I believed this when I was in 6th grade. I think I spelled “majority” correctly at the time though. Besides the obvious minority candidates winning and gerrymandering to create a fake majority in the House, this doesn’t work. You can poll on good ideas, but people vote for the one who says they will fix the “immigration problem” despite not knowing what the problem is or what a good solution is. That, or one or two other hot, emotional issues, not something complicated, like taxes. You are discounting the power of rhetoric, lies, the blitz of commercials, and fear-mongering. People with money know how those things work.

Trump was not elected President by a majority of the popular vote.
He was elected by the “electoral college” even as he received 3 million less votes than Hillary Clinton.

I believed in 4th grade that representative democracy meant representing the people.
In 5th grade I learned that a majority vote is not a mandate. That a President governs the whole country and representatives represent their whole district. In high school I learned the minority has a duty to keep the majority in check. In college I learned about the tyranny of the majority.

Calling Trump a fascist may be true, but not very efficient. Abortion will not be enough to convince voters.

This election will be quite the acid test for America - Kamala and we keep muddling along, or Trump and we a go straight to hel…, er, … utter legal chaos and the free reign of sociopathic extremist billionaires and their minions, and of course, playing right into Putin’s grand plan.
Thank’s to Colorado’s awesome system, I, like all registered voters, received my ballot in the mail,. Meaning I managed to cast my vote for Kamala, and the rest of the Democratic slate a week ago. I voted for her because trying to reestablish some political civility and reasserting our Democratic pluralist origins seems a pretty high priority to me.
Oh and she also has a respect for facts outside of herself, while the Donald lives in his own bubble-mind laser focused on salving his tender ego.

I’ve been staying away from them polls, and those graphs are downright disgusting, and people wonder why I call us a frivolous thoughtless people.
I’m supposed to act like trump is something normal because apparently half the country thinks so. Truly horrifying and that is also why I’m totally dedicated to the one day at a time attitude, because this balloon is getting stretch to the max, and I have absolutely no faith in the future where so much malicious self-destructive nonsense is glorified.
So pretty soon we can start holding our collective breath until we wake up November 6th. If Democrats don’t stun those pollsters and knock it out of the park, it’s going to be . . . .

I still say he bought the electoral college. I fear he may pull that stunt again in order to beat Kamala. Which means, he’s the one cheating and committing fraud. That and Kamala must win by a landslide to keep him from cheating. However, at most she might beat him by a few points.
The polls I saw today, said Kamala ahead in four key states and the orange menace three. This is why you cannot trust or even rely on these polls. They really don’t actually predict anything. People really should ignore them and pay attention to the news on election day.
As for the ballots set on fire, I’m wondering what will happen with all those votes. I mean did all those people lose their vote or is there any way for them to do something about it?
Those polls don’t predict anything nor do they mean anything. You really cannot rely on them.

For Trump and his supporters, the issue is simple:
- He wins, everything is fine,
- He loses, his election has been stolen and he will take the power.
