The most common great white savior stories are the ones where they first stole land, extracted resources, enslaved people, then realized their might be consequences for their actions, so they turned around and "saved" them. How else would you describe the history of Africa, South America and India?

From what I can see historically, much of what whites gained was essentially stolen from other people. Well I don’t know about stolen since I don’t think the indigenous people saw themselves as owners of land, but they did force them off, brutalize and enslaved them, and since the founding of America there’s always been some minority being oppressed.

My god this is a mess. It’s posts like these that make me hate what modern liberalism has become. A bunch of bigots who quickly label people as racist due to non-conformity of their ideologies. The reality is that both Caucasians and Asians have been hands down the most prolific when it comes to modern inventions. Spinning this into some racial superiority argument is exactly the knee-jerk response I’d expect from today’s liberals and is why I can no longer identify myself as one.

It’s not really non conformity when your viewpoint is mistaken and full of holes. How do you even measure superior? From where I stand it seems little more than opinion. I could say the indigenous people are superior because they knew how much they could take and still have things in balance rather than just harvesting everything in existence. Is technological progress superior when it leads to more efficient methods of killing or weapons that can level cities? If that’s what’s meant by being superior then I’d prefer to be inferior.
I guess I can relate it to how people rave about New York or cities in general. Having been there I can say it’s nice but in small doses. I couldn’t possibly imagine living in such a place.
I just don’t get people who want to take everything into the extremes. Here’s what I see things breaking down to. It’s okay to bash Caucasians by making blanket statements about how they are the most destructive race in the world. In fact, it’s now trendy for white people to bash on white culture, but make sure you don’t give them credit for anything. That’s white supremacy.

Alright, let’s admit that discussing race is a difficult topic. You can’t talk about it without talking about how people have and are acting poorly. One way to handle that is to discuss specific behaviors by specific people. You can go a little further and discuss statistics, but using statistics to justify generalizations is no longer scientific inquiry. Saying “where are the black people” is definitely over the line.
My point is it’s only seemingly acceptable to bash on white people on just about any forum you go to, yet every other culture seems to be untouchable when it comes to scrutiny. Not only is white bashing okay but it’s often rewarded in a circle jerk festival of crazy leftists.

They are saying that they are not a superior race. That is a scientifically demonstrable fact. If you have some evidence for this white bashing that is going on, please present it. So far you have made unsubstantiated claims and engaged in name calling to some nameless and faceless group. Don't waste our time.
I don’t consider it bashing to bring up the history that white people have of oppressing other cultures and, in the case of America, minorities. Even if you could call this that it’s a slap on the wrist compared to what they have done historically. The Scramble for Africa was hard to read about and same with the opium wars.

You know there use to be at least one black person on the forum and for some reason she hasn’t been here in a couple of years now. Ignorance concerning people of colour, just like it does me, got her goat. It might be why she’s not here anymore. My older son, who’s 1/2 black, use to be on CFI forums too. I think the thread that was on the old version of this forum that tick him off was race and IQ- the original poster was ignorant enough to say white people were more intelligent than black people. He’s gifted and another member insisted my son got his intelligence just from me and not his father too. Genes don’t work that way and my sons knows it. My sons both know they got their genes from both parents, including their intelligence. That said, it also got the other member’s goat too, as well as mine.
No one is superior to another and to praise someone on superior greatness is either trying to be a jerk, which means there is no sincerity to it, or pure ignorance.

You know, at one time Africa had many countries with great ships that sailed around and they were prosperous. What happened? Wars, feminine, kidnapping and selling other tribes into slavery… Even Egypt had a great civilization and built great pyramids. Then there was the Mayans and Aztecs too, but now they are no where to be found. So I wouldn’t say nobody else does this. Others have too, but have either disappeared or fallen.
So, I’m not sure what you’re fighting tooth and nail for. The 1% has almost everything and there’s not much left for the rest of us to fight over. Maybe you should think about fighting the oligarchy that has the power currently, because it’s not people of colour we need to have issues with. At one time, we all had a fair share of the pie, but the rich didn’t like that so they found a way to take almost everything and leave little for the middle class and poor. IMHO, it’s the oligarchy we need to dethrone and overthrow, not worry about immigrants possibly taking jobs that aren’t really there. This kind of civilization will collapse just like others have, be it through war or destroying itself through greed with oppression of others. If you think one groups is superior to others and you give them little because you think you deserve more, then you will eventually lose what you’ve been fighting tooth and nail to keep. No one wins.

I don’t think choosing to feel superior over another feels good either. Why not allow yourself to be equal with another. Treat them as a fellow human being- with kindness and compassion, sharing with them. IMHO that feels far better than either extreme.
