How Republicans recount ballots in Arizona. Putin must be proud!

But for Yeltsin, there would be no oligarchs. Yeltsin made Russia into a neo liberial wet dream . Yeltsin called in the Chigaco Boys to privatise public assets into the hands of these crooks. A true american lackey.

@sabolina

How would you know how Russian oligarchs are doing?

What do you know?

As in, any substance or evidence. Or must we make do with your hot air?

For those who don't have patience for sabolina's nose picking, here's some background info.
END of the COLD WAR and the SOVIET UNION (9 of 9) - Transition to a Market Economy. ~ By Frank E. Smitha.

Boris Yeltsin was elected President of Russia in June, 1991 – the first direct presidential election in Russian history. In October, Yeltsin announced that Russia would proceed with market-oriented reforms. From Russia’s parliament, Yeltsin received one year of special powers for the purpose of remaking Russia’s economy. Members of parliament felt close to Yeltsin, remembering his having stood atop a tank in Moscow. …

They were admirers of the US economist Milton Friedman and referred to in Moscow as the “Chicago Boys.” …

… In his book, Superpower Illusions, the US ambassador to the Soviet Union, Jack Matlock, writes that shock therapy “ignored the fact that there was no legitimate capital in the country” – in other words, holders of investments in wealth. Matlock describes the result: “Communist Party officials, senior military and KGB officer, and other privileged insiders join the criminals who had been running a black market steal what they could, as fast as they could.” (Matlock, p. 111)

The Soviet Union was sailing into free enterprise without people who had a lot of experience with decision-making in a free market economy. Almost no Soviet employees or managers had such experience. Also, laws that fit a free enterprise system were not in place. It was to be described as like building a house with no plumbing. …

So do you have anything interesting to add. Such a the mutual guilt of all who expect endless growth and who believe in too much is never enough. It's not just the one percent, what all the workers who couldn't care less about their product, trying to get away with the most profits for the least effort has become job one for all too many. Seems too me the horror of ME FIRST has infused all, and the ugly American may have been a leader, but we were only copying European colonial ethics and supersizing them.

And the dog never catches his tail.

Wonderful.

Not for the oligarchs!

Lets bring this back to the point of this thread - trump’s totalitarian inspired attack intended to delegitimize all future elections in the minds of the one third of Americans who have become conspiracy delusionals after decades of strategic brainwashing. Hooah, Me First, I got my God in my back pocket, and nothing else matters.

'No legitimate reason' for Arizona audit: Maricopa County's GOP recorder

https://www.wsjm.com/2021/05/25/no-legitimate-reason-for-arizona-audit-maricopa-countys-gop-recorder/

ABC News, May 25, 2021
(WASHINGTON) — Arizona’s partisan audit of Maricopa County’s 2.1 million ballots restarted on Monday, as county officials seek litigation over ballot handling and potential defamation.

Stephen Richer, the Republican recorder in charge of administering Maricopa County’s elections, has started speaking out against the process, and said Monday on ABC News Live’s “The Breakdown,” that there was no “legitimate reason that would have prompted this audit.”

“It’s happening, not because the evidence merits it,” Richer told ABC News Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran. “All the tests came back clean. The parties themselves oversaw the hand-count auditing of 47,000 plus votes.”

Richer told Moran he takes issue with the fact that Cyber Ninjas, a Florida-based cybersecurity company with no experience in auditing elections, was the firm the Senate chose after it used its subpoena power to compel election machines and ballots.

“And the frustrating bit is that some professional, legitimate companies did make bids to the Arizona Senate to do this work and we would have welcomed that,” he said.

Richer, who was elected in November, began voicing concerns about the audit after officials falsely claimed on Twitter that Maricopa County deleted voter files before surrendering ballots and voting machines to the Senate. The lie that the county deleted those files then spread across the internet, even drawing attention from former President Donald Trump, who lost Arizona by just over 10,000 votes in November.

“This is where this crossed the line for me,” he told ABC News Monday. “I wanted to stay out of this, but when the good workers of Maricopa County — who are my friends, my teammates, my staff — are accused of unlawfully destroying evidence under my watch, then I had to say something.” …

Talk about how the time flies and the faux recount still ain’t finished.

But, we are assured they are getting closer. Now if only they can find a lawyer who can read braille.

Guess that was something else the tRUMP operatives don’t know anything about, until it hit them in the face. Go figure, 50,000 braille ballots. Who’da known? I sure didn’t. Well, I’ll bet you, real election professionals knew about it, but then today’s GOP has a hate hard-on for real experts, so guess no one was listening to them on that one either.

Arizona auditors near finish of hand recount as out-of-state tRUMP GOP pilgrimages continue By Eric Bradner, Kyung Lah and Sara Murray, CNN

Updated 9:52 PM ET, Mon June 14, 2021

… Arizona’s so-called audit of the 2020 election results of Maricopa County, the home of Phoenix, has been plagued by problems.

The audit is being conducted by a Florida-based company called Cyber Ninjas, whose chief executive officer, Doug Logan, had previously pushed Trump’s conspiracy theories about the election on social media. The company, and the state senators who commissioned the audit, have not offered a full account of who is funding the audit or the companies involved in conducting it.

It has been broadcast by the pro-Trump propaganda outlet One America News, which has also solicited donations for the audit. OAN reported last week that huge numbers of ballots were missing – triggering a wave of aggregated reports by pro-Trump conspiracy websites. But Pullen, the audit’s spokesman, told a pool reporter

Monday that reports of hundreds of thousands of missing ballots are “crazy.”

Experts have said the auditors are ignoring standard procedures for post-election reviews and are following processes that could introduce errors and bias into the results of their count.

The GOP-controlled Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and county recorder Stephen Richer – the Republican tasked with administering elections, who was himself elected in 2020 – have harshly condemned the audit. Supervisors called it a “sham.” Richer, in a CNN op-ed last month, condemned “laughably inaccurate” claims made by the audit team.

Nationally, some Republicans have similarly criticized the Arizona proceedings. …

Oh boy, oh boy, would I like to be a fly on the wall (packing a recording device), as they are strategizing on how to spin their “results.”

My friends. The Putin Biden meeting has happened must to the disappointment of many here on this site. I notice the America’s refused to hold a joint sitting to front the media post talks. Highly unusual. Seems they did not want Putin to negate the Biden narrative on how the talks went. Quite the cowards

There is more my friends post meeting

Biden shows a staggering lack of self-awareness or something.

The Putin Biden meeting has happened must to the disappointment of many here on this site.
Well then, I must be in the minority. I think any personal, face to face meeting is better than misinterpreted, media-quotes-out-of-context exchange between leaders.

You don’t think Putin’s credibility is waning when he compares Navalny to the insurgents of Jan 6?

Not at all my friend. Relatively little was said about Alexei Navalny, the much-fawned-over “pro-democracy” oppositionist, although Biden did indicate it would be bad if he died.

some people here will be very very upset if US has warm relations with Russia

Why do you continue to speak for others?

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised US President Joe Biden Thursday, describing him as a "professional" who is "completely knowledgeable on all issues," according to a Kremlin transcript of Putin's televised remarks. "Mr. Biden is a professional, and you need to be very careful when working with him so as not to miss something," Putin said during a videoconference meeting with graduates from Russia's Graduate School of Public Administration. "He himself does not miss a thing, I assure you, and this was absolutely clear to me." Unlike the doofus that the stupid Americans put in last time."
.. OK, I added that last part.

BBC hack schooled

lol, Putin is sharp, he must have been running rings around Biden without him even realising…

Question: Thank you.

Steve Rosenberg, BBC News.

Mr President, Joe Biden is calling for stable and predictable relations with Russia. But it is believed in the West that unpredictability is a feature of the Russian foreign policy. Are you ready to give up unpredictability for the sake of improving relations with the West?

Thank you.

Vladimir Putin: You are a famous wordsmith who has reached a high degree of perfection in this field; this is to be envied. In the first part of your question, you said “it is believed in the West.” In the second part, you asked if we are ready to give this up. If something is believed in the West, this does not mean that it is true.

Let me begin with the first part of your question. You said it is believed in the West that Russia’s foreign policy is unpredictable. Let me return the puck. The US withdrawal from the ABM Treaty in 2002 was an absolutely unpredictable decision. Why was it necessary to do this, thereby destroying the basis of international stability in the field of strategic security? Then pulling out of the INF Treaty in 2019. Is this stability? Absolutely not. The withdrawal from the Open Skies Treaty, is this stability? There is almost nothing left in the sphere of strategic stability. Thankfully, President Biden adopted an absolutely adequate decision to extend the New START Treaty for five years.

Or take the situation with Ukraine and Crimea – is it a song and dance situation? Was it for the sake of stability that coup d’état was supported in Ukraine after former President Yanukovych had agreed to accept all demands of the opposition? He was actually ready to step down and to hold new elections in three months. But no, it was decided to stage a bloody coup d’état, which has led to the consequences everyone is aware of, in the southeast of Ukraine and later in Crimea.

And you say we are unpredictable? No, I don’t think so. In my opinion, we are responding absolutely adequately to the arising threats. I believe that for the situation to be really stable we should coordinate the rules of conduct in all the spheres you have mentioned: strategic stability, cyber security, and the settlement of regional conflicts.

I think that it is possible to come to an agreement on all these issues; at least this is my impression after the meeting with President Biden today.

Sabolina, if you don’t mine I’ll bring this back to the title topic.

One America News is the face of the Arizona election audit. Its reporter is also helping pay for it.

By Paul Farhi and Elahe Izadi - June 18, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. MDT

One America News correspondent Christina Bobb had some exciting news to share from the scene of the Arizona GOP-led audit of the 2020 presidential vote in Maricopa County: Republican lawmakers from another battleground state had just paid a visit to see if they might replicate it back home.

“If they like what they see, [they’ll] take it back to Pennsylvania,” she told her audience this month from the floor of a massive Phoenix arena where more than 2 million ballots are being removed from boxes and examined by hand.

“I think we can expect to see a lot more key decision-makers coming out to take a look,” she added, hopefully.

Christina Bobb didn’t mention in her report that she had helped raise money to pay for those lawmakers to visit. Nor that she worked with Arizona Republicans last year to find some of the initial, much-disputed evidence they used to justify the audit.

While mainstream reporters have been confined to a small area far from the audit tables and threatened with trespassing arrests if they wander outside it, GOP organizers have granted extensive access to One America — a low-rated, intensely partisan cable channel whose personalities have spent half a year trying to delegitimize President Biden’s electoral victory.

Sabolina, I wonder if any of that bothers you?

Neither Christina Bobb nor One America President Charles Herring responded to requests for comment for this story.

Christina Bobb … A 38-year-old lawyer and former Trump administration official who had no background in journalism when she joined One America’s “reporting staff” a year ago, Christina Bobb has since taken on several conflicting roles in the Arizona proceedings.

She’s been a cheerleader for the audit and some of the conspiracy theories that underlie it. “The entire country knows it will unravel the Democrats’ schemes from 2020,”

Christina Bobb told viewers of her opinion show on One America in late April, a few days after the audit began. “Joe Biden is not a legitimate president.”

Christina Bobb reportedly is in semiregular contact with Trump, conveying news and encouragement about the operation, which the former president hopes will lead to a reversal of his loss in Arizona and, eventually, the entire electoral college. (Arizona Republicans have insisted the audit is meant to protect future elections; not reverse the last one.)

Christina Bobb occasionally acts more like a traditional news correspondent when she’s reporting from the audit room floor, as in a May 5 segment in which she laboriously explained the meaning of workers’ color-coded T-shirts.

Christina Bobb is also one of the audit’s financiers. (Christina Bobb announced at the end of her May segment.) “If you would like to donate to see this audit completed in its entirety, you can do so at voicesandvotes.org,”

Christina Bobb has disclosed elsewhere that she is Voices and Votes’s president and CEO; insists the group is unaffiliated with One America despite the on-air promos; and claims that it has raised at least $150,000 for the audit. Some of the money was used to fly lawmakers to Arizona from other states Trump lost, so they could consider replicating the audit back home.

And finally — Christina Bobb is in some respects one of the audit’s founding sleuths. Emails obtained by the Center for Public Integrity, a government watchdog group, show that late last year Christina Bobb supplied Karen Fann — the Republican president of the Arizona Senate, who would go on to oversee the audit — with a list of expert witnesses and declarations from poll workers who claimed to have seen signs of fraud in November. The declarations came from Trump’s lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani. …

My friend Citizen. The Biden administration and the media work are suppressing revelations in congressional hearings run by the Democrats, regarding Trump allies within the state sabotaging the defense of the Capitol complex.

With constant pleas of bipartisanship” and “unity,” the Democratic Leadership downplays or entirely ignores these revelations as well as the mainstream media, from the New York Times and the Washington Post to the broadcast and cable news networks.

The hearing with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Lt. Gen. Walter Piatt, director of the Army staff, and Gen. Charles Flynn, currently the commanding general of the US Army Pacific revealed that-

• The FBI failed to act on over 50 separate notifications by the social media platform Parler, relaying, in the words of Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, “specific threats of violence being planned at the Capitol.” In one warning, a Parler user called on fascists to come to D.C. on January 6 to take on “Antifa” and “start eliminating people.”

• Director Wray refused to answer why the Bureau did not issue a threat assessment specific to January 6 or coordinate with the Department of Homeland Security and designate January 6 as a National Special Security Event. Nor could Wray explain why the FBI had yet to turn over documentation requested by the committee.

• Gen. Piatt admitted that he did not want federal troops to be used as a “clearing force at the Capitol,” even as the building was under siege by fascistic militias and desperate lawmakers were begging for help.

• Neither general could explain why it took hours to send National Guard troops to clear the Capitol. Their absurd stonewalling about the need for a “concept of operation” plan was belied in previous testimony by then-D.C. National Guard Commander William Walker. Walker said Piatt and Flynn justified their rejection of his initial request for permission to deploy National Guard troops, at 1:49 p.m., on the grounds that having soldiers deployed to the Capitol would be “bad optics.”

Walker further testified in March that he had 155 guardsmen fully equipped and ready to deploy, and that their timely dispatch to the Capitol could have “secured the perimeter” and “made a difference.”

No one at Tuesday’s hearing mentioned the fact that Charles Flynn is the younger brother of retired General Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser. Days before the January 6 coup attempt, Michael Flynn publicly urged Trump to declare martial law and hold new elections at gunpoint in swing states that had given Biden his margin of victory.

MY FRIEND does this concern you??

Yes it does.

And my Senator Bennet is a piece of stale white bread, who’s not doing near enough.

Cc's Elevator Pitch

We The People have a moral ethical right - along with a pragmatic need - to learn what scientists have learned about this planet’s biosphere and climate engine without constant dishonest crossfire.

We should not tolerate serious scientists always being drown out by amoral, dishonest and frankly ignorant arguments - that an astoundingly ruthless PR factory repeats over and over again, without ever learning a damned thing from the evidence in front of us.

I’m also looking for someone to reach out to me, perhaps even hire me - to do some research and writing and to help this effort achieve a greater audience - an editor, agent, interested other, who gets what I’ve been trying to do here and thinks it deserves a bit of help.

Drop me a line @ citizenschallenge at gmail.com

Now can you explain why what’s happening in Arizona doesn’t seem to bother you at all?

Or why you think we should ignore it, which I think you do, since you are always deflecting.

Wait my friend there is much more

• The US Capitol Police Containment and Emergency Response Team, or CERT, spent a total of $90,075 in 2018 and 2019 for training by a private paramilitary contractor run by neo-fascist former Special Operations killers who cut their teeth in America’s dirty colonial wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

• The same CERT team failed to respond to urgent requests from besieged police within the Capitol during the coup. During questioning it was revealed that one CERT official told a special-ops officer that CERT did not want to deploy “less-lethal” ammunition because “they did not want people falling down the steps.”

• CERT failed to carry out “leadership evacuations,” i.e., efforts to rescue targeted Democratic lawmakers as well as Vice President Mike Pence from militarily trained militia members who invaded the Capitol and demanded that they be hanged.

Committee Chairwomen Zoe Lofgren asked Bolton if CERT’s failure to deploy put “congressional leadership or even the vice president in danger?” Bolton, with emphasis said, “It is a concern that they were not there.”
