Half of Puerto Rico is still without power more than 3 months after the disastrous hurricane season, if this was any other place in the US with a largely white population they would have power back in days not months.
The revelation that more than 660,000 power customers across Puerto Rico still lack electricity more than three months after Hurricane Maria has sparked outrage, surprise and resignation among some islanders who accuse officials of mismanaging their response to the Category 4 storm.
It’s the first time the government of the U.S. territory has provided that statistic, which was released as authorities warned that a lot of work remains and that crews were still finding unexpected damage after Maria hit on Sept. 20 with winds of up to 154 mph, knocking power out to the entire island. Officials said 55 percent of Puerto Rico’s nearly 1.5 million customers have power.
About a quarter of Puerto Rico will still not have power by May, just another huge finger from trump to Latin Americans. As if that was needed after the way he treated all of Puerto Rico in the immediate aftermath of one of the worst disasters there ever.
President Donald Trump said Thursday morning that the United States cannot aid hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico "forever," offering the island territory a dramatically different level of commitment than he extended Texas and Florida after hurricanes rocked each of those states.
Thursday's Twitter messages from Trump compound previous statements saying the US territory has not done enough for itself during clean-up efforts and Twitter fights with Puerto Rican officials, such as San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz".
Check trump's closet and you will find a white robe with hood, what a racist piece of crap...
