It’s a little embarassing to see so little discussion on this “politics” board, so in the interest of CFI’s dignity I’ll share another election story from a guy in the know, Neal Katyal.
It’s pretty scary, which is what American’s ought to be, considering what the trump has done to bring out the worst in American hatred, zenophobia, bigotry and the embrace of willful ignorance, threats and billigerence, in order to force their new world order upon us.
Neal thinks the coming election will be close and if that is the case, America is heading toward a nightmare that will make the first round with the trumpkin seem like kid’s play.

I spoke to my friend Neal Katyal, who teaches constitutional law at Georgetown University, about the terrifying efforts Donald Trump is already putting forth to take away votes in the 2024 election. Neal explains why the house and senate may end up deciding who the next president is, not you and me.
The bottomline is that every freak’n vote is needed, because American the land of the free and home of the brave, truly is under an existential attack - and the only thing to stop the trump/JD Vance-billionaire hostil takeover bid upon our government - is to have an electoral landslide, with even Georgia, Florida jumping on the Save Democracy bandwagon.
There aren’t a lot of participants here in any section, but yes this election is the scariest I have seen. I voted this morning in NC. Today is our first early voting day and the line was the longest I’ve seen. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. Hopefully people are voting to keep a dictator out. I did.
That’s what scares me. If Kamala wins, which I hope she does, because it means freedom for everyone, the orange menace and his cronies could refuse to accept her win and even block it. The orange menace, his cronies, and his minions could refuse a peaceful transition. Anything could happen with that criminal who’s been convicted with 34 felony counts of crime and should be in prison right now, not running for president, but he’s been dodging the law at every turn. If he wins, this country is doomed to Fascism. Women, LGBTQ, the poor, and minorities will have no rights. Death will soar starting with woman, which is already happening. If he wins, I’ll be the first to denounce my citizenship, even though I was born here to parents who were born here etc. etc clear back to the Pilgrims on one side. I will refuse to show even my birth certificate to anyone who asks and if I must, I’ll be like Einstein- a person without a country until I find someone who accepts me. BTW, I don’t have a passport and never had a passport. I don’t even have a lame ID with a yellow star, just a regular ID so I can go to work, so I can’t even get into a Federal Building or fly now. (Not that I want to fly. Did it once, not doing it ever again, unless I’m unconscious needing to be transported to the nearest hospital.) I wonder where I’ll be deported to, as an honest U.S. citizen who denies their citizenship, if I refuse to show even my birth certificate or drivers license or admit my social security number?
Well considering trump wants us to elect him the dictator of America, yeah this election is about as important as can be.
Or can you think of another example in American history where we had an such an unbalance traitor so close to the Oval Office?
IMHO Any time we have an unAmerican vandal boostered by a small group of billionaires (for their own interest sake) who have been busy brainwashing our nation on a diet of hatred and lies, we are in deep trouble and only the voters have a chance to turn it around.
