And by what right does Russia determine when a sovereign nation wishes to join NATO, an organization that benefits all nations that strive to live by civilized and peaceful principles.
NATO is not a country that seeks to invade other countries. It is a voluntary alliance
and organization seeking to prevent countries from invading other countries, as Russia is threatening to do to Ukraine.
This is not a matter of posing an offensive threat to Russia. This is a matter of posing a defensive response to offensive threats by Russia.
It is Ukraine that is drawing the red line at their borders!
Russia has nothing to fear from Ukraine or any of the NATO members, they want to be left alone. Ukraine and other NATO members fear Russia, they want to annex Ukraine by force, as they have already demonstrated with forcefully annexing other bordering countries .

As a result, it looks as if the famous formula of George Orwell—“He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.”—has been tacitly enacted in Russia. The real tragedy of Russian society is that this seemingly impossible task has been accomplished with relative ease by means of the most shameless propaganda campaign in the history of Russia.
This campaign was first launched in 2004, with the “Orange Revolution” in Ukraine as a catalyst. Since then, its scope and volume have increased constantly. While the targets of the campaign varied, its common denominator has always been the same: post-Soviet states that failed to accept Russia’s “guidance”, let alone opting for a policy of which Russia did not approve, infringed upon its legitimate rights and interests.
This concept can be traced back to the famous talks Josef Stalin held with Winston Churchill in October 1944 in Moscow. At the latter’s suggestion, the two leaders discussed “spheres of influence” in post-war Eastern Europe, measuring them in percentages of Soviet and British interests in each country. The discussion came to nothing, but the “pragmatic” approach introduced by Churchill impressed Stalin. It looks as if Russia has now suddenly decided to apply this “old-fashioned” approach to the post-Soviet countries. Is Russia serious?

This is what fascism looks like. The rot/ putrefaction late-stage American capitalism has progressed to the point where its very survival is contingent upon constant debt monetization (aka money printing) to prop up financial markets and the military. This is becoming increasingly tenuous as this orgy of money printing and debt has created gigantic bubbles in every asset class- ‘everything bubble’, increasing inflation and threatening to derail the dollar’s role as world reserve currency and viability of western capitalism. The Pentagon has not ‘won’ a major war since 1945. Despite spending $21 trillion of taxpayer money of post-911 militarization, the US was defeated in Afghanistan (cost to taxpayers circa $21 trillion) and confronts strategic debacles in Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Yemen (poorest country in the ME). Despite these setbacks, the US ruling elite is doubling down, spending even more money on the Pentagon- Biden’s 2022 military budget is a record $770 billion. In addition, the Pentagon is planning wars in 3 potential theaters- Black Sea and Eastern Europe (directed against Russia), Persian Gulf (Iran) and Taiwan Strait (China). As Scott Ritter, Andrei Martyanov (http://smoothiex12.blogspot…) and others have pointed out, the US does not have sufficient force projection to prevail in any of these conflicts. The Russia, China, Iran axis is fully capable of destroying US bases in these areas and, if necessary target the US mainland with hyper-sonic missiles. Russia and China have developed an alternate payment system that will be used should Russia/China be cut off from Swift. Indeed, the Russian economy has become almost ‘sanction proof’. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been very clear with US/NATO. If they continue NATO expansion and threats against Russia and China, they will respond. The Soviet Union lost circa 25 million people during WWII and are well aware of the consequences of war. By contrast, the American population has not directly experienced war since 1860- Civil war. The US has been involved in foreign wars almost continuously since 1940 and as a result, war has been normalized, readily accepted and supported by taxpayers. As a result, the American public has no conception of the ferocity and levels violence that will be inflicted on the US by Russian and Chinese nuclear weapons. The ball is in the US court. If the Pentagon continues its aggressive and bellicose policies against the Russia, China, Iran axis, there will be a world war. As they say in the ATT commercial ‘it’s not complicated’!
