Just look how this Democratic Obamacare came about. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."

Mike if you knew half as much think you do, you might be worth listening to.

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/november-19-1945-harry-truman-calls-national-health-insurance-program/ 69 years ago, a president pitches his idea for national health care BY DR. HOWARD MARKEL November 19, 2014 This past July 30, we celebrated the 49th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid. Readers of this column will recall it was on that date in 1965 when President Lyndon Baines Johnson formally signed these two programs into law in Independence, Missouri, as former president Harry S. Truman and his steadfast wife, Bess, looked on with pride. As LBJ handed “Give ‘Em Hell Harry" and Bess the pens he used to affix his signature to the document, the President proclaimed Mr. Truman as “the real daddy of Medicare." Today marks the reason why LBJ bestowed such presidential credit to Harry Truman. Back in 1945 — a mere seven months into a presidency he inherited from Franklin D. Roosevelt — Truman proposed a “universal" national health insurance program. In his remarks to Congress, he declared, “Millions of our citizens do not now have a full measure of opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health. Millions do not now have protection or security against the economic effects of sickness. The time has arrived for action to help them attain that opportunity and that protection."

The problem these people have with ACA isn’t that it doesn’t work, it’s that it exists in the first place. In their 'Merica everybody makes and pays for their own way, that health care stuff is socialism. Which is fine if you own a corporation, a large investment bank or oil company. Then it’s perfectly fine to go to Uncle Sam with your hand out and say, “more billions please”.
Before ACA medical bills were the leading cause of bankruptcy and home foreclosure. Almost 50 million people were uninsured and twice that number had insurance with so many loopholes that it was next to meaningless in the case of serious illness. Insurers had - and probably still do - large departments who’s only purpose was to deny as many claims as possible.

Health care is socialistic, so is insurance if you look at it that way. And you are wrong in the thinking that people don’t want a good health care system. That has always been on the top of the list of what the people want the government to provide. The problem is not as much in the health care as it is in the skills of the government. Most people feel the government is not capable of administrating a large heath care program. Just look at the IRS for example. Or the stimulus program. Part of the stimulus program was to get better internet services across the United States. A report just came out that in some areas the costs to get better internet services to a house was more that the cost of the house itself. In one area the government spent seven million a house to get better service. And the house could have gotten the same service from satellite internet. The government involvement in the news media caused many thousands of small radio stations to close across the country. The government involvement in banking has also caused thousands of small banks to close. Now we are hearing the same issues from the small medical operations. The government right now is spending over $9,500.00 per person on health care. Or 17.5% of our GDP. It is projected to reach 20% by 2022. Now look at countries like the UK, they spend 8.8% of GDP on total health care. Germany 9.4% of GDP. The second issue is the political issue. Take the IRS for example. 90% democrats, just tell me how that happens? It seems like these large government departments turn out to be magnets for democrats. Just look at the level of some of these posting, need I say more.

Great work. A posting without a point. You don't have a clue, do you. Or is your point that for 45 years America was a bunch of idiots, and now you are here to point that out. And the idiots didn't know how to do anything, all you have to do is throw money at any problem and it will be fixed. You forgot to point out that during this time the greatest transfer of wealth in modern history was taking place. America rebuilt Europe and a lot of other places around the world. If that transfer of American wealth had not taken place then, yes, we could have implemented a national health care. Money sent overseas could have been used to relieve the areas of the country that were still hurting from the depression. And the dollar was just becoming the only safe-haven currency and we were back on the gold standard. Didn't you say in a posting not that long ago that if Trump got elected that the Stock Market would crash. I read yesterday that the Stock Market has now broken record highs. Sorry if that was not you, it is hard to keep you guys apart when you form your groupies.
Great work. A posting without a point.
He was looking in a mirror as he typed this...

Think of America as a beautiful - or even moderately attractive - woman sitting on a plane or at a bar. And as President Donald Trump has just come and sat down next to her and is giving her the eye.
I’m guessing when all is said and done very few Americas are going to be grateful to Trump for the assault on the US body politic that is about to occur.

The point is the struggle to get universal health care has a long history, that it would be worth being familiar with.
But then background information isn’t too big these days, is it.

We have a country with millions, all with their unique self-obsessed bitches and complaints and reasons for feeling victimized.
But how many of them have the curiosity or honesty or ability at self-reflection,
to get to understand the trajectory this country has been on and where it has taken us?
And now where it is on the cusp of taking us?
The Alt-Right and the
neocons and the
neo Republicans
and the Libertarians
and the religiously folks
and their varied braintrusts and leaders and funders -
all depend on fabricating bullshit in order to ignore a serious looking at the how we got here, and how we self-created these problems we seem desperate to blame others for.
Nowadays it’s too easy for everyone to turn everyone else into an enemy, and root cause of all our pathetic problems.
All the while ignoring the problems we inflict on others.
The insane spinning wheel. There was a short time, when I was a kid, when folks actually thought humanity might have it in them to learn from millennia worth of experiences and lessons combined with modern mastery over our natural world. But no, we are as tribal and short-sighted and as primitive reflex driven as all the mammals and bugs we feel so superior to.

Keep in mind the most fundamental observation of this past election is that “The Lie” has become accepted political currency.
Normalized as part of modern living. United States of America is no longer a government with a President, it is now a business with a CEO in charge of marketing and PR.
And people seem okay with that. Are you?
For the record, jettisoning honesty is an utterly insane strategy for left, right, rational and faith-based and most of all, for future generations! Yet, this fundamental far-reaching lack of honesty is largely ignored, an example of destructive seepage if there ever was one.

This is my takeaway lesson from a long conversation with a career Navy guy yesterday. It was an interesting conversation, yet another example of two guys who on the face of it have nothing in common, yet turn out we share by the same principles and ethics and were certainly capable of sharing an interesting long interactive conversation reflecting on our different paths and perspectives. It was a Happy Thanksgiving

The last time it happened on this level it didn't work out very well for the world. http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/kampf.html#2
All this was inspired by the principle - which is quite true in itself - that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes. From time immemorial, however, the Jews have known better than any others how falsehood and calumny can be exploited. Is not their very existence founded on one great lie, namely, that they are a religious community, where as in reality they are a race? And what a race! One of the greatest thinkers that mankind has produced has branded the Jews for all time with a statement which is profoundly and exactly true. Schopenhauer called the Jew "The Great Master of Lies". Those who do not realize the truth of that statement, or do not wish to believe it, will never be able to lend a hand in helping Truth to prevail.
In this case Trump was able to convince enough people that someone who really didn't give a damn about anyone else but himself wouldn't have the audacity to make a serious run for the Presidency. Now they're going to find out what it means to have a naked sociopath in the White House.
I can't say I am grateful for the malignant narcissist we chose but I am glad for the wake up call. Whenever we have chosen to far to the left or right or our choice was simply stupid it does tend to wake us and slap us back to reality. I have no doubt that in 2020 Americans will make a wiser choice, if the is a 2020 that is.
Who were the far left choices we've made?

Trump nominated DeVos for Sec. of Education.
Billionaire Republican donor, supporter of vouchers for religious schools but
perhaps most dangerously, firm apostle of Creationism.
Any thoughts?

A big 1st Amendment battle in the Supreme Court.
Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The First Amendment makes the US constitution better than those of most countries in the world. However, it should be amended on the free exercise of religion part. Free exercise of some religions would be horrible for human rights, and freedom of religion must be truncated for freedom of humanity. Obviously, I would not expect conservative politicians, including Donald Trump, to do that.

Yeah I got a few things to say about that. If you want visit: Profiles in Delusion - Betsy DeVos http://citizenschallenge.blogspot.com/2016/11/profiles-in-delusion-betsy-devos.html WAKE UP AMERICA - CARE ABOUT EDUCATION ? http://citizenschallenge.blogspot.com/2016/11/wake-up-america-care-about-education.html WAKE UP AMERICA - CARE ABOUT EDUCATION ? While the Alt-Right and Republicans and our media and even our Democratic Party 'leaders' are putting a nice face on it, our government is transitioning into what promises to be the most Wild Wild West destructive one ever in the White House. The bottom-line (that everyone seems to be avoiding with determination) is that this Republican campaign has been dominated by a dialogue where truth and honesty are treated as dispensable jokes. Facade, fabricating alt-facts, bullying opponents, bluster are all used in what's become a generally accepted amoral exercise of avoiding objective reality. To me it seems, another example of "Seepage" in action, although this time in politics rather than science. Though the same cynical PR machine has driven that seepage. (FYI - http://www.shapingtomorrowsworld.org/lewandowskyseepage.html). This election 2016 should make clear to all concerned thinking citizens out there that no body has our back, not our political leaders, not the pundits of our liking, not the news media, certainly not those egomaniacal oligarchs who are today's masters of the universe and are busy with their own disconnected agenda. They are going to obliterate We The Proud American People and our achievements and future goals in direct proportion to how many millions of Americans get off the sidelines and take on some responsible for turning around the national degeneration we have been witnessing. A million conversations across the left and right fences of our respective backyards. Don't need to go far, your family, friends, co-workers, etc. And now we come to Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, someone who hates our public education system. Someone who is so damned full of herself, that she believes she has a personal relationship with the God of space and time, life and love. Heck this petty, self-centered human has so little self-recognition that she believes her personal god has sent her on a national mission to rescue American education from multi-culturalism and science based learning. God told her to do it! Her god has also told her that this planet I inhabit is 6,000 years old and if I don't agree with her personal belief, well, that makes me an enemy - that's it. Nothing to talk about. Objective down to Earth evidence means nothing when confronting the self-certainty of DeVos brand of religious zealotry. Americans, it's your move. Got it in ya? Can ya stand up to their dogma based bullying? Better do something, or get steamrollered. Democracy, live it or lose it! DeVos Devoted Career To Dismantling Public Education Nov 23, 2016 by Maggie Garrett in Wall of Separation ... much more over there . . .
There are more confused and stupid people in America than l expected
I'd put my money on stupid. Willfully ignoramt.
