Greetings, I am a de-facto Atheist from Northeast Ohio. I am a Sales Engineer by trade. I am excited to meet other CFI members and learn more about the organization. It is my hope to attend one of the local events in the near future and introduce myself in person.
Welcome.

But if you get a chance come to a pot luck dinner held the 2nd Weds. every month @&7:00 at CFI International on Sweet Home Rd Amherst. Also Recovering from Religion Meets there every Monday @ 7:00.
Welcome BMT. One of the problems with us nontheists is that we don’t seem to have the drive to congregate (possibly because of our independence of thought). Another is the negative attitudes sold by the churches that inhibit many of us from knowing others of our views. I spent my last working years in chemical sales dealing with other chemists, yet I never mentioned my atheism nor did any of them although I’d guess that some of them were atheists or agnostics.
Although they’ve become annoyingly religious, you might check out a local Unitarian church (temporarily) because there may still be some atheist members there. For example, I attend a Wednesday lunch group of five guys, all atheists and all of whom passed through the local Unitarian church but left as the new religious regime took over.

Welcome BMT. Glad to have you here. If you attend various skeptic/freethought/atheist gatherings, I’m sure you’ll meet a few. I’m going to meet Debbie Goddard again this weekend (or so the list of guest speakers states) at Skepticon this weekend. It’s always nice to visit with her and others from CFI.

How so you define "de facto atheist" and how does it differ from plain, old vanilla atheist? Loia
Greetings fellow Buckeye! Glad to have you here. As I understand it there is a rather large CFI org. In Cleveland. You might try there. Anyway, you’ll enjoy the forum for info and challenging debate as you’ve probably already seen. Welcome aboard.
