I clarified. I apologized. I don’t know what i would retract.
I will take it as a retraction. Moving on.
Putin only wants Ukraine so he has a land bridge to Georgia, which occupied a few years ago. If Putin invade Serbia, which I also seem to remember he did, it’s only because he’s not satisfied and wants to invade more and more countries, such as Ukraine. He won’t stop with Ukraine.
What is a land bridge? Bridge possibly to Transnistria but not Georgia . Georgia has large common border with Russia.
Can you give me the year you say Putin invaded Serbia?
I posted an entire article on that. You are being argumentative. Discuss facts.
Consider this a warning
Interesting article, but Lausten guess you’re in a “horse, there’s the water, but you gotta drink it.” situation
Some spicy tidbits, might evoke a little curiosity.
To make matters even worse, when President Clinton phoned Russian President Boris Yeltsin to raise his concerns about the move, Yeltsin was rambling, repetitive, and almost incoherent (but don’t call him a drunkard). He said again and again that he and Clinton, with no others present, should meet on “a boat, a submarine, or some island so that not a single person will disturb us … No one else can do it.” …
And thanks to the help of Ukrainian and Hungarian delays, the Russians did not get timely overflight approval, so they were unable to reinforce their positions, and the small Russian contingent was largely marginalized at the airfield until a deal was struck for their participation in the broader peacekeeping mission. The situation did not explode. …
As Putin argued to Talbott in Moscow to justify the showdown over the airfield several days later, the damage to U.S.-Russian relations was “far less than what NATO had done to President Yeltsin’s prestige.” And prestige means a great deal to Vladimir Putin. His entire career up to that point had been built on backlash against the demise of the Soviet Union, the stumbles of economic and political reforms under Yeltsin, and the sense that Moscow had slipped to become a second-rate power.
Yes a joint NATO Russia peacekeeping operation in 1999 hardly a putin moving into serbia scenario back then and not today or any other time. From bosnia to Pristina airport under Yeltsin.

You said you were going to move on. That would be a good idea
He won’t, he is a “hook operator” and he’s got a hook into a victim.
He’ll play the line until he is forcefully stopped.
The documents and cables showing US promising NATO expansion will not be even one inch to the East
We know. Are you saying we should let Putin take over Ukraine because of something that was said to Gorbachev 30 years ago?
We ? Should? Who said anything about taking over ukraine? The Pope is right
Putin. Putin said it. With his actions. Are you saying he is not interested in deposing the current Ukrainian government?
Added: By “We” I meant the industrialized democracies of the world capable of defending each other. I wish the world was different, but I’m not going to let authoritarians take over.
The Pope is never right about anything. You can’t take the word of a religious zealot on anything.
Western ukraine virtually untouched. Regime change in Russia is USA aim and wet dream
Never ever?
They got the suburbs of the capital! Your evidence is that they don’t have tanks blanketing the entire country?
There aren’t defenders of trickle-down economics in this thread. You are just arguing with no one now. You are just arguing to argue.
Capitalism needs to go, period. We need a different system entirely. One in which the 1% can’t grab almost everything. However, that is diverting from the original topic.
