War Drums in the Ukraine

I don’t know how I would do that since most of it is opinion, based on an understanding of the facts.

For the sake of argument dot dot dot

Russian authorities said Sunday they had opened a murder investigation after the daughter of influential, ultra-nationalist philosopher Alexander Dugin was killed by a car bomb on the outskirts of Moscow.

Dugina’s father is a Russian author and ideologue, credited with being the architect or “spiritual guide” to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He is purported to have significant influence over Russian President Vladimir Putin and was described as “Putin’s Brain” by Foreign Affairs magazine

Darya Dugina: Car bomb kills daughter of ‘spiritual guide’ to Putin’s Ukraine invasion - Russian media | CNN

Missed target?
Warning?
False Flag?

I wouldn’t put it past Putin to sacrifice one of his own to stir up a reason to increase the conflict.

Some “Interesting” details:

“It’s her father’s car,” Krasnov told TASS. “Dasha (Darya) drives another car, but she drove his car today, and Alexander went separately,” Andrei Krasnov, head of the Russky Gorizont (Russian Horizon) social movement and a personal acquaintance of Dugina’s family, told TASS.

A Russian foreign ministry official implied that Ukrainian state structures were responsible for the explosion, a claim that Ukrainian authorities have denied.

  1. Why was she driving the car?
  2. Quick to call out Ukraine

The NRA took credit:

Ponomarev, who now lives in Ukraine, said that Dugina (aka Platonova) had called for the destruction of Ukrainians, and was a voice calling for violence and murder in the occupied territory. In particular, she gave justifications for the murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the occupied Olenivka prison camp.
“This action (the assassination of Dugina), like many other direct partisan actions carried out on the territory of Russia in recent months, was carried out by the National Republican Army (NRA),” said Ponomarev.

“We declare President Putin a usurper of power and a war criminal who amended the Constitution, unleashed a fratricidal war between the Slavic peoples and sent Russian soldiers to certain and senseless death,” states the NRA manifesto. “Poverty and coffins for some, palaces for others. This is the essence of his policy.”

Interesting:
In Russian NRA = National Republican Army
In the US NRA = National Rifle Association … but the Russian term practically fits too.

I think Ukraine should target a border facility inside Russia and warn Russia to stop targeting Ukrainian civilians or Ukraine will start bombing Russian civilians in Russia.

Let’s see how the Russian people will react when they start dying in a war Russia started.

Ukraine Tries To Prevent IAEA Inspection Of The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Updated below (11:30 UTC)

Over night the Ukrainian military, from positions in Vyshetarasovka, Nikopol and Marganets, again shelled the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant on the south side of the Kakhovka Dnieper reservoir.

This was fallowed by an early morning attempt by Ukrainian forces to land a sabotage group near the village north east of the ZNPP. Some seven boats, two self-motorized barges and some 60 soldiers were involved in the suicidal mission.

The paramilitary Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya) which protects the plant immediately detected the insertion and attacked it. The Russian army send Ka-52 attack helicopters to help destroy the Ukrainian force. The two barges were sunk.

As the little town where the troops landed is outside of power plant there is no danger to the reactors.

An inspector team under IAEA director Rafael Grossi is on its way to the ZNPP.

U.N. nuclear safety officials who are heading to Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia power plant are facing intense shelling but will continue to travel to the facility, the team’s leader said Thursday.

“There has been increased military activity, including this morning — until very recently, a few minutes ago,” Rafael Mariano Grossi, the director general of the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said Thursday morning. But he added defiantly: “Having come so far, we are not stopping. We are moving now,” despite the fact “the risks are very very high.”

Grossi concluded his press statement by saying: “Wish us luck, we are moving now … It’s very important that the world knows what’s happening here.”

The IAEA inspectors are expected to cross the frontline between Ukrainian-held land and Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory and reach the nuclear power, Europe’s largest, later on Thursday. The U.N. inspectors will continue to advance, despite the fact intense shelling has been reported by both Ukraine and Russia around Zaporizhzhia, amid fears the risks of a nuclear accident are increasing.

Update 1:

Dima of the Military Summary Channel thinks (vid) that the Ukrainian saboteur group was tasked with laying low until the inspectors arrive. It would then take over the plant and prevent the IAEA inspectors from leaving. They would then be hostages at the plant which would guarantee that the Russian side would be unable to retake the site.

If that really was the plan it was one of the craziest I ever heard off. Then again - the Ukrainian Zelenski regime is crazy and he and his advisors are former movie producers who are trained to come up with such plots.

You consider “Moon of Alabama” a reliable source?

While another of Putin’s critics “commits suicide” by jumping from a 6th story hospital window.

Not seen much about this (Ukrainian assassinations)

This MP, apparently the SIXTH Ukrainian, accused of “collaboration” that has been assassinated by…someone…just can’t quite work out who it would be.

Normally, I take Tweets with a grain of salt, but this is a serious accusation that needs more investigation. However, knowing Putin, he’s probably behind it somewhere.

May be not !

[Former Ukrainian Lawmaker Who Became Russia-Appointed Official In Kherson Region Found Dead]

Honestly, the killing of traitors during war is not unknown. I am against death penalty but, in this case it is an act of war.

I don’t know much about Radio Free Europe, but I’ve not heard anything bad about it either. Like I said, I wouldn’t put it past Putin to be behind this.

The kherson counter offensive has failed.

The Kherson offensive started on August 30 on five axes. It was destined to fail. Three of these attempts to gain ground held by Russian troops failed. One axis was stopped after taking a few small villages of no strategic value. The only ‘successful’ attack was across the Inhulet river near Andriivka in the direction of the dam and river crossing that closes off the Kakhovka Dnieper reservoir.

@ottozuts100 Moon of Alabama is not a reliable source. It’s a propaganda machine.

Berletic: “Kherson Offensive” Downgraded to “Slow Grind” - Russian Ops in Ukraine, Sept. 04, 2022

Here is a summary

  • Ukrainian “Kherson Offensive” is resulting in massive casualties for Ukraine
    with negligible territorial gains, some of which have already been reversed;
  • Western media continues to spin the ongoing fighting in southern Ukraine
    attempting to explain why it is not materializing in gains;
  • Claims that Ukraine is pursuing a “slow grind” strategy in Kherson is an
    admission that fighting has returned to the pre-“offensive” stand-off;
  • Ukraine has clearly committed what is left of its best men and equipment to
    the fight;

@ottozuts100
Rather than continually posting Russian propaganda, what do YOU think about the invasion?
Approve or Disapprove?

If you have already stated your opinion, I’m sorry, I missed it.
