Is Trump a curse?

A few thoughts for the moment.

I despair for this country. I would never have guessed that the American electorate is so abjectly ignorant.

Authoratarianism rising

I have always been optimistic concerning politics but after last nights results I’m very concerned. I’m an old guy and this was the first Presidential election in which I actually feared for my country because of a candidate. Unfortunately what I feared the most happened even though I was in no way crazy about the other candidate. At any event, we must go forward, water under the bridge never comes back.

I will never stand for or salute the US flag as long as that blithering idiot is in the White House. Everyone with at least half a brain should move his or her investments out of the US and as far away from US companies as possible. There is another 2008 looming. We have just witnessed the US government go down in flames. I will never again be proud to call myself an American. I have lost my country. For all intents and purposes I will consider myself stateless as long as we have thos blithering idiot in the White House. I never thought I would see the day that I would be abjectly ashamed to call myself an American. But that day has arrived.

America has officially jumped the shark.

America has officially jumped the shark.
Yep. Rather than making America great again Trump will destroy our credibility with the rest of the world.

The credibility Obama rebuilt after GW Bush destroyed it.

You got that right. Obama, did have a lot of clean up after Bush. And he was a much better President than Bush. The problem is what happens with the dollar affects most of the countries around the world. If retirement today means a job at McDonnell’s, then we are well on our way. No transparency, secret courts and electronic spying on the people. Just to name a few of the problems that should have been corrected. The banks and the health care industries have gotten fifthly rich off the backs of the working man. None of that was ever going to change with Washington insiders in control. Now there is hope.

Chart of the day showed Republican numbers have been 50 mil for 3 presidential elections in a row. Dems had 68 mil in 08, 65 mil in 12, then this anemic response to Hillary. Liberals are lazy. They respond to disaster, then take a nap. They constantly need something new and sexy.

Agreed and the Democrats are as inept as one can imagine.

Lovely weather for fire and brimstone this year huh?

I agree there is hope, but not for the reasons you believe there is hope. If you think Trump is going to change the Washington insider way of governing you're terribly naive. Have you read about his transition team and the people he plans to appoint to to his cabinet? Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, Reince Priebus, Chris Christie... Sounds like the same old same old. I have hope because we now have the chance to reboot the Democratic Party and return it to its roots of representing the common people. We can kick out the cronies, say goodbye to the Clinton gang and start fresh with younger people who are not as influenced by Wall Street and energy companies. Trump beating Hillary might turn out to be a good thing in the long run.

Here’s what I’m seeing. To get the extra few million you need to win, you could go after the youth, and after people who are smart and listen to reason. Either party can get 60 million people who just listen to sound bites or vote the same way without thinking about it.

As was previous alluded to, I’m more concerned about the people the POTUS surrounds himself with.
Christie & Giuliani are thugs, Gingrich is a pseudo-intellectual zealot of the Right; heard a report that the Breitbart guy might be
Chief of Staff. Despicable.

There is only one good thing about the horse’s ass winning the election, and it isn’t that good. He will knock George W Bush out of first place as the worst president we’ve had since FDR.

Well where the hell were they when they were needed??? So few taking this shit seriously. Looks at us here at CFI a dozen old folks, rather than dozens of people buzzing about current matters and even trying to build community. No one got no time for this sort of stuff. The apathy, and now this, Hillary was incapable of appreciating her position and figuring out the simple honest from the heart things she needed to say. Then her pretending she could ignore the disenfranchised white old school heartland - the reaching across should have started during the election. Instead, she simply inflamed them and fried herself. So easy to see happening, yet another idiotic loss, sort of like 2000, when Gore never figured it out and idiots like Nader needed their moment in the limelight. And all the non-voting rationalists and progressives and minorities and lefties and the rest thinking this was all another theater joke like the hollywood movies they take for reality - ---------------------------------- You know Trump's rallies bulging at the seams should of given the big shots a hint. Another thing, for all of Trump screaming about rigged elections - why weren't the Democrats screaming bloody murder right back? Lords knows there;s enough district gerrymandering and voter suppression going one! Why weren't they screaming every f'n day about not being allowed to have hearing for Merrick Garland. Democrats suck - perhaps the one good thing that will come out of this is that they folks running the Democratic Party are tossed out and some young folks with brains, passion and ability to speak show up to take up the slack. Then again, depending on the vagaries of our Global Warming driven Changing Climate, there will be other hits and disruptions and what get's broken ain't getting fixed ever again.

Now here’s a curse, we just elected a Russian pawn :ahhh:
