We, mankind, live in a world of things fashioned by the human consciousness and perceive them in terms of varied cultural experiences. As such, things that are real to you may not be real to others. On political matters today, each side see the other as completely delusional and thoroughly immoral.

And their injuries are much preferable to the conflagration of hostilities that we barely escaped. Sree, I’ve been calling Republicans Repugs before I could even vote in an election. I was a Dem before I could vote, even though the rest of my family voted Repug. Reaganomics was a disaster for this country and Nixon before that wasn’t good for this country. However, FDR (a Dem) did a lot a good, as did Kennedy and LBJ, among other Dems. So while Repugs tried to destroy the U.S. Dems were trying to undo what the Repugs did and make the U.S. better with programs like Social Security for example. Currently the DOTUS is attempting to take Social Security away from us. We paid into that program and if they are going to end the program then they’d better give us back our money instead of putting it towards their stupid wars.
In Letters to an American, historian Heather Cox Richardson explained what you said in terms of Movement Conservatism’s agenda to undermine the Liberal Consensus program to provide a social safety net for all Americans. This is a bigger issue than just Reagan and Trump and has been going on for decades.

TimB I’ve deduce it’s a virus that is spread by dotard supporters spewing the dotard’s lies. It’s not all their fault, because they became infected by his lies.
It truly does seem in some ways like a virus. (That would be something, were it to eventually be found that there is an actual virus that is causing it.) But, until then, I suppose I will have to conceptualize it as a sort of social virus. It also manifests with the people who are taken in to his inner circle. For example, just about everyone who has been in the proximity of T rump power in the White House, for longer than Scaramouchi. They turn from being seemingly everyday hangers on, to Purely Loyal Trumpian Drones, willing to lie, and cover up, and collude, etc. as needed by the T rump.
