It’s a Christian rock band, the lead is talking before a song. He talks about how we are divided. The words are the same as any Liberal might say. Then he does that “we’re a Republic in the name of God, not a democracy” garbage at the end.
Creed a Gen X music group? I had no idea. Seriously, but then again, I’m one of the oldest Gen X’ers. I’m not quite a Boomer, but not quite a Gen X’er even though I’m one of the oldest Gen X’ers (A Joneser). Now if the influencer was Sylvester or Donna Summer or Diana Ross or Barbra Streisand or Fleetwood Mac or Heart… then maybe I’d agree, but Creed? I doubt it.
He says we’re not a democracy. He says, instead we’re a Republic. The two things are not mutually exclusive. What’s the agenda? Kind of exposes the desire to end democracy.
And all the people who want this to be a Christian based authoritarian country.
It’s not the reason I linked it. I linked it because he spends the first two minutes talking about how there are forces trying to divide us. That’s something the Left and Right agree on. The division begins when we start talking about what to do about it.
R.E.M. was more Gen X, I think, but I’m not a fan of them either. However, I must say, my husband and his brother are more Gen X than I am. Because I’m on the line of Boomer and Gen X I have more in common with the younger Boomers. I can agree with you that Creed is more of a Xennial thing. Maybe BOC (Blue Oyster Cult), BTO (Bachman Turner Overdrive), Santana, The Doors, The Who, Nirvana, KISS… only to name a few, I see as Rock Groups of Gen X, but then look at the overlap. I think this is what differentiates between older Gen X and younger Gen X.
Well Xians are going to listen to groups like Judas (I forget the second part of the name, but it wasn’t Priest) Debbie Boone (who’s become more secular music or at least she tried), and others.
