How Republicans recount ballots in Arizona. Putin must be proud!

Subversion of the democratic institutions and process in other countries and not recognising duly elect govts that the US does not like. USA has a track record in this and no country looks up to the US as the std for democracy

ROFLMAO! I don’t even look up to the U.S. as the standard for democracy and I’m a Dem.

Of course you dont look it up. You just keep asserting it for crying out loud!!

Of course you dont look it up.

That’s not what I said. I said I do not look up to the U.S. Reread it.

“I said I do not look up to the U.S”

Yeah!!!

Biden - we need a strong Republican party.

Its an observation you can challenge or disagree with rather than be so dismissive
My observation is that your comment doesn't inform me of anything. There are a million things CC isn't commenting on.

Very subjective narrow minded repetitive commentary on a broad subject

What to do with folks who think this mess is just fine???

50 of 60 days have been spent on this massive exercise of misdirection with 10% of the ballots counted and, they feel fine, though now they want yet more access …

Inside Arizona’s election audit, GOP fraud fantasies live on By JONATHAN J. COOPER and BOB CHRISTIE, May 10th, 2021

There are no watermarks on ballots in Maricopa County. The effort has since been (quietly) abandoned. …

Critics call the undisclosed private funding a huge red flag — the audit could be funded by foreign governments or people with a stake in the outcome like ardent Trump supporters. …

The audit has its own Twitter account, and it has taken on a Trumpian air, deploying hyperbole and sharp attacks on Democrats and journalists. …

The ballots were handed over to Cyber Ninjas, a tiny cybersecurity firm whose president, Doug Logan, is a Trump supporter who has shared outlandish conspiracy theories about the election. …

Senate Republicans are threatening to issue another subpoena as soon as Monday demanding passwords for voting machines and internet routers. County officials are balking, saying that they’ve turned over all passwords they have and that giving up routers would jeopardize a wide variety of sensitive data, from health records to confidential and classified information at the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Paul Penzone, a Democrat, called the demand “mind-numbingly reckless and irresponsible.” …

The operation has been slowed by mistakes and operational problems. …

Staffing has been an issue as well. Despite promises that an army of counters is imminent, only about a third of the 46 counting tables are being used. …

The Senate leased the Coliseum for four weeks as part of an audit that was supposed to take “about 60 days.” But with one week left before the auditors have to vacate the arena for a series of high school graduations, only about 10% of the ballots have been counted.

Bennett said the count may continue into July. …

That’s the same Bennet who bragged: “I think Republicans can count votes on ballots as well as Democrats or Libertarians or independents,” Bennett said.

Obviously not, but don’t tell him that, he’ll call you un-trumpian, er, I meant un-amerikan.

One Republican senator, who initially was fine with the review, has grown disillusioned with the choice of an auditor with “preconceived notions” and a focus on pursuing conspiracy theories.

“There’s not even a perception of independence,” said Sen. Paul Boyer of Glendale, a Phoenix suburb.

Yeah but if you hum a few bars. ...

Well, unless I find it uninteresting nonsense. ?

Then again I might chim in on that too, if the mood strikes me.

John, I have the feeling you’re not that bad, but your one liners, don’t do you any credit.

Very subjective narrow minded repetitive commentary on a broad subject -- johncitizen1
My opinion is that CC is none of those things. You might be mistaking quantity for quality. You might not realize you are on a discussion forum on the internet that has no academic requirements, no judges that tell people what or how often they can post. Subjective narrow minded repetitive commentary is kind of the norm in forums. It's why I come here, because there is less of that. If you can recommend a better forum, please do. Then go there and stop commenting here.

The most disruptive person on this forum right now is you.

Thanks Lausten. As you point out this is discussion forum.

All of have somewhat limited bandwidths. In fact, that’s why we participate in a discussion forum, always hoping for someone to come up with something new or interesting, outside of our ow bubbles. Every once in a while we have great short chats, that’s fun.

But John seems angry and more into gotchas, perhaps tinged with a bit of moral superiority. I keep waiting for him to write something honest and interesting and worth pursuing in a discussion.

If you don’t like the level of dialogue over here. Do something about!

Start writing something that’s worth discussing yourself.

We’re ready.

This was part of what I was wondering about with the audit - integrity and validity after they’re done with it. … i.e They are doing destructive sampling in scientific terms, though there is probably little that is scientific about them.

Voting machines from Arizona’s most populous county should not be used in the future after state Senate Republicans forced officials to give them access for an audit of 2020 election results, the state’s top elections official said Thursday.

Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, said in a letter that Maricopa County lost control of the machines after they were handed over and doesn’t know what was done to them.

Even the machine makers:

“There are real concerns about what the unaccredited ‘auditors’ have done to Maricopa County’s voting equipment, and whether the machines remain useable for future elections," Dominion said in a statement.

Ted cruz is out doing the Dems on Russiaphobia. He just called putin a left wing dictator!!

Ted Cruz is out doing the Dems on Russia-phobia. He just called Putin a left wing dictator!!
A little more complex, as I understand that. Cruz was labelled KremlinCruz for having shared a Russian military propaganda video on Twitter which then mocked a U.S. Army recruitment video aimed toward women. "Perhaps a woke, emasculated military is not the best idea", he added. He answered by calling Russian President Vladimir Putin a KGB-backed "communist."

In fact, Pµtin has become a dictator, suppressing opposition. And he began his career as a KGB agent. But if ever he was a communist, right now he is mostly a clan chief appropriating Russia richesses for himself and his buddies. And free market is a name for him.

Dont think the oligarchs are doing too well under Putin as they were under USA puppet Yeltsin

How would you know how Russian oligarchs are doing?

What do you know?

Putin was the chosen successor by Yeltsin !

Yeltsin was corrupt, a drunkard and had many other faults, but he was not a USA puppet as far as i know.

And under Putin, Russians oligarch are doing very well, as long as they keep the favor of Putin.

I hear he actually cares about his citizens and is well loved by the regular people he rules.

My info comes from a good friend who’s Russian, as been in America only a few years, and is in constant contact with family. During the COVID crisis days, sounds to me like Russian citizens were in much better hands than Americans with their truly imbecilic president, (even if he’s smart as a fox when it comes to bullying and creating ruthless sycophants). In Russia they took medical science serious and didn’t f*%k around, testing and quarantine was happening everywhere. If you had it you HAD TO quarantine. Period! It you objected, cops stepped up and then you quarantined. But, social services was also there for you. to A) taking care of ya, food, med, other needs, B) making sure you were following rules.

Professional you could say. Listening to her, it easy to respect that side of the man, even if I rail against his messing around with America, although I can also see where American politics pushed him into his radicalization, and his increasingly menacing behavior towards his enemies. We tough guy bully Americas, have always been too stupid to realize we where teaching others much more sly than we, all of our bad habits and tricks of trade of bottomless avarice. Our sins come back to visit us, same as the sunset follows the day.

Guess Putin in a throw back to an older style of thinking. Ruthless despotic towards his enemies, living in maximum luxury, but not forgetting he’s the leader of his “kingdom” and his people rely on his ‘wise’ or at least effective governance.

Here in Amerika, We focused on developing a different Value: ME FIRST, f*%& everyone else.

Guess the lesson is no one has figured out how to do this humanity and society thing right and we’ve about run out of time. Okay, we have run out of time, but like Wile E. Coyote we have a lot of inertia built up. Hang on folks it’s going to are rocky ride.
