What the world thinks about our infatuation with Donald Trump

...If you want a good dairy worker, it is known as a young man’s trade. Most workers are below twenty-five years of age. You want someone who has worked with animals, can understand and are good to the animals, are able to work outdoors in all types of weather, and can work well with others and be at work when required. New York City would not be the place to look for these types of skills. Rural Mexico would be an idea place.
Oh yeah? What if our American cows don't understand Spanish? Oh, wait... our American cows probably wouldn't understand that New York City dialect, either. :) It’s not the Spanish, or the loud music. That does not bother the cows at all. But the trick is to have contended cow, they give more milk. You get more milk if you keep the same people around the cows and not have employee turnover. And to always use women in the milking process. Cows give more milk when handled by women. I kid you not. There have been several college studies and they all show women get more milk from cows. Figure that one out.

I’m most curious about this “work then go home” thing you said. How would that work for those Russian guys? Would they fly home every night.
As for me, I delivered pizza, now I work in a cube. I could exaggerate about all the temporary jobs I’ve had, but I don’t see the point.

You got it all figured out Lausten, You’re a real smart man. I can see you’re thinking. Russian’s fly home every night and why wouldn’t they fly home for lunch too? There is nothing wrong with delivering pizzas. I have never worked in a cube, but on some high security locations. I hated the fact that the buildings had no windows because of security and I never knew if the sun was shining or it was raining until I left the building. I have never worked temporary jobs before either. But I did have a temporary labor company, I was too busy to get involved with the company. The reason for the company was to supply jobs for the labor leasing construction workers. When they filed worker’s compensation claims, it meant they couldn’t work anymore doing things like heavy lifting and stuff. The temporary company was set up so we could put them to work doing things like watching constructing sites at night and stuff like that. We also made the services available for people who came from off the street looking for work. I remember in a meeting the staffers of the temporary company told me and I can’t remember the number, but it was shocking, the number of temporary day labors we had working that had master’s degrees. Hey, we all got to work. And the only place to exaggerate about work is on your resume. Seems like everyone does. I know I did. I always fit my resume for the job I was after. The resume is just to get you to the next step of a person to person interview or phone interview. And if you’re full of BS you’ll never get pass that interview and will have just been wasting your time.

I get the joke, but you're the one who made it. You said you're okay with people from other countries coming here to work, but then they should go home. What did you mean by that? And I know what a work VISA is, so don't just say "work VISA".
This is a sad comment on the American people. Trump panders to the part of America that thinks there is a simple answer to everything and all we need is some loud mouth "I don't give a crap what anyone else thinks" leader to build a wall across our southern border and increased tariffs on foreign products to "make America great again". He appeals to the simple minded and unfortunately we have a lot of them.
When dealing with the public, you got to keep it simple. So I would not worry about the Mexican Wall. Most campaign promises and platforms are hot air. And we all know that. We have the ability to stop illegal immigration at any time almost overnight if we wanted to. We have never really want to, is the problem with illegal immigration. I read where Trump’s companies applied for over 1,000 visas last year. So I would have to bet he is a lot more than simple minded on the subject. And yes the tariff system needs to be reworked. We just cannot open our boarders up for trade. One year I saw the apple orchards around Caldwell, Idaho being plowed down because of open trade. China started selling frozen apple concentrate to the US market for five cents a pound. Killed our production. Now look at the price of apple juice today. And look who controls it. Sometimes when you destroy things, you never get them back. If you want to see night time war games. Just go to San Diego board fence. Helicopters, Humvees search lights, red and blue flashing lights. It is quite something to see. I was at the San Ysidro beach and a couple of girls ask me if I knew where the border patrol bus was. They had come up to party and were too tired to walk back to Tijuana. Stopped for coffee and there were border patrol guys there from the San Ysidro and Otay Mesa border crossing. The crossings are only a few miles from each other. They were comparing how many people they had picked up the night before. Both were over 2,500 and this was some years back. Fences don’t stop people. What bothered me more than the border crossing was the high school in Chula Vista, right next to Otay Mesa. The student parking lot was full of cars, all with Mexico plates. The music and messages over the schools intercom were all in Spanish. Point being, the rest of the world doesn’t have a grip on what our problems are. It would be very hard to explain to them why we need a guy like Trump. It's very hard to explain to sentient AMERICANS why we need a guy like Trump. I would not want to take a chance on his rhetoric or anyone's rhetoric just being empty campaign promises. Many empty campaign promises have found a way of being made into law.

Working here should not be for citizenship. Working here should be about earning money.
You started out complaining about Mexicans in our high schools and using our hospitals (as if those places belong to you or me). So, while whomever is working here, what should they do with their children? What should they do when they get sick? What if they don't live within 20 miles of Tijuanna?

So, while whomever is working here, what should they do with their children? What should they do when they get sick? What if they don't live within 20 miles of Tijuanna? What I was complaining about is that the number of children born in border towns cause higher taxes for the people living in those towns. Do you agree? Yes or No. That simple. Then I said that is the responsibility of the federal government to pay for those costs. Do you agree? Yes or No. That simple. I said that kids coming to the states in the border towns for the last couple of years of high school, not speaking English, and even out numbering the local kids affect the education those local kids are supposed to get. Do you agree? Yes or No. It is that simple. Then on the subject of immigration. You feel that the schools ought to provide teachers teaching in the language of all the students. Is that correct? Yes or No. Well let’s see. Help me out here Lausten. What if you went to work in Germany? Would you expect the school in Germany to hire English speaking teachers to educate your kids? Or Russia, Mexico, Spain, Japan, China, come on, help me out here. I am having trouble finding a country that will do what you are wanting. Now, if you are going to travel and your wife is in child. What country are you going to use for citizenship if your child is born in Germany, Russia, Mexico, Spain, Japan or China? I doubt you will even answer this question. It is too much on the topic of this discussion subject matter.

No. Burden of proof on you. You’ve already avoided my statement of how people working contribute to an economy, so I assume you don’t want to address that.
Not applicable.
No. Children don’t cause bad schools.
I didn’t say that. I would need to think about that more. But we don’t have an official language in this country, so I see no reason not to match the needs of the population.
Too many unanswered questions. Why am I in Germany? How many other English speakers are there? Have you looked at what other countries do, or are you having trouble finding what I didn’t even express an opinion about because you didn’t look?
Flying is a bad idea in the last months of pregnancy, so again, why am I doing this? I have no desire for a child to be a citizen somewhere else, so I’m not answering because I have no reason to make that choice. What are you asking or implying. You say it is “on topic", how exactly?
You are leaving out a few important aspects. Like people are having their children where they are working. And you avoided the question I asked you by trying to turn it back on me with this Gish gallop. Probably because you realized your statement was badly formed and you are trying to weasel out of it.

Having trouble comprehending and dealing with things as they actually exist, rather than as you imagine them.

Okay, we’re not going to find any common ground there.
Try this one, and I think this pretty well seals it for explaining where you are coming from.
You say the Spanish speaking Mexicans that come to Chula Vista are degrading the educational experience of the English speaking kids there because the school district has to divert funds to work with them. Applying that same logic, the Spanish speaking kids who go there have their experience degraded. I don’t agree with the logic either way FYI. Your suggestion is to NOT cater to the Spanish speaking population at all, which would further degrade their experience, again, using your logic. You have offered no reasoning for that other than “Merica”! You simply assert that the English speaking kids are more important or more deserving. Do you have any other explanation?

Bingo, you’re damn right I put our kids before the kids of any other countries. As a nation, if we can’t protect and raise our children, then we are a failed nation. School districts can only divert funds, if they have funds to divert. If no funds to divert, the teachers get no help. They are stuck in a classroom with half the class not understanding the language. On the news a couple of days ago. The City of New York has hundreds of kids that came into the city Obama opened the door. The city setup separate schools for the kids. Now the attorneys for the kids are complaining that the kids don't speak English and they think they could learn English better if they were put in the regular schools. They say, in the schools set up for them everyone speaks Spanish and they are having a harder time learning English because of that. Now, you want to cater Spanish to the kids. Well Lausten, the kids don’t want Spanish. Now are the teacher trained to speak Spanish. Or does the schools have to replace all the teachers with bi-lingual teachers? And what type of education are our kids going to get being in a class where half the time they cannot understand what is being said?
Bingo, you’re damn right I put our kids before the kids of any other countries. As a nation, if we can’t protect and raise our children, then we are a failed nation.
Exactly. You take that line between the US and Mexico that has many historical reasons, and decide because you are on this side of it, that means something about you. You are worried about failing as a nation and you're losing sight of how to succeed as a species. I don't have answers to all your questions, but I'm not going to accept the simple solutions that you are suggesting, because I can easily find historical precedence for how those have failed. Go ahead, keep picking sides and writing off people because of where they were born. Let me know how that works out for you.

You’re like a fireman who doesn’t want to put the house fire out completely because it would be unfair to the fire. And if you have any kind of moral standards you have to consider the feelings of the fire, the fire has the right to live and prosper too. And you think you got a solution by feeding the fire wood from the house to keep it alive. But overtime there is no more wood or the people who own the house don’t like feeding the fire with their house. They want a different fireman who will put out the fire. And that is what is happening today in the political world.

Well, at least we now know what we're talking about Mike. You can make up stupid analogies and tell me I'm wrong all you want, it won't make any difference. It's not like I'm alone in how I see the world. Neither are you of course, plenty of people are showing their true colors and supporting The Donald. He's already going down in flames, to continue with your analogy. I'm just glad he won't bring any more down with him, at least not any more than he already has. There's no point in me labeling you as "racist" or anything else, you've shown where you stand and it doesn't matter what you call it. You see children who don't look like you and speak another language as a problem. You've provided no data, no evidence, nothing. In fact you've made up some numbers.
