The idea of no fap originates from certain spiritual practices, where release of sexual energy is detrimental to meditation and attaining higher levels of consciousness. But, what's really happening in those spiritual practices is that people learn how to transmute and transform the energy of their sexual desire, not to repress it. Sexual desire is the most powerful urge, period. Sounds like you learnt the hard way exactly what happens when we try to coerce ourselves like this. Sorry you had to go through that. Similar patterns can be seen in other areas of life, for example when people starve themselves and call it 'dieting', only to absolutely binge further down the line. It seems like moderation and healthy balance is the key for anyone wanting to limit sexual release to improve their focus and drive etc.It's just an example but I kind of want to know where we went from sexuality being a normal aspect of the human experience to being something to either transcend, suppress, or transmute. It's also similar to how I wonder why homosexuality became demonized when there isn't ANYTHING wrong with it. It just boggles my mind to be honest.

I think “NoFap” stems from Millennial guys trying to move away from online porn because they’re realizing they’ve never learned how intimacy works with other people. It’s a worthwhile goal to delay gratification for some bigger reward later on – like having an actual sex partner.

When I was in my twenties and thirties, I’ll admit a lot of my goals had to do with getting to know woman and if intimately so much the better, but certainly not mandatory. Of course, there was also traveling, work, adventures to sniffed out, or ride out, as the case might be. It’s not all fun and games.
Learning skills that will help me survive.
Trying to figure out myself and make sense of the world around me and its lack of values, the confusion and conflicts and turmoil and fears within.

I just came inside for a moment because I realized a left out the ‘getting to know God’, regarding my “higher goals” during those twenties and thirties years.
It’s like by the time I turned twenty, I’d pretty much buried the Bible as any genuine guide to finding god, but I didn’t give on god and the bible it did offer some valid lasting hints, such as “Seek and Ye Shall Find” and “God is Beyond all Human Understanding.” So part of my vagabonding was all about mediating on the big questions and finding people to discuss it with.
It’s been a wonderful and enlightening experience, those days of my life.

Hey what about sex robots? They have some now, but they’re too expensive and not physiologically as capable as I would like. But they do have them with AI which is nice.
