It just broke my heart to see Cecil killed. But I am having trouble figuring out if Dr. Palmer should be prosecuted? I am split between yes if prosecuted in the US and no if in Zimbabwe. I understand the reasons for hunting and how it can help the species as part of the population management system. But this Lion hunting is not meeting the standards. If nothing else I would like to see a law requiring United States hunters to buy an insurance bond for overseas hunting of certain animals for at least a million dollars that guarantees that all laws are followed. We could call it the Cecil Law.
