Informational hemiplegia leads to emotional hemiplegia. Regarding the war in Gaza, Rabbi Delphine Horvilleur even speaks of “empathetic hemiplegia”. We live in two parallel realities. Between those who relive the atrocities of October 7 over and over again, knowing that the Hamas (and Iran) project stems from a genocidal will, which they hold responsible for the reprisals against civilians used as shields. And those who see new images of Palestinian children emerging from the rubble every day, and hold Netanyahu responsible for this interminable and disproportionate war, which they sometimes call “genocide”. Even between people of good faith, dialogue becomes difficult. Between those who think that only war will save the last hostages, and those who hope that a ceasefire will allow their release to be negotiated, each reacts according to what they know or do not know, want to see or not see. But we see little. Between Israel which prohibits real journalists from working and Hamas activists who manufacture false images, the result is blinding. It allows pro-Palestinians to believe their fantasies, and pro-Israelis to believe their denials, that some deaths are false, even when they are true (read our broth)! Hyper-emotionality prevents us from thinking. Hyper-rationality prevents us from feeling. To the point that we are moving away from a common agora every day. The Russians know this and are taking advantage of it. With each new crisis, their “Disinformation” department drowns us in fake news to confuse our ability to believe in the same facts, in order to set us against each other, and to elect liars who suit their war and their interests… Like Donald Trump, under influence, and who is tearing America apart.
How can we not give in to this polarization that leads to civil war? By keeping a cool head and choosing to follow trustworthy media. Very often, it is emotional hemiplegia that pushes us towards informational hemiplegia. In search of comfortable truths, we agree to be watered down by adulterated sources, the better to go round in circles and lull ourselves with illusions. You have to be a journalist or a masochist to tear yourself away from this comfort, remove the drip, and force yourself to think against yourself. But not all journalists can do it. Due to a lack of leather and experience, a partisan spirit, a taste for “likes” and clicks, many follow the pack or fear it.

I think you have this wrong way around. It is Cheney who is teaming up with VP Harris, not because she endorses Harris, but she hates Trump as a seditionist.
No matter what you think of Cheny, she respects the Constitution.
This is why Harris has promised all parties a “seat at the table”. The democratic way of governance!

He does not have more experience. The only experience he’s had was 4 years of not doing anything except killing U.S. citizens. Now, Kamala has been an prosecutor, a politician, and now Vice president. She has far more experience than he’s ever had.
Let’s hope not, because that would mean the majority want a Fascists to lead this country. A Fascists worse than Hitler, who kill women, children, minorities, LBGTQ, and more.
As for Cheney, here father was more for the U.S. than the Orange Menace ever will be. The orange menace is only for himself and about himself. Kamala is for the people.
