Kelly Macias has some questions for us white folks.

Quite an interesting read. Lots of truth in. Winning by a sliver is nothing to take comfort in.

Black voters delivered for Doug Jones. But stop thanking us—and start asking why whites didn't. By Kelly Macias | Dec 13, 2017 | DailyKos.com https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/12/13/1723964/-Black-voters-delivered-for-Doug-Jones-But-stop-thanking-us-and-start-asking-why-whites-didn-t But more importantly, this is a time for folks to ask: If black women and men are so routinely thinking about improving conditions for themselves and their families, why aren’t white people? In 2016 and this year in both Virginia and Alabama, white people overwhelmingly voted Republican—even when the candidates were despicable and vile. So much so that being a sexual predator meant almost nothing when casting a vote for Donald Trump or Roy Moore. They were all in. So instead of the hyper-focus on black folks saving the country, perhaps we should really be asking why, especially after this last year, white folks still insist on destroying it? ... But while we are talking about how black voters (especially black women) have saved the day in Alabama and consistently show up and save everyone, let’s also acknowledge that this routine expectation and demand of our labor is toxic. It continues to absolve white people (as a whole) from voting the right way and from doing the hard work of organizing other white people at a time when it is most needed.
Daily Kos contributing editor Denise Oliver Velez: it’s time for Democrats to wake up and smell the black coffee]. If you think black people are gonna sit on their hands and ignore Roy Moore lauding slavery, that we have forgotten Selma and Birmingham and those four black girls [killed in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in 1963], and the daily racism we live with just trying to go about our business and live our lives—think again. Wake up and smell the black coffee, folks. In spite of concerted and ongoing efforts by white people to suppress and disenfranchise the black vote—not just in Alabama—we continue to be the most dependable Democratic Party voting block. Period. Especially black women, though our brothers are far more often disallowed from voting due to having a record or being incarcerated.

This dumbass Kelly Macias succeeds in adding a new level of inanity to a publication already drowning in inanity. Daily Kos leads in stupidity as usual.
On second thought however, the goal might not be intelligent commentary but simply clicks from self-flagellating whites – aka liberals. Daily Kos might lead there as well.

Oh gosh Beltane before complaining about the quality of other's commentary why don't you up your own game. Put away the pea shooter and discuss specifically what she wrote that seems to have upset you.

She misses the point. It’s not that white people aren’t delivering, it’s that white CHRISTIANS, especially Evangelicals, are being exposed for what they are - unJesus-like, and immoral, and un-American. If they were like Jesus in any way, had a scrap of morality in them, and actually cared about Americans, it wouldn’t matter how many minorities showed up at the polls.

That makes sense. Pretty touchy subject to bring up, I could see her being well aware of that, but not yet willing to go there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think she was focused on trying to make them liberal thinking Democrats wake up and realize it's their fight too and they been way the f... too lazy these past decades. But liberals are as touch and defensive and thin sinked as them religiously right-wingers - caution in attempting to communicate with them is key.

The point is simply to emotionally manipulate guilty white liberals.

Why should white liberals have to feel guilty, they advocate inclusiveness. They are not the problem.

Too bad they don't get out and vote.

Too bad they don't get out and vote. They are busy working 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet at slave wages.

Conservatives don't blame themselves for mistakes they didn't make. Right they put all the blame of their mistakes on the Liberals, how convenient. Have you seen the new tax law, you would call that a Liberal mistake? Mark my words, they'll find a way to blame the liberals for this abomination. The Conservatives have just changed a Democracy to a Plutocracy. Instead of having a massive infrastructiure repair, they voted themselves a tax cut, with the promise that this will create jobs, but will increase the national debt by some 1.4 Trillion dollars. Well, promises are seldom kept Ask your Conservative millionaire friends if they are going to hire additional labor, when they can already afford to hire anyone they want, while taking healthcare away from 13 million poor working families. SS and Medicare comes next. Wake up man!

Well? They have also demonstrated themselves to be incapable of recognizing, admitting to, assessing, and/or learning from the gross mistakes they do make. So what's your point? Seems to me what you're acknowledging is that, conservative don't give a hoot for anything beyond their backyard?

Speaking of waking up. Here's where what investments there are will go to,
U.S. investors see more automation, not jobs, under Trump administration David Randall - REUTERS BUSINESS NEWS - JANUARY 18, 2017 https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-funds-automation/u-s-investors-see-more-automation-not-jobs-under-trump-administration-idUSKBN1530JW NEW YORK (Reuters) - When U.S. President-elect Donald Trump criticized United Technologies Corp’s (UTX.N) Carrier unit in November for its plan to move some 800 jobs to Mexico, the parent-company made a swift decision to keep the factory in Indiana. Yet, the move did not translate into saving jobs. Instead, the company decided it would move toward automation as a way to cut costs. “We’re going to make up [the] $16 million investment in that factory in Indianapolis to automate, to drive the cost down so that we can continue to be competitive," chief executive Greg Hayes said on CNBC last month. “What that ultimately means is there will be fewer jobs." Swapping robots and software for human labor has underpinned much of the productivity gains in the United States over the last 25 years. ...
