And Israel has not tried this?

Israel wants peace. Period.

Since 1947, Israel has pushed for peace with Arab neighbours but has been met with violence, says Israeli journalist.

Numerous Israeli peace overtures, no matter how generous, have been rejected by the Palestinians. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has implemented a settlement freeze, released Palestinian prisoners with Jewish blood on their hands and publicly called for a two-state solution.

Jerusalem – Israel wants peace. Period. The Jewish people have never held a desire to rule over others and this remains true today. Not only are we ohev shalom [“lovers of peace”], but we are also rodef shalom [“active pursuers of peace”].

So news of a possible breakthrough in the Arab-Israeli conflict in 1993, through the framework of what became known as the Oslo Accords, was initially met with enthusiasm among the Israeli public.

> It quickly became clear however, that PLO leader Yasser Arafat and the Palestinian people continued to seek the destruction of the Jewish state.

Without doubt, both the Israeli and Palestinian delegations should be given due credit for their attempt at peace. Unfortunately, these same people today fail to recognise that their effort to achieve what could have been a monumental moment in history has, since then, turned cataclysmic and tragic. No one can deny that the Oslo Accords brought about mutual recognition. But at the same time, it brought waves of Palestinian terrorism and continued rejectionism.

I meant elections now. Netanyahu is barely hanging on. No, the IDF is not transparent. The UN says they are breaking international law now. You are hopeless.

No, you keep insisting that Israel plays by the rules, but you give a pass to Hamas who are the actual international law breakers.
Acting in self-defense is not breaking any law. It’s a natural right!

Hamas started it! When are you going to agree with that instead of laying blame on Israel for this calamity.

I literally said to treat them like criminals

And who is going to do that? The UN? And what is the UN going to do? Make war on Hamas? And where is that war to be fought? In Israel or Palestine?

Lausten, Israel has no options, no choices, and the longer they wait the more Israelis will be killed in Israel.

Primitive barbarianism is not how peace is achieved. Violence only causes more violence. The war between them and Hamas won’t end. The war between Israel and Gaza won’t end either. Israel only caused more violence when they attacked Gaza and if they had attack Hamas, more violence would still be happening. It doesn’t end.

Well, I believe I have made a defensible case for Israel’s right to defend itself against persistent attacks in spite of Israeli past peace gestures that were spat on.

I see no possible way that Israel would start a war if it was guaranteed peace with its neighbors. That would be silly.
Clearly , the non-violent way has not worked and Israel has no more options.

Anyway, I can only be a bystander. I have made an observation.

The Middle East will probably not be solved by these threads.
