Haitians in Ohio

This is a thread about Haitians in Ohio. You cited US birth rate, then you started talking about world population. Don’t blame me for not making sense of this.

Aah yes, I’m sorry. Got numbers mixed.

But in response to the claim that we need more people in the US, we don’t, but can accommodate.
The exponential function works the same for the US as for the entire world.

simply put:
A current US population of 333.3 million @ 1 % growth p/yr, will grow to 666.6 million in 70 years.

Look at Haiti if you want to known why Haitians are a bad choice of immigrants. Wherever they end up in this country, they will make that spot unlivable.

Of course I’m “other” to somebody else. That doesn’t matter in this case because I’m not moving to their homeland. Moral arguments about immigration are a waste because you’re either for it, or against it. I already said why it’s nonsense to allow others to move here because someone else moved here.

Economically, endless unskilled immigration lowers wages for our own struggling workers, and they deserve better simply because they’re Americans.

And criminality-wise – as I said above, look at Haiti!

Prejudice is caused by a lot of things. Simply dealing with people different from oneself can cause prejudice.

Since there can’t be a moral answer, ideally, we should respect the way most of the population feels.

We Americans have damaged our environment in many ways. Not only the natural environment, but the man-made environment. A good example that comes to mind right away is “White Flight” from our cities. We also have the ability to fix the damage – at least a lot of it, and to correct ourselves.

Not everybody can do this. Somalians for example have moved into areas that were somewhat run down and made them even worse, which drives the remaining functional people away.

You might be very comfortable, but you’re not on the same level as Theresa May or Klaus Schwab.

That’s not an argument. You see what you want to see. I looked at Haiti quite a bit back when I was working with an organization that sent food there. There’s not much point in me describing what I see since you see selectively.

Then you would know it’s a dump.

Yeah

Old French architecture is far from the norm in Haiti.

This is the norm:

I know there are problems. Did you know America has problems?

Prejudice is when you say an entire country is messed up and everyone who comes from there is fatally flawed.

Did you know america is the problem??

According-to-Leonard-the-U-S-A has-5% of-the-worlds population-but-uses-30-of-the-resources-and-makes-30-of-the-waste-and-this-is-a-problem

Good example of your off topic ranting. The “problem” being discussed in this thread is Haitians in Ohio. Americas use of resources didn’t cause people to be prejudice of Haitians in Ohio. Americas use of resources doesn’t address oneguy’s assessment of Haitian governance.

So, you’re not wrong, you’re just wildly off topic, making a comment for some unknown reason. Start your own thread or use this random fact in some other conversation, when it’s relevant.

Oh its very relevant . It supports how the States destroyed that country

That article is about private septic tanks in rural, Black areas. An interesting connection, I notice.

There are no public sewage systems constantly spilling out in American cities like in Haiti.

I just showed you there are. Your article is mostly about Port-Au-Prince.

Your article only talked about private septic tanks in some rural areas. That’s completely different from municipal sewage systems, which get rid of most of our wastewater and are monitored and maintained consistently throughout the US by law.

Nothing at all like that exists in Haiti.

How about lead water lines, causing lead poisoning in entire towns?

High lead levels have been found in tap water in Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Newark, New York, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C. One NRDC analysis found that between 2018 and 2020, 56 percent of the U.S. population drank from water systems with detectable levels of lead.

You were trying make an argument that if you come from Haiti then there is something wrong with you. I’m not convinced.

EPA estimates there are at least 23,000 - 75,000 SSOs per year (not including sewage backups into buildings) in the U.S.

Jump to 15 minutes to see the follow up. Real journalists talked to the real people and they really said Haitians are not the problem. One of them found their cat in the basement. No one can come up with a real problem that is really caused by immigrants.

100 year old lead pipes are a small problem that our government is dealing with. It’s nothing compared to the health hazard of open sewage everywhere like in Haiti.

Haitians are absolutely terrible at building and maintaining infrastructure. That’s why Haiti is the way it is. Now they’re here and it will only be a matter of time before they drive off the locals and turn Springfield into a hovel

Wear and tear on infrastructure is inevitable. The big difference that you don’t seem to get is our infrastructure is monitored and repaired when it gets to that point. In Haiti that doesn’t happen.

You must have forgotten that “The Daily Show” is just a parody of the news.
