News is full of the GOP Tax Plan which is taking shape and NPR news is treating it as a foregone conclusion - trivial detail for our country.
The Republican leaders of our country stand behind the podium promising this tax will double our economy.
All that new prosperity will pay for the debt’s being incurred.
They are finally in the drivers seat and now is the time to make their dream come true, shrink our government so small that it can be stuffed down the bathtub drain. That’s what these ‘leaders’ want to do.
And Americans are making it so easy.
Jesus it’s now so so easy to see how the good liberal German nation turned into the Hitler breathing monster it evolved into during the thirties. Until utter destruction brought it to its sense. And now, now, our country is being run by leaders who don’t know about and couldn’t careless about history and it’s bitter lessons. People who are every bit as totalitarian and utterly unconcerned with humanity or the destruction they sow with such blight abandon.
On a broader level it occurs to me that no one ever addresses the “economy” itself -
as in explaining what it actually is; and why it’s ailing; and what was it about earlier robust economies that might be different these days?
What would it take to double our economy when corporations are dedicated to replacing jobs with robots as fast as possible?
I mean as an entity, what does economy consist of?
Anyone have any concise descriptions, thoughts, to offer?

One of the problems for us, and the benefit for evildoers, is the fact that the economy is such a huge and unwieldy thing. It’s a subject that anyone can lie about with a little technical expertise, which most of us don’t have. And those in Congress who don’t either, are fed talking points by those who do.
Interesting side note - In Shock Doctrine the author details how the global economic hitmen hoodwinked South Africa during it’s time of getting rid of aparteid. The moneymen realized the social context was such that the white government could no longer rule. So they gave up power BUT in such a way that only the “social” power so to speak, the figurehead aspects went to blacks. They made sure in reinventing the South African government and economy they installed economic hitmen who could daze and confuse the new “rulers” with complex legalistic and economic BS. The hitmen proceeded to create new rules that essentially guaranteed the same old wealth and power would continue to go to the same old powerbrokers.
