What a terrible thought russia and ukraine reach a peace deal as neighbouring countries. Rage quit would not be out of the question.
No one here said a peace deal would be bad. But it has to be actual peace, not a surrender to Putin that would make life for Ukranians over a longer term.
What would be wrong with that? As long as Putin doesn’t force the Ukrainians to surrender and allows them to keep their country, separate from Russia, then that would be a real peace deal. The Ukrainian land does not belong to Russia. Prussia didn’t belong to Russia either and today nor does any other bordering country. This is not 1940 where Russia forcefully gobbles up other countries, claiming them as its own and eventually hiding them behind an iron curtain. And it cannot bang a shoe on the table and threaten bury anyone either (1970s). Russia’s iron fist fell around 1991 or shortly there after. It doesn’t need another iron fist or iron curtain. Russia’s leader is more criminal anymore than anything else and here lately, Putin has me thinking my grandfather was right. He often said, “We should have went after Russia after bombing Japan.” Stalin would probably be proud of Russia, which is not a good thing either.
In other words, Russia does not look good to the rest of the world and the only way it can save face is to stop attempting to claim Ukraine, and any other country, as its own and stop killing people. If Russia does take over Ukraine I bet Putin won’t stop, any more than Stalin stopped. Putin has Georgia and now wants Ukraine to have a land bridge to the sea. Putin just keeps on, just like Stalin and I seriously do not believe he will stop anymore than Stalin did, if the world does not stop him now. Very few countries, if any, likes Russia right now.

The entire f’n war is horrifically significant - even most of have been able to put it out of our minds. I mean how much horror is a human supposed to be able to absorb and process while retaining a shred of humanity???

Truth being most russians support the war effort and in fact are crtitical of the russian govt in that they want the war ended with the army going in much harder to finish ukraine off

A poll result would count as evidence, but it depends who did it. Russia doesnt allow polsters from outside the country, AFAIK.
