The Birth of the Stupid Party

One thing that is clear is what a complete liar Vyazma was in claiming to be a left winger. More like a neo-nazi. Who else would support such a creep?

Trump doesn't have to build A Wall. There already is A Wall. Trump merely means to expand it. In any case he has had the guts to open a realistic discussion on the problem this country faces with illegal immigration. Period.
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jan/01/unfinished-us-mexico-border-wall-texas-secure-fence-act
Close to the southern tip of Texas, a border wall suddenly ends. Its final post sits in a dry cornfield half a mile from the nearest bend in the Rio Grande river, the actual border with Mexico. It would be easy to walk around it. Tires left by the border patrol rest nearby. Agents drag them behind trucks to smooth the cracked earth and check for footprints. Unlike famous barriers such as the Berlin Wall or the Great Wall of China, the US version is not much of a wall. What stands in Texas is a fragmented series of fencing, composed of enormous steel bars embedded in concrete close together. The rust-colored thick bars that must reach a height of 18ft loom over the landscape, forming teeth-like slats that split farmland, slice through backyards, and sever parks and nature preserves. There are miles of gaps between segments and openings in the fence itself. As a result of the Secure Fence Act passed in 2006, the government built some 650 miles of wall along the 1,954-mile US-Mexico boundary. While 1,254 miles of that border is in Texas, the state has only some 100 miles of wall.
What's there now is a disjointed fence, it's not a wall. What problem is it that you see with immigration in the US, the fact that it will mean less white people and more of other colors. I'm pretty sure that's what Trump is talking about, maybe you should be getting together with the KKK and other groups to discuss your common "values" you certainly don't represent any liberal values as you've claimed in the past.

Hey DougC, the Guardian just got lambasted for having fake journalism.(big surprise)
Also, are you going to try to tie in the tobacco industry to this thread too? (reminds me of someone else…)

Hey, Vyazma, some idiotic response with smilies isn't an adequate response to something this serious. If you need other evidence of how inaccurate your claims are about the border fence then I'm sure there are many. Such as this. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2016/03/160304-us-mexico-border-fence-wall-photos-immigration/ Or the fact that although in the past you've claimed to be a left winger you in fact show little evidence of that in either your politics or opinions. You come off as one of the most extreme conservatives here in fact and a racist to boot when you support some of the strident racism being shown by the Republican presumptive candidate for this years election. Maybe you do think the kind of atrocities that frequently occur under a racist system are funny...or that tobacco deaths and catastrophic climate change is just a lark. You certainly use enough smilies when discussing these issues although the loss of life is already massive. As I've already said, you come across as a complete psychopath to me, it's no surprise that you seem to be in love with one of America's biggest pathological liars and cheats.

I forgot to mention, the KKK and Vladimir Putin have endorsed Trump, too.

Next will be ISIS, having Trump as US President would be an incredible victory to the countries enemies.

You mean this wall :ahhh:

I actually have some experience with working on partial fences that were more art than fence anymore.
But mine were much more scenic, photogenic even.

But…but…but…we need that 30 or 40 or 50 foot wall - whatever will keep those barbaric hordes at bay- to protect Americans from all those, raping, murdering, thieving, drug dealin’ Mexcans who The Donald says are coming here to destroy America. The same ones he and many other wealthy Americans have been paying slave wages to for decades.
If elected Trump will spend tens of billions of dollars on a “problem” that doesn’t even exist.

Legal scholars dos say Trump could be a threat to the rule of law.

Legal scholars dos say Trump could be a threat to the rule of law. Donald Trump Could Threaten U.S. Rule of Law, Scholars Say By ADAM LIPTAK - JUNE 3, 2016 http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/04/us/politics/donald-trump-constitution-power.html?emc=edit_au_20160603&nl=afternoonupdate&nlid=60684339&_r=0
… Even as much of the Republican political establishment lines up behind its presumptive nominee, many conservative and libertarian legal scholars warn that electing Mr. Trump is a recipe for a constitutional crisis. … With five months to go before Election Day, Mr. Trump has already said he would “loosen" libel laws to make it easier to sue news organizations. He has threatened to sic federal regulators on his critics. He has encouraged rough treatment of demonstrators. His proposal to bar Muslims from entry into the country tests the Constitution’s guarantees of religious freedom, due process and equal protection. And, in what was a tipping point for some, he attacked Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel of the Federal District Court in San Diego, who is overseeing two class actions against Trump University. … “They ought to look into Judge Curiel, because what Judge Curiel is doing is a total disgrace," Mr. Trump said. “O.K.? But we will come back in November. Wouldn’t that be wild if I am president and come back and do a civil case?" … “This is how authoritarianism starts, with a president who does not respect the judiciary," Mr. Post said. “You can criticize the judicial system, you can criticize individual cases, you can criticize individual judges. But the president has to be clear that the law is the law and that he enforces the law. That is his constitutional obligation."
“You would like a president with some idea about constitutional limits on presidential powers, on congressional powers, on federal powers," Professor Barnett said, “and I doubt he has any awareness of such limits." ...
Oh gosh, and there's much more. Scary, truly scary. As much as I dislike Hillary (which developed from watching her Clinton Health Care fiasco and regularly reinforced since then), she's looking better all the time. I'm sure hoping my pessimism about her chances is dead wrong.

But wait, there’s more!

http://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-treasury-haircut-idea-insane-2016-5 Donald Trump is floating an insane idea that would tank the American economy
Donald Trump has said he will approach financing the US government as if it's one of his failing casinos. He said on CNBC on Thursday that as president he would find ways to renegotiate the public debt and pay less than 100 cents on the dollar if the economy went bad. "I've borrowed knowing that you can pay back with discounts," he said. "I would borrow knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal."
Says the contemptible dead-beat businessman who don't give a rat's ass who he sticks it too, so long as he can make his profit.
Some corporate finance deals really do work like this: You issue risky debt, and the lenders know you might not be able to pay them back in full if something really bad happens. But that kind of debt bears a high interest rate, because the lenders know you might not be able to pay them back in full if something really bad happens. US Treasury bonds have very low interest rates because investors are extremely confident they will be paid in full, even in poor economic conditions. Trump — by openly saying that he would keep partial payment on the table as an option — could spark a crisis in the Treasury markets if he became president. Investors would cease to see Treasurys as a safe asset, and they would demand higher interest rates in exchange for risk. This, of course, is a terrible idea, and a good reason for Republicans to hesitate in coalescing around Trump. Do they really want manufactured economic crises to be part of the Republican brand?
What the hay, that's what Republican Administrations have been doing to our country for a long time. But with Trump it'll be on steroids and no restraints. But then a great many people out there actually think they want to bring down our government, so Trump is a "good" bet for those sad babes and a nightmare for the rest of decent American citizens.

I came across an interesting video just now that seems worth sharing.

I was going to start a new thread “Bonhoeffer‘s Theory of Stupidity,” but was reminded of this moldy oldy and it seems a perfect fit, for bringing this thread into the brave new world we’ve created.

Are you better off than you were five years ago?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer argued that stupid people are more dangerous than evil ones.
This is because while we can protest against or fight evil people, against stupid ones we are defenseless — reasons fall on death ears. Bonhoeffer’s famous text, which we slightly edited for this video, serves any free society as a warning of what can happen when certain people gain too much power. #stupidity #sprouts
