Gonna be a wild and bumpy ride. Trump tells media what's what.

Donald Trump’s media summit was a ‘f—ing firing squad’ By Emily Smith and Daniel Halper November 21, 2016 http://nypost.com/2016/11/21/donald-trumps-media-summit-was-a-f-ing-firing-squad/ Donald Trump scolded media big shots during an off-the-record Trump Tower sitdown on Monday, sources told The Post. “It was like a f–ing firing squad," one source said of the encounter. “Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed,’ " the source said. “The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down," the source added. A second source confirmed the fireworks. “The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks," the other source said. “Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars," the source said. “Trump didn’t say [NBC reporter] Katy Tur by name, but talked about an NBC female correspondent who got it wrong, then he referred to a horrible network correspondent who cried when Hillary lost who hosted a debate – which was Martha Raddatz who was also in the room." The stunned reporters tried to get a word in edgewise to discuss access to a Trump Administration.

On NPR this morning, someone summarized it as, “sounds like he has some policies to discuss, but just needs to get some things off his chest first.”
No, No, No. He will never get everything off his chest.

Trump doesn’t tell the truth, of course he needs to attack and neutralize the press if he’s going to last even a moment in what is supposed to be the most critical political environment on Earth. The freedom of the press isn’t there to serve the elected leaders, it’s there to hold them accountable. Apply that to “man” who’s entire life seems to be based on avoiding any real accountability.
Our last PM here did the exact same thing, he attacked and marginalized the Canadian media to a point where he was engaging in some of the most draconian actions of any sitting Canadian leader virtually unobserved. It took 8 years to get him out of power.

Also want to bet the extreme alt-right “media” is going to get a free pass from Trump, Steve Bannon from Breitbart is his chief White House strategist. Breitbart is the site that had one of its editors banned from twitter for directing attacks on a black actor he apparently didn’t like.

Leslie Jones quit Twitter this week after the abuse, and said the network was not doing enough to stop it. She accused Breitbart technology editor Milo Yiannopoulos, known as @nero, of directing the abuse. Yiannopoulos says his account has now been shut down by Twitter and will not be restored. A screenshot of a message sent to him by Twitter, and posted by Breitbart, said he had broken its rules "prohibiting participating in or inciting targeted abuse of individuals".

it really does make you wonder what's next
Unfortunately you seem to be in the tiny minority. Seems like most are still oblivious and simply going along for the ride. Too bad Democracy is a thing that needs to be maintained by and with an informed and engaged electorate. From the looks of it, most the electorate that was asleep before this election, continues to slumber as if all were okay with the world and we hadn't put a crazy man in our White House. With a little luck Trump will piss off the media enough to get them back to their journalistic duties, the lazy bastards. With a little luck the comedians will drive the Trump man-baby to mad distraction and some dramatic final climatic meltdown. Remember the scene in scanners, if there were moral justice in the world . . . . . With a hell of a lot of luck American citizens will grow up and awaken to their duty and confront the other Americans who want to pretend they can turn back time and tide and make our country into some Great White Christian Man's Kingdom that it never ever was.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.- Thomas Jefferson My family arrived in America in the 1740s in Virginia and more than a few of them have shed their blood to preserve at least a chance of freedom for the coming generations. I also grew up being told I looked just like a cousin who died with Patton's 3rd. breaking out of Normandy in August 1944, it truly pisses me off that the same kind of people he and so many died defending us all from now have the ear of almost certainly the most unqualified person to sit in the White House.
