Oh, man. I just watched an hour of AOC being interviewed by Chris Hayes. D_AMMN! AOC ROCKS! If she is just acting she deserves an Academy Award.
One thing I wanted to pass along, is that when the new left movement was said, by one guest, to be the equivalent of the past dysfunctional tea party movement - there were some negative shouts from the audience. AOC immediately cut those audience members off, and said that was unacceptable, and thus indicated the difference between her and Trump on addressing civility within an audience of her proponents. She also took issue with the false equivalency of the new progressive movement being like the Tea Party, saying that her rise was funded by small donors, while Tea Party candidates were funded by the Koch brothers. (So this made me think, okay, if you want to identify who the politicians are that are actually “puppets”, you should follow the money.)
I just heard that FOX News has had more mentions of AOC than they have of any single one of the Democratic candidates who are running for POTUS.
I think this is indicative of the right’s desperation to replace the worn out whipping boy (of Hillary) with a new figure on which to focus their scorn, hatred, and paranoia.
No doubt AOC is a hit. Sure a nice change in the direction the wind was blowing in the political mad house.
My money is on Nancy. I think she will somehow knock the feet out from under the Justice Democrats. – earlier posting
Today’s news
Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Pressley, D-Mass., both insurgents who ousted entrenched members of their own party, over the weekend criticized a policy by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) to blacklist political firms that work against sitting members of Congress.
Justice Democrats, the group that boosted Ocasio-Cortez’s primary bid last year, has blanketed its Twitter feed with shout-outs to the two freshmen, while its director Alexandra Rojas is doing the same – while accusing the DCCC of being “afraid” of the Pressleys and AOCs of the world.
Nancy is strong but not strong enuf to overcome time. She should, for all of our sakes, embrace and support AOC.
Nancy is having her problems today with AOC and the Justice Democrats. The split in her party is really showing. She has moderate left democrats that need the nonsense impeachment actions stopped if they are going to keep their seats. The far left is not going to back off, if anything they are increasing impeachment efforts. No doubt Nancy will stop any votes on this. But that will make Nancy look bad to the far left. And that seems to be the goal. It is not about Trump at all. It is about building the Justice Democrats to be a strong branch of the Party.
The moderate Dems theoretically have the same ultimate goals as the Progressive wing. Their history of accomplishing progressive goals has been painfully slow, and sometimes even those gains have been reversed by the extremist right. Obama was seen as a progressive when he was 1st elected. But he didn’t even speak out for gay marriage, until Biden did 1st. Anyway, the party has been moving in the direction of the Justice Dems for awhile now.
Bernie and I think a reaction to the successes of the extreme right gave the progressive left a major thrust forward. They are not in the majority, yet, but are well on their way. Time marches on and Nancy would do well to embrace the future, while doing what she can to protect moderate Dems in those areas that a progressive cannot be elected. She is right, I think, to hold off impeachment, for now, while there is absolutely no hope that it can be used to remove our current POTUS from office. For now, he is above the law.
The Senate had a vote on the Green New Deal which only a couple of Democrats voted for. This gave Pelosi the data to say that the Dem party has these wings. And the progressive wing group has no more than five people. Pelosi says the Democrats must stay in the center and go mainstream and reject socialism as an economic system. That being progressive is not the views of the Democratic Party.
Pelosi told Trump to remove the 9/11 remark about Omar. That it put her life in danger. Pelosi did that in the news. Pelosi wanted everyone to see that 9/11 remark. If she was worried about Omar’s safety, she would have contacted Trump privately, not publicly.
Looks like Pelosi is going after all the puppets.

You are right about Bernie. The second Nancy went after the progressive wing. Bernie call Fox and wanted a town hall set up. Bernie is letting the progressives know he is willing to lead them. If I remember correctly AOC campaigned for Bernie. I think Bernie is going to be harder for Nancy to deal with than AOC. There are still people who think Bernie could have beaten Trump but got screwed by the DNC.
Cher is for letting Trump have the wall funding. Nancy has a lot of problems to deal with. She needs to appear strong even if she isn’t.

Its been a month now and AOC has got Nancy in a corner. Nancy is holding a meeting today to try and stop the AOC push. But it is looking like I was wrong, and you were right about AOC and Nancy.
