Why doesn't the GOP want a border deal?

What does that mean?

Wearing a fur hat in Texas should be a clue to who were dealing with.

If “,they” are bringing sex trafficking here, who are they trafficking to? Maybe we should address that.

Didn’t you use to say that it was such a small percentage number of illegals compared to the US population that it was not an issue? How has that worked out. Why do I get the feeling of a switch and bait? “We need immigrants to grow our economy”. What’s that got to do with the price to tea in China? The border is about illegals. Not immigrants. We can issue as many work visas as needed to fill any worker shortage. Show me some data to back up the claim that a solution by the Democrats would have solved the problems.

The Republicans aren’t winning the minorities. The minorities are leaving the Democrats.

In 2023 the Democrat pushed the idea that increasing the size of the work force increases the amount it produces. And that will significantly reduce inflation. Or as democrats say, transitory inflation.

The Center for Immigration Studies says immigration cannot significantly reduce inflation. And the percentage of illegals willing to work is 67.1% whereas American born rate is 61.7%. I guess people are people. So why can’t American’s get free education, health care, guaranteed income, free legal, paid transportation?

The idea behind this is that each dollar in circulation can bring in $16 in taxes if the money keeps circulating. The more paid out by the government. The more tax money they bring in.

2024 – Inflation is still a problem. And now the results are that the standard of living is dropping. And we have learned in the past. We can expect labor strikes and family break-ups due to economic pressures. Inflationary Recession is what is going on. Plenty of work. Plenty of money. But the standard of living keeps going down. Another word for it is Socialism.

Now that I got that off my chest. Why the GOP doesn’t want a border deal. You have got to stop the real conspiracy theories. And not promote ones like, claiming the Biden laptop is not real. Check out GovTrack.us and you can see all the border bills. The majority filled by Republicans.

Looks like CFI is picking up. Good work.

Because you make up what I’m thinking without listening to my words.

In your mind. That’s the problem. That’s what Republicans want you to think so they can get elected and funnel the wealth we all create to the top 0.01%.

Words are just spilling out of your head now. Where did this question come from?

“Choose” was the wrong term to use as we don’t really choose who we like, but that is a completely different topic than ones own government bringing in millions of highly fertile aliens for cheap labor.

I usually don’t bother correcting you, but that’s a whopper. It was working perfectly well for businesses to have sweatshops in other countries, where we can say that we don’t control their labor laws. Eventually, they got found out and people got upset with Nike and Apple and things changed a little, but anyway. Now, we have this weird system where everyone knows workers are coming in without documentation, workers that everyone knows we need, and we know the data on how many companies are getting busted for hiring them, keeping them housed in shacks, pretending like they just didn’t know they were “illegals”, all the while paying them less because the workers themselves won’t complain, or they will be back in their own country, risking their lives.

The government doesn’t employ them. They don’t have a program to bring them here. It’s only because of the lie that some people in government say they want a closed border while doing nothing to reform the system that it is how it is.

How spergy can you be Lausten?

Every Western government in every Western country with a significant economy says we must have immigrants and they keep magically appearing. The government is in charge, and they are to blame.

The governor of Texas says he would shoot people crossing the border if he wouldn’t get arrested for it.

I had to look that up. No suprise it has been taken out of context. Here is what he said:

“We are using every tool that can be used from building a border wall, to building these border barriers, to passing this law that I signed that led to another lawsuit by the Biden administration where I signed a law making it illegal for somebody to enter Texas from another country,” Abbott said on “The Dana Loesch Show” last week.
“The only thing that we’re not doing is we’re not shooting people who come across the border, because of course the Biden administration would charge us with murder,” Abbott later added.

How does the context change it?

He saying he’s doing everything that can be done legally. Some Liberals are interpreting it as he would love to turn brown people into swiss cheese, but then he’d be arrested.

I am guilty of that sometimes. But this is not one of those times. The border deal is about illegals. Not immigrants. That was the switch and bait. Bring up points about immigrants like that is a problem. I have not heard anyone complaining about the immigrants. What I have heard is people feeling sorry for the immigrants because they are following the laws and system where the illegals are breaking the laws and getting rewarded.

That is the problem. Yes, illegals. We do not have an immigrant problem. Plain and simple. Yes, that is what the Republicans want you to think. Because it is the facts and truth.

Biden is paying illegals, not immigrants, to come here and helping them after they are here. The more people in the population census in the areas the Democrats control. Then the more money from programs goes to those areas. It is that simple. The 20M illegals move a lot of money to Democrat controlled areas by raising the census. That’s what it is all about. It became a problem after Biden change the system and allowed the illegals to be counted.

It came from wondering if socialists would admit to creating problems that they will be blaming Trump for in a couple of years. Ref, Tom McClintock in a House Rules Committee state the immigration sub-committee data showed the average lifetime net cost of an illegal is after taxes paid minus services demanded is costing taxpayer $68,000.00. That comes to $680,000,000,000.00. https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/camarota-testimony.pdf

That’s funny because both companies are highly progressive and liberal. Don’t you know any Republican companies you could have named?

What are some of the common factors on these many companies you are talking about? I will tell you a couple. Most are immigrant owned. Are Democrat voting. English as a second language. When you go to Republican areas. The common factors are much different. Yes, they have illegals too. But, the reason is because the Democrats killed the H-2A programs with over regulations. It is easy to tell what area you are in. If the illegals are driving new trucks, then it is most likely Republican.

I’m guessing you didn’t read past the first few pages. He admits estimating over and over. He ignores the contribution side until the very end then doesn’t seem to understand how that works.

Here

Larger Economy a Benefit? There is no question that illegal immigration makes the U.S. economy hundreds of billions of dollars larger than it would otherwise be. More workers in the country means more economic activity. Based on the labor incomes of illegal immigrants and making a reasonable assumption about labor’s share of GDP, I estimate that illegal immigrants made the U.S. economy $321 billion dollars larger in 2019.46 While this is equal to only 1.5 percent of the nation’s $21.43 trillion GDP at that time, the dollar value is still enormous.47 However, the standard of living in a country is determined by per capita (i.e., per person) GDP, not the overall size of the economy. If all that mattered were the aggregate size of the economy, then a country like India would be considered vastly richer than a country like Sweden because India’s economy is larger. Some may think of the increase in the size of the economy that illegal immigrants create as a “contribution” that somehow offsets the fiscal costs of illegal immigrants. In reality, almost all of the increase in economic activity goes to the illegal immigrants themselves in the form of wages and benefits, as it should since they are the ones doing the work. Adding to the aggregate size of the economy is not a measure of their tax payments, nor is it a measure of the benefit to the rest of the U.S. populations.

I haven’t had a chance to check his sources, but I have a feeling they won’t help his case

No doubt that was the way it was some time back. Today few companies hire and pay illegals. To risky. They hire a service company to contract the worker. Same thing as sending the work overseas, just you bring the overseas worker’s here to do the work.

We had a great system. And many countries in Europe are still using the system they copied from us. That system was when we need workers. We would bring them in with a work visa. And when America didn’t need workers of a certain trade the workers had to go back to their country. That allowed the supply and demand of local workers use the capitalist system of wage increase to fill the labor needs.

Point being.
That illegals contribute more to the system than they use is not necessarily the case today. Maybe back when boys were boys and girls were girls, that was the case. At a time when illegals were mostly from the Americas and not a global mix like the immigrants were. When border protection meant a training ground for military training. When illegals would walk up to you and ask if you know where a border bus is. They have been partying and are too tired to walk back across the border. When the parking lots of border town high schools were mostly filled with Mexican license plates.

Sitting at a Denny’s in San Ysidro talking to some border agents when a group of border agents walked in from the new port at Otay Mesa that had just opened in 83’. One group said to the other, “I bet we returned more crossers”. And were asked “Well how many did you return?”. Reply “Just over 2,500”. “Nope, we beat you again this weekend” was the reply. There are three ports in San Diego. No doubt that illegal crossings back then were just a high or higher than today’s crossings.

But just as you could catch a ride anywhere at anytime by holding out your thumb. It was a different generation. Just as in my generation we didn’t have gun racks in the country schools like my father’s generation did. The facts today are. If we are going to be funding wars and political parties around the world. We need a secure border. On another point of view. History shows that Venezuela and East Germany did border security to keep the people in, not out. Maybe, if we keep going toward socialism. The GOP walls are a bad idea.

Back when America was great. Hooah!

You’re still quite the spinner of yarns.
