I’m always mystified when I hear people chest-thumbing about the superiority of the European White lineage - (whatever the hell that is - no one has been able to define it, great foundation for a belief system, eh.).

Sure Western Society has been most powerful, overwhelming even, thing. But, to imagine that our ingenuity is all our own doing, is as ludicrous as the “Self-made Man” myth. Take trump for an example, in the imagination of millions he is a “self-made” American. All fairytale from a reality fact based perspective. But hey, think about it, when haven’t fairytales been good enough for people as they stumble from some great resources driven rise to self-created destructive event and collapse, time after time.

Oh yes, I forgot all about the steel mills, glass factories, electricity generating plants and oil refineries the native peoples had before the European invasion. I’ve been think about starting a collection of 17th and 18th century native peoples’ texts on science and technology. Do you know of any collectors who might be willing to part with some?


So Bob, you actually believe that white’s are somehow superior?

Do you have any appreciation for technology development and transfer throughout the past thousands of years? Or human migrations for that matter?

Who are these whites that are so superior - can you offer any details beyond sweeping assertions?

Oh and about that great technological prowess.

How much is there to be proud of if we refuse to recognize the dangers gadgets create?

How much is there to be proud if we willfully and freely lie about well understood physical facts in order to ignore the damages our wonderful gadgets also create?

What about committing self-destruction while willfully deluding yourself into refusing to do anything about your said self-destructive actions?

To me it seems more like a idiots’ shit show, than anything to be proud of.

But, that’s okay by next century about this time, it’ll all be nobody’s memory.

I really don’t know what is so big about being white. I consider myself human, because that is the only race, but my heritage is Native American, French/German (Alsace Lorraine border), and all of the British Isles. My sons also have Black and Greek in them. All come with their unique heritage and traditions. So yeah, looking at me, one may think I’m white or Native American. I’ve been asked many times if I was Native and the answer is always part, but some see white. I still don’t know what is so big about being white, especially when I see some white people become so hateful of others who are white. I don’t even understand their hatred, which is repulsive to me.

There is no question Whites created the modern world. Other groups have contributed of course, but it is far from equal. Whites are undeniably are the biggest drivers of progress on earth and have advanced human knowledge and human possibility more than everyone else combined. Denial of this fact is purely political (or psychological for some).

I don’t think we should gloat, though.

My grandpa told me a story that explained why people have different skin colors. He said that Adam and Eve had black skin color and all their descendants that populated the world were black. God was not pleased. He created a huge lake for people to wash the black color off their skins. People with white skins are descended from ancestors who were the first to wash themselves in that lake. Those that arrived later had to wash in less than clear water and came out not as white. Late comers came out brown. By the time the last of the stragglers arrived at the lake, it was just a layer of mud and they could only step on the mud and pat their hands on the damp ground. And that is why black folks have clear skin on their hands and feet.

I am sure that the first artificial tools (the mark of intelligence) were made by dark skinned people.

Can anyone tell me what the great fundamental difference between pink and brown people is?

I hope every one understands that there are no “white” people and no “black” people. We’re all “colored” people.

Are albinos (a rare genetic disorder) the smartest people in the world? Are the darkest people the stupidest people in the world? What on earth is everybody talking about?

I bet that racially prejudiced people of any color are generally of low intelligence, no?

What is racial prejudice? We need to make a distinction between racial prejudice and racial discrimination.

Racial prejudice usually occurs at the personal level as in preferring to live among folks of one’s own race, or marrying people of the same race, or not letting out one’s home to applicants of another race. It’s like a choice between vanilla and strawberry flavors. In this regard, the Constitution should protect one’s personal freedom to choose.

Racial discrimination in public policy brings about unequal treatment that favors one racial group over another. Affirmative action is racial prejudice practiced at the institutional level. It is informed by the superstitious belief that all whites, especially males, are superior. It denies Americans of this race equal protection under the Constitution.

Of course, there isn’t any difference. I already stated that it is racial prejudice being practiced both at the personal level (to choose who lives in my house) as well as at the institutional level (to deny any race equal treatment under the law).

You must be joking because Whites are by far the most active in trying to alert the world about climate change, and the most active in fighting it. Nobody would have even heard about climate change if it wasn't for White scientists and White society in general -- which allows mass communication and international cooperation to exist.

This is probably accurate, but nothing to brag about. Other animals can also build simple tools. However only light skinned humans have ever built complex tools and built complex things with those tools.

We know skin color itself has no effect on intelligence or creativity, it’s just that peoples who evolved in the temperate part of the world developed those skills after they developed lighter skin.

When did this whites bashing began? Some say that it started with Obama. I can understand blacks bashing whites not that I agree with the justifications. What I don't understand is whites bashing whites. It smacks of the kind of treasonous behavior exemplified by Jane Fonda back in the days of Vietnam.

The genetic composition of populations in Europe changed during the Neolithic transition from hunting and gathering to farming. To better understand the origin of modern populations, Broushaki et al. sequenced ancient DNA from four individuals from the Zagros region of present-day Iran, representing the early Neolithic Fertile Crescent.

These individuals unexpectedly were not ancestral to early European farmers, and their genetic structures did not contribute significantly to those of present-day Europeans. These data indicate that a parallel Neolithic transition probably resulted from structured farming populations across southwest Asia.

Well actually I do. You folks create stuff to get all up set about, just the politics of the moment, its pretty much contrived ad hoc.

It’s really all about group identity and manipulating human passions.

I remember a short glimmer when it seemed like maybe we could do better this time around - but doesn’t look like it.

 

Guy, what is it you’re after?, do you have any conception of the future and what you’d like it to look like? Do you really think this politics of resentment and absolutism can produce anything people want to live within?
