I agree that’s not how to approach people, and it’s going to take more than moralizing about their failures, which I’m guilty of doing, etc., etc…, from my 40 acre retreat (“mine”, as in possession is 9/10 of law, not on paper).
In the real world out there, trump is heading for a big implosion. That’s simply the trajectory these charismatic cult bubbles go. Exactly because there is no substance, only facade. They have built their reality on a house of deliberate willful lies and the blind acceptance thereof.
The bottom is going to fall out of their bubble, shadensfraude will be great. But the they are neighbors and friends and relatives, meaning careful treading. You know this CFI is my pub, where I can let my hair down and be forthright more so than I’d ever be with the parents of my three families of grandkids, or my siblings’ families.
Just thought that was worth mentioning. I feel a huge relief from where I was a week ago, so far as America’s political future. Now the challenge will be not to get too carried away and full of ourselves. Time to focus on changing minds, or we are losing. People need to relearn the importance of knowledge, experts & facts and constructive links of communication between diverse peoples, that’s simply the world of today, get real, learn to live with it, and so on . . .
We are busy with the political side show because it’s the next best thing to porn, and helps us forget the real problems people don’t want to think about.
Still, in the real world, the physical reality out there, things are unfolding that will crash everyone’s party and that will demand deep networks of understanding and cooperation to confront.
Or not.
