Speaking of quiet as a cemetery.
Anyone out there notice it’s election day?
Perhaps the question should be, anyone give a damned?
Speaking of quiet as a cemetery. Anyone out there notice it's election day? Perhaps the question should be, anyone give a damned? :smirk:I have been trying to find a place to hide. Wake me when it's over, or if a Trump disaster should strike, shoot me on the spot..
Speaking of quiet as a cemetery. Anyone out there notice it's election day? Perhaps the question should be, anyone give a damned? :smirk:Voted. Please be sure to vote today if you haven't already.
My family and I turned in our ballots a couple of weeks ago. I’m doing everything I can to avoid the news channels until late this evening. I have a cigar for celebrating Clinton’s victory and tequila in case Cheeto wins.
I’m staying up late, taking tomorrow off. I’m hoping for the best conciliation moment since Gore/Bush 2000.

If you are retired or anywhere newr it, wave goodbye to a pleasant retirement. You may have to move in with your kids. Wave goodbye to Social Security. Wave goodbye to peace. Wave goodbye to the ACA. Wave goodbye to Medicare. If you're working, wave goodby to your job.

I started to watch the coverage, but I found I just could not take the suspense. I turned off the television and busied myself with something else so I wouldn't think about it. This morning when I got up and heard the news, I wanted to crawl back into bed. Either that or shoot myself. But life goes on.
Yes, life goes on. We may be able to fix the environmental and economic damage of a Trump presidency, but we’ll be dealing with his court appointments for decades.
I woke p at 2 a.m. and could not get back to sleep, so I poured myself a double shot of tequila and logged onto Facebook. Seems a lot of my friends could not sleep either. Shock will do that to you, I guess. This morning I’m seeing posts from both sides. The conservatives, while strangely ciil, still refuse to explain how they justify voting for a person endorsed by the KKK and the American Nazi Party. One of my cousins has been harassing me with gloating text messages. He’s an idiot, though, which I’ve known for decades, so I’m ignoring him.
I’m asking my Trump Facebook friends to post a list of what they think Trump will do. I want to keep it and bring up 4 years from now
There are two silver linings in all this (OK, maybe none if you are something other than a straight uneducated white Anglo-Saxon Christian male).
- After listening to 8 years of Conservative blowhards whine, cry and moan about Obama bullying them and Liberals pushing them around, its time to put up or shut up. The question is, however, after 8 years of doing nothing (other than obstructing Obama and collecting a paycheck), do they actually know how to do anything? At any rate, they have no more excuses for not making America great. The deficit will disappear, unemployment will be 0% and everyone (who is a white Christian male anyway) will have jobs making more money than they ever made before.
- I don’t think we need to worry too much about him actually fulfilling any of his promises. He told the pliable ignorant masses what they wanted to hear to get elected. Now he merely needs to remain consistent and deny he ever promised anyone anything.
I'm asking my Trump Facebook friends to post a list of what they think Trump will do. I want to keep it and bring up 4 years from nowShare it over here to. It will be worth seeing what they are thinking. While you're at it, I've been curious: How would they describe Trump's redeeming values? Be curious what those are.
This morning a very old political cartoon came to mind.
Seems frighteningly apt to me.Image, Bill Mauldin 1963

So far I got, "why are you being so negative"
Here’s what I wrote
Do me a favor Trumpers. Make a list of what you expect for the next four years. I will keep it and remind you then. There will be no wall. There will not be peace in the Mideast. The Market will be down. There will not be unity. Cities will not be safer. Health care will not be affordable. Morality will not return. Education will not be more available to middle income families.See why my old High School friend said "why the negativity" ? It took me about two hours realize it. Apology has been delivered.
Here's what I wroteCute rhetorical gotchas are just that. Yes, we feel negative towards Trump based on his own words and deeds!!! Now, was your friend able to provide anything of constructive substance?* Or did he simply shove it off on you, as they do so well :long: Oh is my negativity showing :red: * If not perhaps you could ask him again.Do me a favor Trumpers. I’ve asked a similar question on several FB threads, but went out of my way to avoid being negative.
“Trump won and will be our president for at least the next four years. We need to work together and move this country forward. I ask this with an open mind: What do you like about Donald Trump.”
So far nothing but crickets. I’ll report the answers, if there are any.

It would be interesting to know what they're "thinking", but they have proven that are incapable of forming a rational thought. Lois
