Ukraine

You got me to concede that NATO (america) encroachment was one of the root causes of the war . Good job Morgan . Meanwhile negotiations to recommence june 2

For Russia to win decisively and to then reincorporate Ukraine, it will have to do away with the oligarchic capitalist model established in the 1990s and return to Stalinism.

But Putin was installed in power precisely in order to preserve that model and make sure the communists never returned, and if there is one consistent theme in his rule, to which everything has been sacrificed, including the fundamental security of the state, it is that commitment.

The Russian oligarchy absolutely does not want to hear about wartime mobilization and then having to pay for the restoration of all of Ukraine. Much of it also dreams of restoring relationships with the West.

Thus negotiations with the very same people bombing the country right when those negotiations are happening…

I fully disagree.

Oligarchy is an authoritarian variant of Capitalism. Imperialism is one of its tool.

Putin came to power not to prevent the restauration of communism, but the instauration of a functionnal democracy !!!

When Ukraine took the path of democracy, it had to be broken. If it not be, it wiuld have shown to the Russian people that democracy is possible in Russia.

Nationalistic and imperialist ideologies have their reasons, even if not compatible with economy.

And Ukraine is a rich country, ready to be exploited by oligarchs.

Yes broken in 2014. Now if zel stiffs up the Istanbul negotions they will lose odessa

Meanwhile Klitschko & Zelensky are at war. Who will be eliminated ?

In a Le Monde interview, according to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has said that
former US President Joe Biden during his time in office wanted to see Russia *“destroyed”

Is this supposed to convince me that it’s okay for Russia to attack it’s neighbors?

I have checked the source.
Lula has said that.

But he said also

" Brazil condemned Russia’s violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity from the outset. Brazil has been defending peace for three years! I told Vladimir Putin it was time to end the war, and I advised him to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky in Istanbul [on May 16]. And I regret that he didn’t go.

I believe this war should never have taken place. The misstep was taken by Putin when he decided to invade Ukraine. This is clear, and we have always maintained it: no country has the right to invade another’s territory, especially when there are still opportunities for negotiation.

But the West also bears some responsibility. Joe Biden, with whom I spoke at length about this, believed that Russia had to be destroyed. And Europe, which has long embodied a middle path in the world, has aligned itself with Washington and is now spending billions on its rearmament. This worries me. If we only talk about war, there will never be peace.

Brazil is ready to support negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Along with China and 11 other developing countries, we proposed a peace plan in 2024. After three years of war, no one has anything to gain from continuing the conflict. Putin knows he won’t get everything, and so does Zelensky. Let’s sit down and talk. Enough bombs, enough death, enough destruction."

Your data does not support your conclusion.
