Where’s the block button? I need to silence some extremely rude and unreasonable people.
As a moderator, I don’t use the block button because, even if I don’t want to know, I have to know what is happening on the site. Who do you believe is trolling you?
Is there is a block button I can use or do only mods have this ability? I’d prefer not to publicly shame the offenders any more than I did when defending myself against their attacks.
Click on the person’s name in any thread, then click it again, on the sub-menu to open a page about them. Look for a bell icon and the word “normal”. Click that, you’ll have choices.
Thank you for choosing this, rather than endless arguments.
There’s only a mute option. This means they can continue to publicly belittle me, and I would simply no longer be able to detect their trolling.
Only moderators can close accounts, silence people, or suspend them. that’s true for any forum. Is this the first forum you’ve ever posted to?
Did you find the rules? They in the upper right menu, aka hamburger menu, then FAQ. If you want to discuss how the rules are apply, use the “Issues and Complaints” section, which has special rules of its own.
I know of at least one social site that gives the user blocking ability. It’s very effective.
Exactly and that’s all a member really needs.
Ah, the serene tranquility of being oblivious to backstabbing!
Why so vague? Why not name the site?
