Younger guys aren’t trying to avoid women they just haven’t learned how to interact with them. This age group came of age when online porn became widely available and social media replaced the old ways of teens interacting with each other. They’re socially (and physically) maladjusted. As for women — they always follow the lead of men. When young guys started turning into incel porn addicts, young women responded by turning into obese, blue haired, depressed SJWs who police social media for wrongthink.

They have even more problems than the guys.

I the RW it most definitely is. Being aroused by porn is a perfect example of "empathic response". The brain's ability to place itself in the shoes of the observed participants or becoming aroused by mere observation of physical patterns and stimulating pheromones..... :)

This is separate from the empathic experience of love. This is a hardwired survival response to procreate. The brain only reponds to external stimuli by making a “best guess” and predicting itself into existence. Sexual arousal is part of this process and is very much responsive to visual and pheromonic attraction.

All the beauty in natural patterns of biological organisms are designed to stimulate procreative reactions in both the male and female of the species.

I suppose if I had had porn at my fingertips, it could have changed my development so that I gave up on relating to females. And I consider myself to have been socially delayed, anyway, due to having been constantly raised in the Southern Baptist religion. Instead of porn, which was not available in my adolescent days, I searched for pictures of women in catalogs wearing revealing clothing or under garments. Perhaps that was not intense enough to make me completely socially maladjusted.

I have often wondered about how freaky porn must be for adolescents. I always assumed that it must be too intense for them. But then, the little bit of contact with adolescents (kids of friends), that I have had, they seemed fine. (Still, I don’t suppose all kids get into porn. But I know I would have.) Of course you can’t tell what’s going on inside their heads from such brief interactions.

Is it religion or a feeling of guilt? Psychological conflict is a murky topic. Therapists in New York make tons of money getting people to deal with shame and scorn. They teach you how not to live by other people’s rules.

It’s the hell you get in this life, being haunted by your conscience. Blaming religion is a cop out, a refusal to take responsibility. Why do you see it as “playing with your privates”? Self-flagellation is a form of penance. You are trapped in a moral matrix that you hate, so to speak.

Okay, and what does that have to do with suppressing sexuality for a “higher” goal.
The higher you are on the totem pole, the less you need to suppress your impulses. And if you are top of the heap, there are no rules to live by. Your higher goal is instant gratification and damn the conscience.
NO. You are talking about mundane “goals” – when someone uses the term “Higher goals” that usual refers to something beyond material economics pragmatism.
Like I said, every person’s higher goal is different. Let’s wait for @snowcity to reveal his higher goal so we can nail him.
It’s like by the time I turned twenty, I’d pretty much buried the Bible as any genuine guide to finding god, but I didn’t give on god and the bible it did offer some valid lasting hints, such as “Seek and Ye Shall Find” and “God is Beyond all Human Understanding.” So part of my vagabonding was all about mediating on the big questions and finding people to discuss it with.
The Bible is like a treasure map. Don’t give up on the map just because you can't find the treasure. Each person studies the map a different way. Atheists view it upside down.

You're blowing it out the back end, you haven't a clue about me, despite all my effort to clarify - all you want is what fit's into your limited imagination.

Oh and why the guilt? GOD HATES IT AND WILL SEND YOU TO EVER LASTING HELL - does a pretty good job of encouraging guilt in the innocent.

Remember every religious parent and teacher has that to batter their kids with - we love you, we don’t want you burning in everlasting hell dear boy.

The same “love” that would make a dad demand that his kid spend a hot afternoon suffocating to death on a Cross, so that his vanity could be satisfied.

Sure in your twisted head maybe, but certainly not in my mind or conscience. Who said anything about instant gratification - You've left me thinking perhaps you have no conception about what it means to make love WITH a woman - to be sensitive to her wants and desires and to put her pleasure above one's own. To let her lead and teach, can you imagine such a thing!? Oh but please don't misunderstand it's not all sacrifice because the rewards of inhabiting that sort of loving partnership are AMAZING. They even last long after the moment itself passes - it can even bind folks together long after they've gone on to separate distant lives.

 

As for all this guilt you want me to be mired in - Remember I’m 64, my passionate battles with God and my soul are a half lifetime behind me. Things have settled down into a simple solidity most don’t possess. , Which yes, includes no guilt, since I have striven to be respectful and positive to the people who have entered and left my life. I’ve faced my sins and burned on a cross of my own making. So I have experienced by facing my own failings and matriculating to a higher state of awareness, of my and the human condition, that comes from surviving the trial by fire. Then we go on living our day by days.

When I listen to you and that need to twist every one you don’t like or understand into your twisted nasty preconceptions, as if that’s all their is under the sun - not in your last breath could you imagine me (or others) being an honorable person and deserving some credit, nah, you just need villains populating your world, is that it???

It’s a collection of insightful stories - written by people trying to get control over other people.

You can get insightful reading from the I Ching and no-one needs to claim that came from God.

What makes you believe you can speak with authority about something encompassing billions of years and countless lifeforms and events?

Personally it sounds like nonsense. EVERY… LAST…WORD. I don’t know where this war against sexuality came in, why people view it as base or something like that and why one must rise above it. Personally I like it, I enjoy it, I don’t feel the need to do whatever ho hah they describe for effects that I doubt are anything more than a placebo. I mean if you are jacking it every day then that may be something to look into as there is usually a deeper issue there.

If Write4U were here, I imagine he would bring up the bonobos. Their culture is full of open sexuality. They do ok. They are the most peaceful of primates.

The sex drive is among the most powerful of motivators. So there will always be some humans who will try to establish their rules about it, so as to control that power.

I'm guessing the people who promote the idea that sexual energy can be transformed into something more important have difficulty with sex already and its just a way for them to deal with the issue.

I wasn't a medic in the military. My "diagnosis" of this problem comes from interacting with younger millennials who can't figure out whats going on, and comparing it to my own age groups ability to avoid most of this garbage.
