Okay. Weighing in, FWIW, as a professional wordsmith, and as someone who thinks Trump is a threat to world democracy.I agree with @widdershins about the title of this post. @citizenschallengev3 can say what he wants, but if this were a headline in the media, it would piss me off.
It reminds me of the debate on late-term abortion in the 2016 campaign: “If elected, Hillary pledges to allow moms to kill their unborn babies until the moment of delivery!”
Fortunately I wasn’t writing for a newspaper, I was posting at a sleepy forum, hoping to kick up a little conversation.
As for my misrepresenting the presidents actual words - by golly damned me. Guess I inadvertently mixed in a few years of observing this sociopathic president getting his way. I stand corrected and no offense intended.
But, like I say the normalization is really the amazing thing I’m struggling with as much as anything…
